(OOC: we haven't seen a healing potion this campaign. I don't remember the last time we had a conversation about the two goodberries we saved from Jambiya's spell but Erric's got them in his pack. Before the retcon he talked about them just before he tried his gambit with the zombies that then got redone. I'm not sure how well the rest of you would remember them but as far as I'm aware it's the only thing we have. And again OOC is there a reason Maldorn is exclusively doing sharpshooter shots?)
"Maldorn, if we don't get out of this... I just want you to know... I blame Dirk! and also Erric a little bit." Anafrey's blades go snicker-snack as she lashes out at the ethereal figure once more.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
DM rollz: 1
The aberration reaches out to touch Anafrey. (Touch attack: 9, damage: 9 necrotic damage) (Fumble roll: 2) In its/her haste to attack, the creature overextends, missing the huntress, and leaving herself vulnerable if Anafrey decides to attack her next turn (with advantage if she isn't frightened and without disadvantage if she is frightened).
Screwing his courage to the sticking-place, Maldorn drops his bow (otherwise it's an action). "Save your sorrows so you can drown them later, Knifeswivers," he says, moving to stand beside Erric (E4). "We'll all blame Seldom together upon our return." The hunter then kneels down and begins poking around the bard's many pockets. "I know he mentioned young Ms. Seldom's magical berries ..." Almost as if by magic, he finds the berries and palms them.
OOC: This will have to be your turn, Maldorn. If you want to feed Erric a berry, it will need to be your action on your next turn.
(OOC: it was fairly obvious to everyone in the room when Erric's rapier went all sparkly and damaged the ghost way more than she expected it to on a hit, right? Is it sitting there next to Erric's lifeless hand, smoking away in triumph?)
Sorry for us it was days ago but for our characters it was 12 seconds ago so time gets malleable for pbp - sorry if it was unfair, but if our characters would have seen they wouldn't have forgotten, right? If they wouldn't have seen them it's on us as players to rp suitably.
As the wailing specter is struck down by Anafrey's wild attacks, the oppressive gloom is replaced by a blinding light. For a fleeting moment, all four — even those unconscious in their dreams — see the face of the sleeping woman, finally at ease ... and then there is only light.
Anafrey and Maldorn's eyes flick open, and they find themselves in the basement once more. The mirror is shattered beyond repair, and peace has settled over the ruined house. Erric and Jambiya lie on the floor at their feet, still unconscious. (Any dropped equipment is also there on the floor with you.)
Though the woman has gone, you feel a sense of her lingering gratitude, and look to the future with renewed optimism.
Maldorn will prioritize feeding the berries to Erric and Jambiya, now that things have calmed down. He will then collect his bow and arrows from the ground. All of this is done in silent. He is exhausted!
Anafrey huffs, her eyes wide, adrenaline still pumping through her. She sheathes her blades but keeps her eyes open, still looking for tricks and danger.

Maldorn's shot goes wide.
Anafrey, you're up!

(OOC: what is the chaos roll? Just a utility thing for the DM if they need an ability check or saving throw?)
(Also why does Anafrey blame Erric?? :( )
OOC > Jambiya mentioned the berries before we took our short nap/rest in the kitchen. Everyone should remember them.
ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he).
Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
As before, both Anafrey's blades slide through the creature, hitting, but also not hitting.
Round 4: Jambiya (unconscious, 0 saves/1 fail), aberration (damaged), Erric (unconscious, 0 saves/1 fail), Maldorn, Anafrey
Jambiya and Erric, roll death saves.
The creature turns toward Anafrey, drops its jaw, and wails!
Maldorn and Anafrey, roll a DC10 CHA saving throw or take 2 psychic damage and be frightened of bad Clarice until the end of her next turn.
Then, Maldorn, you're up!
Erric death save: 14
Maldorn's CHA saving throw {DC 10}: 10
OOC: Maldorn living on the edge there... Geebus!
Maldorn stows away his bow: "Save your sorrows so you can drown them later, Knifeswivers. We'll all blame Seldom together upon our return."
Maldorn then makes his way to Erric, poking around his many pockets: "I know he mentioned young Ms. Seldom's magical berries..."
If he finds one, he will feed it to Erric and say: "Feed the other one to the girl. Knifeswivers and I will keep Berenice busy."
If he can, he'll then bring out the daggers instead and move towards the ghost.
OOC: That will be your turn when it comes up, Maldorn. Still waiting on Jambiya's death saving throw.
Here goes, Death Save No. 2: 12
ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he).

Let's keep the metagaming to a minimum, shall we? :)

Suddenly struck with terrifying visions of her life force being consumed and being left a husk of a woman, Anafrey's strikes become wild and sloppy.

OOC: No harm, no foul, Erric.

Though the woman has gone, you feel a sense of her lingering gratitude, and look to the future with renewed optimism.
(OOC: Oh! I definitely thought normal attacks weren't doing anything. So. Wow! Holy carp!!!)
OOC > From DDP’s description I took it to be half damage except the rapier (and magic)
