Maldorn smiles at his dwarven friend's sight and at the younglings' urge for an embrace. He couldn't help but feel proud of Ebokk for being out here, adventuring on his own while waiting for them. And to think Maldorn's own little long-shot invitation for the dwarf to join them all those months ago was what started Ebokk in his now surely unstoppable wanderlust. Yes, an almost parent-like pride washed over the old ranger now.
OOC for @acoolnamehere's benefit: Maldorn is a "young" human ranger in his early sixties. He is not particularly fit or tall, but is undecidedly the tallest person in this adventuring party as it currently stands. His forehead is much bigger than it used to be, and what is left of his hair has turned completely white and is allowed to grow to some length, though it doesn't quite reach his shoulders. He keeps some facial hair on his upper lip and along the frame of his face, but has never been able to grow a rugged full beard. Before setting out on adventures with these younglings, he used to run the hunting lodge back in Seldom Spring, which partially explains his access to the large and varied amount of gear he carries with him. He wears a long coat, mail, and leggings made of leather covered with overlapping pieces of metal, made to mimic the scales of a lizard. The coat is bigger than it should be for his size, but he wears it in such a way that its folds produce many extra "pockets" for him to house his two favorite delights: different types of tobacco and a winged-snake named Sagitta. Adventuring with Jambiya and Erric helps Maldorn feel young again, and he has learned much from these youths. He reclaims his youthful nimbleness with each passing day, and has even been able to learn a few spells. Maldorn has shared with the group that he originally comes from a land far away from Seldom Spring, and even hinted at a lost love, but has never elaborated on either of those topics. He also has an awful memory for names, but has leaned to call Erric and Ebokk by their accurate name after the traumatizing "kissed-back-to-life" event that the halfling and the dwarf shared (he has always called Jambiya by her right name, though.)
As the little ones approach Ebokk's face turns from an unsure look to a smiling one. He places one foot slightly behind himself to brace himself for the warm welcome. It is good to see you two he says with a chuckle as he returns Jambiya hug holding one arm around her.
Looking to Maldorn I knew you would find me.I found the entrance His eyes dart around as he turns his head a bit looking into the darkness. Where is Anafrey?
Jambiya's face falls, but then she sticks her chin out resolutely. "Anafrey's gone to do something she felt was important. I'm not worried about her, and she was in complete control of Anin, so I think it's okay. We tried to track her, but she's good and she didn't want to be followed. So we just decided to keep on and meet you!"
She looks behind him towards the hills. "So you have a magic doorway?!"

Yes i do. Ebokk turns and walks a bit closer to the fire and squats down just slightly, not that there is any real need for the dwarf but does so anyway. He points across the fire
There. he pauses a moment Thats where it appeared at sundown 2 nights ago, and again last night. But it wasnt showing as long last night. I fear tonight might even be shorter.
A quick bit of clarification, but please don't let it stop the great RP: Ebokk arrived yesterday, saw the doorway last night, and again tonight. The party arrived about an hour after it appeared the second night Ebokk saw it. Hopefully it will appear again tomorrow evening.
"So... we missed it? But it'll come back tomorrow, but for a shorter window? Okay." Jambiya drops her pack and begins to set up their camp. She takes over cooking from Ebokk, adding some magical flavoring. "What're we going to do all day tomorrow? Have there been any others looking for the gateway?"

"Assuming It does appear tomorrow evening again, then that just works even better for me. My shoulder could use the extra day worth of rest." Maldorn rubs his injury and helps Jambiya set up camp (or add their camp to Ebokk's, I guess.)
Responding to Jambiya with a nod Yes, i think we must wait till tomorrow. I hope it will appear again. He moves a few steps and puts down his warhammer next to his shield.
Ive not seen anyone else here.He sits back down on his bedroll.
Best we can do is rest for now, tomorrow we can prepare. Ill share what information ive gathered about the vault then.
As the party begins to settle down, Jambiya calls for Snap. If he comes, she has a chat with him. "Go hunt and have fun, but keep an eye out for strangers, okay? If anyone is coming, I'd really appreciate it if you could come warn us. We're going into a cave tomorrow night. If you want to come, be here before the sun is going down."

One or more of you might notice that Ebokk is carrying a different warhammer. The one he had before was pretty run-of-the-mill and non-descript. This one has a blue sheen, even in the glow of the fire. Also, the head is more slender, and the handle is longer.
Jambiya, Snap agrees to keep an eye out for danger. You get the impression that the pseudodragon feels a little guilty about Anafrey getting away without him noticing, and he doesn't want that to happen again.
"Shall we agree on watches? I'd like to go last if possible, so I can benefit from the rising sun's light." Maldorn proposes, just before going to bed.
He smiles: "Nice hammer, Ebokk. I gather there are no evil spirits within that one?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ebokk nods Ill take the first watch
Replying to Maldorn No certainly not! he says with a confident voice.
As the others go to sleep Ebokk will stare into the fire a moment before looking around to see if everything is safe. He looks at Maldorn remembering his words then turns his head to look at his warhammer narrowing his eyes. Then shakes his head trying to shrug of the idea.
With some time passing Ebokk takes a small walk around the camp staying at the edge of the light from the fire and stopping every now and then to try and hear sounds or see if anything is moving in the darkness.
"Ebokk!!" Jambiya shouts and runs the rest of the way, throwing herself at the dwarf in a big hug. "You're here!"

Erric tries to jump up and kiss the dwarf on the cheek. "Good to see you my friend!"
Jambiya has a lot more experience with Dwarf hugging than Erric does.

Erric nods at Jambiya's reply. Then he looks at the hills. "Where is it?"
"Will we have to wait until tomorrow's sunset?" Maldorn asks trying to spot the entrance on the rock.

Erric's fine to have a middle watch. As people settle down he'll provide some soft, calming, happy music.

Jambiya settles down for a nap before Ebokk wakes her for the second watch. She is asleep almost immediately.
