I grab a drink for myself Hymir, Fjolnir, and Absinthe.(also any allies that enter the bar throughout the night. 1 beer per party member.)
"I don't believe that shit." I raise my glass to Absinthe and Fjolnir. "To over arrogant dragons that didn't see it coming." I drain the glass. I drink with my compatriots until they retire. Nursing the buzz not getting blitzed. I then take a leisurly stroll through the quiet town imprinting on every animal I see. To get some new wildshapes.
This wakes me up, such that I'm a light sleeper and wont be able to go back to sleep now. I briefly stroll around town talking to people about any new happenings around town.
Everyone go ahead and long rest (Since you're already doing morning stuff) and remove 8 sp for lodging and dinner. Anyone who purchased ale: remove 4 cp per mug, and/or 2 sp per gallon. (honor system)
Hymir: It took 4 hours and 100 gp to copy Misty Step into your spellbook. Please remove that from your coffers and I will remove the scroll from the party loot. Since this was completed before your long rest you may now prepare it as normal.
Dustfinger:
As you enter the Miner's Exchange, a woman is behind the desk, counting money. She eyes you up and down as you enter. When you ask for Halia and claim to be looking for work, she says. "I am she. You here to fill out the miner's contract?"
Az Emberi:
The widowed woman answers the door. You almost don't recognize her since she has cleaned up, but she recognizes you. "Oh, hello! I can't thank you enough for helping us." She gets a worried look on her face. "I still have nothing to offer..."
Dirk:
It is a bit early so there aren't many up and about, but the few people that you do talk to give the same general impression: -The atmosphere is much better now that the Redbrand's leadership has been ousted. The old Redbrands still frequent the Sleeping Giant, but it's not quite as rowdy, even though it's still just as exclusive. -Sildar is helping the Townmaster get a handle on things. He's a really big help with organization and leadership. -Gundren is very worried about his siblings, and the state of the mine he's invested in. -Townmaster Harbin Wester has changed his cowardly focus from the Redbrands to the Orc raids that have been happening on the Triboar Trail and continues crying that "the assault on Phandalin is inevitable and we need to act now or fall victim to more and more raids!"
Put your spoiler here. Nor would I ask anything from you. We were back in town after our last adventure. Took a bit of a beating but we pulled out ok. We'll be leaving again soon on business and I just wanted yo check in and make sure you and you pups are doing all right.
Knowing that Dustfinger went to the Sleeping Giant, knowing the Redbrands are still present I get curious and stroll on over. I want to ask them about Dustfinger, what business he had over here and I'll roll if I don't get the answers I want.
Dustfinger is pleasant with Halia. "Mining, or whatever else needs doing around here. I am skilled in finding precious resources, extricating them, and moving them to wherever they are most desired. I have other talents, as well." Dustfinger punctuates this by summoning his pact blade to his hand in the form of a dagger before banishing it away. "I work hard, speak little, and I'm not afraid of the dark. Grista mentioned you might have a place for someone like me."
"Oh, yes we're doing fine, thank you. Well, as good as we can, considering." She looks down at her feet for a minute. "Were you able to find the heirloom? Was it where I thought it would be?"
Dirk:
You get to the Sleeping Giant but no one seems to be there. The tavern door is locked and you don't hear any noise from inside. You get the feeling this is an "after hours" kind of place.
Dustfinger:
Halia starts looking under her desk and pulls out a mining contract, but once you show her your abilities she puts it back. "Ah, that kind of work. I don't have anything right now, but I will gladly take you into the Black Network. So long as you don't tell everyone you meet, I have the power to make you a member of the Zhentarim. I'll just need your name, and if there's something that ever needs doing, and you're available, you'll be called upon. You seem like you'll fit the kinds of things we may need." She smiles and gets ready to write your name on a blank sheet of paper.
Dustfinger mentally notes that Halia is not very sharp, but remains pleasant, nonetheless. "You may call me Dustfinger. It is a pleasure to meet you." Smiles welcomingly with a slight nod. "And how should I expect to be summoned? Pigeon, rider, smoke in the sky, dark magics...?"
