Erric spends time with Jambiya, picking berries, bantering, and allowing Snap to keep an eye out for the other party. Later, he'll check in with Ebokk and ask about his journey, and what he's learned about it beyond what was in the letter, and how he found out about it. He'll try to further win Snap over by plying it with morsels from lunch and dinner.
Eventually, he'll begin to wonder about the vault and look around the cliff face where Ebokk says the door has appeared, wondering if he sees any signs of footprints or items dropped outside.
Ebokk will not do anything except gather some firewood to make sure he is on time for sunset with lighting a new fire. Other then that he will pace around waiting for the time to pass and hoping the doorway will show again tonight.
Somewhere during the day he will take his notebook to read up on it. As Erric comes by to ask how he found out about the vault Ebokk smiles. Well.. it was by chance really. He adjusts his seating as he explains. Mother was having another meeting an Gnome acquaintance to sell some old stuff we dont need anymore. I was browing through some of the gnomes things when i found a real treasure map!His eyes grow larger as he says this.
At first the Gnome charged me an arm and a leg for it. Can you believe it? It was just gathering dust after all. But i asked mother to get a good bargain for me, she has gotten good with that you know. Had to tell mother it was something i could resell for profit ofcourse, not use myself. He looks down a moment. Wasnt a big lie really. I plan to get more coin from it so its kinda true right?
He starts to go through his backpack pulling out a rolled up parchment. The Gnome didnt know much other then it was for the vault of Raman and Grath Turntide, Illuskan brothers. So i did some asking round and they went on plenty of real adventures and are said to have stored all their findings in this very vault.

This is Triboar see. We are here at the base of the north side of the Sword Mountains. He moves his finger to the bottom left where the X is. And this here... well thats the doorway. And ive seen it, right over there He points towards where he saw the doorway last night.
Ebokk replies to Maldorn Perhaps 80 miles from Triboar. Not a quick journey but its the closest thing to a town.
He waits till the others have gathered again.
I gues this is a good time to share the information i have of the vault. The brothers had different skills, one was a rogue and the other a mage. Even though they were brothers they never fully trusted eachother with all their spoils. So they designed the vault to require both their skillsets. Often needing to complete two tasks within a room to open the next door.
Ebokk reads a few lines in his notes.
There are several reports of what kind of tasks needed but none made it very far. They believe the reason for these reports are that the vault itself shifts like a living labyrinth, never the same to keep intruders guesing. Some rooms even have trapped monsters within them, drawn by the magic of the items within and unable to escape.
Mad Dog Delmirev says he has been inside where one of his party had to use protective magic to get inside a cage to unlock a part of the first door. But they soon learned it set off a timer that sent burst of fire into the cage. At first they did not pass the magical protection his friend had but as time passed it became stronger. Another of the group had to pass through a maze that seemed impossible untill Mad Dog got to a vantage point to aid his ally. Seeing a good part of the maze but right when he was about to reach the end a Minotaur guard appeared with an axe the size of half a man cutting his ally in two! Time soon ran out as the fire burned the one in the cage. Mad Dog tried to help and has the burnmarks on his hands to prove it but could do nothing. He ran after the screams stopped.
Ebokk looks at the little ones to make sure its not scaring them to badly. They need to know, he tells himself.
Another tells of a room that has stone bridges hovering over a sea of spikes. But the bridge is slippery as ice. If thats not enough they say they had dragons guarding the bridge. They were young at the time but that was years ago. Maybe their bigger now.
He reads a few more lines but closes the small book.
Well im sure some of it is a lie. Strong tales told in a tavern right?
Maldorn clicks his tongue: "I sure would have liked to have heard all of that before we made our way out here, Ebokk. Not one thing you said there sounded pain-free. And we don't even have a roguish type among our ranks to help with that half of the challenges."
"I mean, it's not like three roguish folk with cool names are just going to waltz through our campsite, looking for adventure. Sheesh, Maldorn."Erric shakes his head and arches his eyebrows in disbelief. "Anyhow, I can be a little sneaky, and maybe things aren't as bad as they were when those drunk people wrote down your horror stories, Ebokk. What could go wrong, really?"
"Right, right..." Maldorn grovels. "When we can't get rid of them, they inevitably betray us. When they leave upon request, turns out they would have been indispensable. Such is our luck."
“Oh! Do you think those sneaky folk would want to... I mean, honestly, I thought they were treasure hunters after the same adventure we are! I kind of wanted them gone, but now...” Jambiya doesn’t know what to do. “We sort of looked for them, to see if they were sneaking around, still. I think they might be really gone.”
She looks both confused and crestfallen, at the same time.
As far as anyone could tell, the trio definitely left. I'm loving the RP and am not in a hurry to end it. When it seems like you're winding down, we'll move on.
Jambiya sits down heavily. "I should have looked for spells or... something, to put in my mother's book." She pulls out her magical grimoire and opens it. "I guess I've just never thought of myself as a... I don't know, a magic user?"

Maldorn's age begins to show more clearly as he begins to just grumble and nod as the conversation goes on. While he does so, and thinks back to the stories Ebokk shared and concludes that he might want to sharpen his mind should they need to solve puzzles inside this dungeon. He sits and begins preparing his next serving of Blackberry Latakia Tobacco, managing to separate this bowl into 4 servings.
He loads his green serpent smoking pipe with one of those servings but does not smoke it just yet.
Ebokk shrugs, Well there is only one way to find out. We will have to wait till sundown anyway.
He taps his finger on the book a few times thinking about the tales he had gathered. Then puts it away into his bag. They all seem to encounter different things so we need to be on our toes when going in. Ive brought some tools as well in case we need to disarm traps.
As he waits Ebokk will continue gather some firewood and place fresh logs on the campfire.
Erric delights at the opportunity to go hunting with Maldorn. He holds off on making either one of them invisible this time, however, a bit nervous about the dangers in the dungeon ahead of them. But also excited.

Jambiya starts to fidget a little during Ebokk’s tale. At the end, she looks a little discomfited.
”I know I’m the one most attuned to magic, but I’m no wizard. What if these trapped rooms require magic I can’t do?”

"Well, in that case, it looks like Erric shall be our rogue for this adventure." Maldorn confirms.

(Erric was not being sarcastic, but very clueless when describing the other party. And he's being naive about being a rogue!)
He's ready to move on, unless it's soon enough after they left that there's a chance of finding them and convincing them to come back before sundown.

It's been at least an hour. There's been some berry picking and I'm not sure what all between then and now.

"You are one prepared dwarf, Ebokk! I am glad you have rejoined our company." Maldorn offer the swarf some tobacco.
Maldorn suggests they keep busy until the sun sets: "Anyone cares for some meat? We could go hunting for lunch if you'd like?"
Erric delights at the opportunity to go hunting with Maldorn. He holds off on making either one of them invisible this time, however, a bit nervous about the dangers in the dungeon ahead of them. But also excited.
Maldorn smiles at Erric and leads his friend into a slow, patient hunt in a nearby wooded area.
