"What the..." Maldorn lets out as his foot is swiped from beneath him. After kicking the air defensively a couple times, the ranger finds the right opportunity to stand back up. While doing so, he swiftly stows away his bow and arrow and tries to hold the nearby boot thief in place.
"I'm not walking barefoot down here.. did you see that goop on the ground?" Anafrey would say as she begins moving to help pull the gray dwarves off her friends while holding her flail tightly if they try to steal her shoes.
"Ahh, what?! My boot! Hey!" Jambiya is first terrified, then gets the wind knocked out of her as she is hooked and thrown to the ground, then lies there mystified as the dwarf runs off with her boot! She stands up swiftly. "Hey!"
Jambiya is at a loss for what to do, but if one of the dwarves comes at her for her second boot, she will try to fend them off.
Action: She will take the Dodge Action.

Thrakk raises his war pick, but at Ebokk's exclamation, the orc looks confused and lowers his weapon slightly without swinging it.
Ebokk raises his shield automatically, but looks more confused than ready for battle as he watches the one derro run north.
Maldorn stands up and attempts to grapple the derro attempting to (he assumes) steal his boot. (acrobatics counter check: 10) The old man is able to get hold of the gray dwarf. It half growls/half yells something in a language you don't understand.
Anafrey, do you also grapple the derro as Maldorn has requested?
Erric throws one of his boots to Jack, who raises it into the air. Does Jack go somewhere/do something with it this round?
Jack runs around the room, holding the shoe aloft. Erric doesn’t quite know what to do but this seems like a reasonable course of action, given the circumstances.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Anafrey's athletics (12) versus the derro's acrobatics (11).
Between the two of them, Maldorn and Anafrey are able to constrain the derro and lower it to the floor.
Round 3
The derro who had attacked Erric points at the "floating" footwear and yells something excitedly. It tries to use its hooked spear to catch Erric's boot. (7) It knocks the boot out of Jack's "hand", grabs up the shoe, and runs north. (Erric, if you want to make an opportunity attack, you may.)
As Anafrey turns and helps bring down its comrade, the one that had been targeting her attempts to hit her again with its hooked spear. (17) The creature is unable to target her well because of the close proximity of Maldorn and the grappled derro. Instead, it yells something unintelligible after missing completely.
Party's up!
Ebokk, looking at the struggling mass on the floor, says, "Let me try something," and then says something in Dwarvish.
Jambiya:
Ebokk says in Dwarvish, "Calm yourselves, brothers. We mean you no harm."
Do the derro wear shoes or not wear shoes? Erric is HERE for this lunacy. He will not opportunity attack, unless he can use the OA to also try to grapple (Athletics: 12) the derro in a friendly, non-harmful manner. More like, 'hold on a sec buddy where are you going let me in on this joke!'
He's waiting to hear if Ebokk's question is understood or answered, before he resorts to using suggestion or phantasmal force or anything like that. If there's any way he can help Ebokk parley or improvise to figure out what the hell is going on, he absolutely will.
Now that Anafrey is also holding the derro down, Maldorn pulls out one of his lengths of rope and tries to hogtie the captured creature. He adds in Gnomish, just in case:
"Stop your shoe stealing and I will give you pretty gifts!"
Yes, the derro are wearing footwear. And yes, an opportunity attack allows you to make a melee attack, and a grapple is a type of melee attack, so ... the derro's contesting athletics: 6.
Given the space, I'm going to say Erric actually caught the derro as he was leaving his space to take the boot from Jack, so that part of the last post didn't happen. After the derro points at the "floating" boot, it starts to leave, but Erric is able to grab hold of the derro to keep it from "attacking Jack".
Two derro are grappled. One has run off with Jambiya's boot. One is trying to help its grappled friend. Maldorn has tied up the one (poorly, but he doesn't know that). Ebokk said something in Dwarvish, and Maldorn said something in Gnomish. What's everyone else doing? Thrakk is just watching.
Jambiya finally wraps her head around what is happening, and runs up to Erric and the one he stopped from attacking Jack. She also says something in Dwarvish, since that seems like a good idea that might actually work. Then she looks at him and her aura seems to expand in lovely greens and whites...
She says in Dwarvish...
"Hey, we're not here to fight you! What is it you want?"
Action:Fey Presence or charmed, Wis Save vs DC 13
But... this is the first time she's used Fey Presence, really, and she's not quite sure how it works (nor am I) in that the description says "Once per short rest, as an action, you can cause each creature in a 10-ft. cube from you to make a WIS saving throw (DC 12) or become charmed or frightened by you (your choice) until the end of your next turn." So, does everyone in that 10 ft cube have to save? Erric? Maldorn? Anafrey? Both derros?
Looking at this tweet — https://www.sageadvice.eu/2016/02/13/thunderwave-thundercube/ — which is another lesson for me, we see that Jambiya's 10-foot cube can be in any direction of Jambiya's choosing as long as she's either touching one of the borders or is within it, as explained in this post: https://rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/48998/is-thunderwave-centered-on-the-caster. Now, as for who it effects, since the feature/trait doesn't explicitly say anything about targets or enemies or "of your choosing" or anything like that, I'd say it affects every creature in that cube. Now, this is a good time to review what charmed means:
A charmed creature can't attack the charmer or target the charmer with harmful abilities or magical effects.
The charmer has advantage on any ability check to interact socially with the creature.
The spell charm person adds this:
The charmed creature regards you as a friendly acquaintance.
However, the actual condition of being charmed is just the first two bullets. This is very different from how Critical Role treats the charmed condition, which is basically mind control and drives me crazy. Another point: It is not truth serum. You need command (which is limited to one-word commands ... ahem, Critical Role gets this wrong, too) or dominate person and zone of truth for those abilities. Charming someone might help you learn a secret or two, though, since it gives you advantage on charisma rolls.
I'm going to say you can target either the one Erric has grappled (which you could aim to not include Erric if you want), OR the two by Anafrey and Maldorn, but you'll get all four of them.
You have to wait until their turn to find out, Erric.
WIS save DC12 for Anafrey: 8, Maldorn: 11, grappled derro: 13, standing derro: -2 — funny
Ebokk persuasion: 2
Jambiya persuasion (advantage for grappled derro, first die for standing derro): 18 oops, advantage roll: 16
Combat suspended.
Both derro sneer at Ebokk, appearing to be disbelieving, but Jambiya turns a fey-enchanted visage on the two derro, and all three derro seem to relent at her words.
The three look briefly at each other before the one Erric has in hand says something in Dwarvish. The other two do nothing.
Jambiya:
The derro says in Dwarvish, "We just want your surface-dweller shoes. They are precious to our people. Chief Diinit says so."
Ebokk looks questioningly at the little goblin girl. "Precious? Boots?"
"What's going on?" Thrakk asks, sounding a little impatient.
“Jambiya, should untie this guy? He stopped struggling and seems to be looking at you.”
”Ebokk, did you say “precious boots”? Didn’t we find some boots just a moment ago in this very cave? Didn’t the ogre have a pair of boots inside its backpack helmet? Or am I misremembering things again?”
"What the..." Maldorn lets out as his foot is swiped from beneath him. After kicking the air defensively a couple times, the ranger finds the right opportunity to stand back up. While doing so, he swiftly stows away his bow and arrow and tries to hold the nearby boot thief in place.
-> Grapple attempt: 19
"Now, now... let's talk little rock devil!"
"I'm not walking barefoot down here.. did you see that goop on the ground?" Anafrey would say as she begins moving to help pull the gray dwarves off her friends while holding her flail tightly if they try to steal her shoes.