Put your spoiler here.Slightly uncomfortable. "Yes we found it it with little trouble. Well a little trouble. The monsters there hit hard. Oh and also the dragon. That was rough but what can you do? Tell me what's the history of that item?"
Halia raises and eyebrow. "Dustfinger? That's your name? Not a nickname?" She starts writing slowly but with a practiced hand. A single, flawless line of script spelling out 'Dustfinger'. As she writes, the word un-writes behind her, just as slowly as she wrote it, until there is nothing on the page. "Huh, I guess it is. Welcome to the Zhentarim, Fang Dustfinger." She holds out a hand to shake yours. "The how depends on the what, where and why. That's all you need to know right now. If you'll excuse me." She sits back down and continues counting.
Az Emberi:
Put your spoiler here. <-- You can delete this. Every time... Like... c'mon man!
Mirna says, "A dragon!? Thank the gods I didn't ever try to get it back! I'm sorry, I don't know much about its history, just that's it's been in the family for generations and my parents said it was valuable."
Dirk:
We are going to have to wait on this. Dustfinger is actually still doing things that happened last night and hasn't caught up in the timeline yet.
Furthermore, I will keep your insight roll, I don't think investigation will fit, but you'll have to get him to say something to insight check him. So we will come back to this and he will get to roll deception if he wants to try and deceive you. We will wait to see the results of that, but for now let him catch up.
Also, we never finished the shop conversation. You just moved on and didn't say anything else to the provisioner. I don't know if you wanted to buy the things he had, or say to hell with it because he didn't have all of it. You didn't discuss prices or anything further, you were just on to other things.
Hymir:
It's a new page, just reminding you to collect your share of loot and mark off the 100 gp to scribe the scroll into your book, since you're on Vacation.
Absinthe and Fjolnir:
You guys haven't been doing anything, just making sure you have nothing personal you want to accomplish, and to help you not feel left out. :)
Dustfinger gives a polite nod as Halia excuses herself, and vacates himself from the Exchange, whistling a random tune. Thumbs in belt, he whistles all the way back to the company of his cohorts.
" I see" I produce the necklace. "I think you and your family should have this back. It means nothing to me but the gold it's worth." It's yours and I don't feel right about cashing it in." I hand her the necklace. " now if you'll excuse me I have to go see a smith about some atmor. Hopefully he deals in leather because I've never been fond of metal." I leave to go find the smith.
Fjolnir walks over to the bar and stares at the Innkeep an awkward enough time that she begins to speak, just to punctuate the discomfort of silence when he interjects- "ma'am, if it's alright with your kitchen, I'd like all the bacon and eggs you have." And a moment later, adds, "...but just to be clear not some, but all the bacon and eggs you have." And he grabs a pint, fills it with a lighter ale, and sits in the back corner, the occasional quaff the only eclipse of the 1000 yard stare.
The barmaid says, "Sir, that's not something we do... we have pounds... Other customers... you can't possibly eat..." She looks at Absinthe, "I'll tell them to get started."
Az Emberi:
(Much better)
Mirna smiles wide and excitedly reaches out. "You're sure? I said you could have it, but I am more than happy to keep it in the family." She bows as you leave, you think to hide her tears.
When you get to the Smithy there is already someone stoking fires and getting things started.

Absinthe mostly just drinks all night, until he feels like he is to the point where one more will require him being carried to his room.
Once he gets to that point he gets up and stumbles to his room.
(Otherwise I will be at the inn for RP purposes)

Dustfinger finds himself at the Exchange. He makes it known to whoever is here to greet him that he's looking for Halia about getting a job.
Az Emberi wakes up early a decides to walk the town again. On a whim he decides to check on the family they saved from the Red Brands.
This wakes me up, such that I'm a light sleeper and wont be able to go back to sleep now. I briefly stroll around town talking to people about any new happenings around town.
