Erric’s eyebrows rise. “Who are you then? Are you in this chamber with the myconids? Wow this is really an interesting place that I sincerely hope will not be full of things trying to kill us. And yes our friend needs help trying to rid herself of the presence in her mind - this is why we are here. We’ve heard there is something that might help.”
If the luminescent spores are not in the other chambers, Erric will offer to take ten minutes to bring Jack back and have him carry a torch ahead of the group.
Maldorn thinks: "My friends, we should stop advancing now and make use of this gift the fungi have temporarily bestowed us. It is the perfect opportunity to plan without our half-orc guide getting wind of our newfound knowledge. We can use the excuse of summoning Erric's servant Pack so we can plan for those 10 minutes. I assume we will continue to follow Trash, but what then?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jambiya has been watching, and judging, the orc this whole time, because she was found in an orc cookpot! She has no time for weird tendrils now that her suspicions have been “confirmed” about Thrakk.

Erric and Maldorn, you can see a small saucer-like creature clinging to one of the stalactites with multiple tentacles. It is waving two said tentacles at you, and there are two others ... no, those are actually eye stalks looking back at you.
Maldorn, Jambiya and Anafrey, you have observed that the orc was a bit ambivalent toward you at the very beginning, but since Erric's first song, he has been friendly toward you. He wants you to accompany him through the caves, and while sometimes a bit impatient, has also shown patience with your progress. You did notice that, while everyone moved forward and were encircled by the medium-sized fungi, Thrakk held back in the tunnel, and it could very well have been he wanted to avoid being infected by the telepathic spores. You are almost positive he wasn't.
In his head, Maldorn asks: "Erric, should we be wary of that creature, or is it the one talking to us in our heads who mentioned it was not a myconid?"
Erric, you know you've never seen one, and you can't for the life of you remember where you've even heard of one, but you're pretty sure it's a flumph.
“It’s nice to meet you, I’m Erric. We are here to help our friend, who, as you say, has a mind that isn’t her own. A wise friend of ours said there might be some kind of magic here that could help her rid herself of her cursed weapon’s hold.”
The naive halfling immediately trusts the silly creature.
”Would you like me to play you a song while I finish casting this spell? Anything you can tell us about the rest of the cavern, what magic is here, how to navigate the grimlocks and the derro, and how to deal with our friend Thrakk’s thrall-like condition would be deeply appreciated.”
Also, just to try to keep things straight, the party, including Ebokk, can speak telepathically to each other and the myconids. And now this flumph that Erric by some miracle has heard of -- I assume from a stand-up comic bard -- can speak telepathically to Erric, and perhaps others? Can the rest of the party hear what Erric is saying and hearing from the flumph? Also did Erric hear Maldorn trying to speak to him through the fungus telepathy? This is a crazy fun game :)
From your experience, anyone "talking" mentally can be heard by everyone in the vicinity. Extrapolating from what Ebokk said initially, you assume it's the second spore cloud that enveloped you. You have not heard any mental communication from Thrakk, and he was a little ways away from the rest of you when the second spore cloud erupted, so you could assume he wasn't affected. Whether the flumph is benefiting from the same spore cloud, you're not sure, but Erric knows that flumphs are known to be telepathic themselves.
"Greetings, Erric. I'm afraid I cannot identify myself to you, as my race has a different way of doing that to each other. If I tried, it wouldn't be pleasant. I am also sorry to say that I am going to be wholly unhelpful where the rest of these caverns are concerned. I am no explorer and have been very happy to live here above these myconids for many years. I witnessed the derro and grimlocks fighting each other and was pleased when the myconids were able to put a stop to their battle. As for the orc ... I don't know what to tell you except to be wary. The alien mind may prove benign or malignant." The creature pauses. "What is a song, and how do you play one?"
Erric will happily weave the ballad of the haunted house and the shanty of gnoll island into his ritual casting of unseen servant for the rest of the 10 minutes, as a way of teaching M. Flumph what music is, and to thank them.
He lets Maldorn and the wiser smarter members of the group ask any remaining questions of the new friend, before greeting Jack and offering him a torch and point in the marching order.
He fungus-thinks to the rest of the group, “so what now? Are we to battle the grimlocks? And the derro? Maybe they are actually friendly too. And what about Thrakk? Should we ask him about his mind? Maybe we aren’t even talking to Thrakk. I don’t know. Goals are to get the magic thing to help Anafrey. Survive. Right?”
Before Erric completes his ritual, Maldorn speaks out loud: "Thraxx, It has come to my attention that much remains uncertain as we delve into the depths. I am old, you see, and my memory fails me constantly. Would you mind reminding me what it is that we are doing here apart from finding salvation for my friend's mind? Speaking of which, could you also remind me what you had to say about this mysterious artifact that might solve our friend's headache issue? I wouldn't mind hearing what you have to share on those two questions again while we wait for Erric here to finish his summoning. Thank you."
Anafrey would look down to the flail as her companions discuss their next move and the orcs motives. "Flindbar here has been less than helpful so far... I'll need a stiff drink once this is all over she would say with a forced smile as she rubs her forehead. wincing a bit as her hand rubs her fingers touch her skin..

Erric agreed to this and begins to cast. Thrakk hasn’t reacted to anything we have said in the telepathic medium, has he?
"Above you," the mental voice says. Erric (at least) looks up and sees two thin, vine-like cords waving among the stalactites.
OOC: Anyone more curious should roll a perception check.
As the party halts, Thrakk looks a bit impatient, but also patient.
OOC2: You have not heard any thought messages from Thrakk. If you would like to judge the orc's reactions, roll insight.
