“Oh my gods! Yes, it did, thank you, Erric!” The goblin girl throws her arms around the halfling tight before letting go and soothing the little dragon. “You’re okay now, Snap, uncle Erric fixed you up.”

Erric nods, still coming to terms with his new uncle status. He searches the bodies of the gnolls, and then follows the group down the road, eager to camp for the night.
Jambiya is unwilling to let Snap fly, but he’s not hers to command, so eventually he squirms enough that she lets him go, watching worriedly.
”I wonder what they were doing,” she muses. “An armed patrol of giant dog creatures doesn’t seem... normal. Then again, what that we have seen recently would be called normal by our old selves?”

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Erric, you find five longbows, 9 spears, a chain shirt, a glaive, four sets of nasty hide armor, two wooden shields, a pocket full of raw meat of undetermined origin, and a ring with a yellow stone (the last gnoll was wearing it).
Erric grabs the ring and will spend the next bit of the journey examining it and hoping to figure out if it does anything more than adorn. He'll grab an interesting-looking spear to poke at things along the way, and a wooden shield that looks flatter than the other. "Might come in handy, who knows!"
He also, when Maldorn sets his arm, realizes he needs healing and says a few harmonious words and heals him for 12 hp (two 1st level castings of healing word)
"Thank you, Erric." Maldorn says in a calm and warm voice. "My wounds have closed and I feel much better, but I think what my shoulder needs is a bit of time."
Erric, while traveling, you can visually and physically inspect the ring, but if you're wanting to know whether it's magical, that will need to be done during a short or long rest. You do notice during your extended look that the prongs holding the stone to the ring are actually shaped to look like the fingers of a hand. And the stone is curiously cut so that while the edges you can feel are smooth, looking into the stone, you see a strange organic pattern like a ball of sausage links or the surface of a wrinkly nut.
"Quit moaning," Anafrey says apropos of nothing. When the others look at her strangely, she motions to the odd flail at her side. "The guy doesn't speak to me for weeks, and now he won't shut up about the gnolls." She looks down at the weapon, bending strangely to do so. "You're not a slave to that gnoll god anymore, Anin. You're free. That other god said you can ... well, whatever he said, you can live through me and ... be ... better," she says, sounding kind of unsure. She sighs, flips her white hair back over her shoulder, and keeps marching.
Erric looks at Jambiya and Maldorn when Anafrey's back is turned and gives her a rare knowing, concerned look. He presses on, planning to give a look to the ring when the party stops for a fuller rest.
Erric helps to find a decent spot to rest, and then gets Jack up and running to help with the mundane tasks. He spends a spare hour with the ring, asking Jambiya and Maldorn if they have any idea what the odd texture inside might mean. He'll also play some music to boost everyone who uses a HD to heal with an extra d6.
OOC: I assume this is to be a Long Rest, so I am not sure Song of Rest would apply, right?
Maldorn is in a bit of a grumpy mood by the time the adventures settle for the night. Now that adrenaline has expired, his shoulder and upper back are really bothering him. He'll have a look at the ring when asked, but preemptively warns Erric that this type of study really isn't his forte, even though the ranger is able to cast a couple of spells nowadays.
Jambiya will help about the camp, cooking as is her normal duty. When Erric asks about the ring, she comes over, holding it and looking at it closely. "I don't really know anything about magic, I mean, this," she indicates herself, her book, her witchy stick, "This is all still new to me. And it's not like I studied to learn about it. I'm not sure my dads ever talked about a ring like this..."
History roll regarding any description of a ring like this from Dirk or Brunthor (usually caveats apply, even a good roll could fail if they never talked about one): 9

It's early afternoon, but you could go ahead and camp here or travel a little further.
“We shouldn’t camp here, in case they were expecting friends,” Jambiya reasons.

"Alright. Let's move onward then." Maldorn ultimately agrees.

"Perhaps they were just bandits waiting to waylay travelers at the crossroads." Maldorn theorizes.

Maldorn begins to fashion a sling for his arm, as to reduce the burden on his injured shoulder.

Jambiya quietly gives herself a little boost of nature energy (False Life 6) as the group moves on down the road.

His arm now supported, Maldorn leads the group onward.
Continuing on toward the northern tip of the Sword Mountains, the party travels until the sun begins to set. Anafrey volunteers to build a fire.

Maldorn volunteers for the last watch, explaining that he'd prefer to take his turn around sunrise so his vision is not as impaired.
