After collecting everyone's names (and faces)Tess will run up to Strank and look him over, marveling at the technology it must have taken to build him. She doesn't offer to greet him or ask his name as, it is clear from his previous interactions that he does not want to be disturbed. While she examines the automaton, she keeps and eye on Miss Stix, again doing her best to seem a model attendant, straight backed and ready to carry out whatever orders barked at her.
Belit makes her way over to Ethan and Nam "Gentlemen...I did not miss much, did I? You know I'm always late...I had those nightmares again last night and I just can't...well for another time right. At least I made it in time to be singled out as a oddity by our new master. This is not a prime world, I don't think much is odd in Ravnica. She seems to think we are the worst bunch of recruits she has had to deal with." Her speech is very clear and articulated. "And all of these others, things have changed havn't they." She casts her golden eyes over the group around her as well as the other group in front nearer to Miss Stix.
"I wouldn't worry about Miss Strix. Me and Nam grew up in the Izzet League as you know and we have seen all kinds of people."
"My guess is Miss Strix could be one of the good ones, rough on the outside, but good deep down."
"Although I would strongly suggest doing your best not to disappoint her if possible, especially early on."
"As for what you missed, I don't know if you heard the part where director Velek, basically said we would all have the chance to get fast tracked to the next rank here at the Lab."
"We still have to prove our worth and capabilities, but we won't have to log all the normal hours, before we can even be considered."
Back in the lecture hall, when Eck ask's the question about the gutters, Miss Stix's head swivels around to shoot the odd girl with a dead stare. Most of the anger present earlier in the meeting is replaced with genuine confusion before she shakes her head and continues going on her way. During the walk to wherever she's leading all of you, she doesn't turn around much or outwardly react to the conversations that are taking place behind her. The most interaction she has with the group is when the artificial humanoid directly talks to her, which she responds simply with a contemplating frown, as if she didn't outwardly know how to react to this new development, and instead decided on simply continuing to walk forward without acknowledging his declaration.
After five minutes of walking, you all end up next to another door that looks like all the rest in this seemingly unending labyrinth of twisting and winding multilevel corridors. You were in the basement know, descending down a flight of stairs halfway through your walk, and the shiny plague next to the door proudly declared "Basement Level -1 Laboratory 076"
Despite being a lab of Artificy, there seemed several different types of measuring instruments, wooden crates, vials of multicolored liquids, wooden benches, books on various subjects, and storage shelf's dispersed throughout the room. There were several tables set up in the middle of the laboratory, each table seemingly dedicated to a different disassembled machine of some kind. Nuts, screws, sheets of metal, circuitry, and other mechanical innards were layed out in neat rows, orderly to a extreme degree much like the rest of the room (disregard the mess in the above picture, Miss Stix's room is like a much more clean and neat version).
The female goblinoid brings you all to one of the few tables not dominated by some project or another, instead having two satchels with a printed label stapled to the front containing your two squad numbers.
"Your first assignment's are gonna be artifact requisition and retrieval. Squad Seven-" She gabs a calloused finger towards the other group, donning one of her quickly becoming trademark scowls directed towards some of the members, namely the Minotaur and one of the twins, who had been gawking at several parts of the lab that were more filled with shiny screens and monitors that had seemingly be recording some type of data in a wave like pattern. "There's been a legal dispute about an invention one of our recently deceased members tried leaving to their spouse. You will go to the Azorius forum and sweet talk either the spouse or the workers there. If you can't do it, find more... creative solutions on getting it back, but know that if you get your asses caught trying something, I'll say you idiots misinterpreted my orders and will be let go. Don't bother coming back if you don't get it. More details on the assignment can be found in dossiers inside your satchels, now get out." When she paused on creative solutions, she gave the group a wicked grin filled with too many teeth, and a exaggerated wink that seemed rather sinister for the simple action of winking. The twin who wasn't reprimanded grabbed the Satchel, and quickly ushered the group out of the room, and Miss Stix's concentration was now on your group.
"Squad 5..." She paused on the word, as if through testing the taste of it, before continuing. "The League legally acquired some space in the Under-city sewers for more maintenance and utility tunnels and pipelines. Turns out some of that space had some old, forgotten Golgari tomb that was bulldozed down, and an old artifact was found amongst the rubble. Legally we own it, some members of the Golgari don't think so. The head hauncho's have made deals, so you won't have to worry about anything truly dangerous, but some thugs who can't seem to get that past their thick skulls might try to wave some sticks at you and try to scare you away. You are allowed to legally defend yourself, but do something stupid, and the League will claim no responsibility over your actions. Go to the site, get the artifact, come back, easy as that. Grab the bag and scram."
She turned her back to you all, and went to observe some of the equipment monitors that one of the twins was looking at earlier, the dismissal of your party practically oozing off her.
In the bag:
A manila folder containing documents with details about the construction site where the artifact is located, and about the artifact itself. It's apparently called an "Basilisk Collar" by the Golgari, and while not particularly mythical, it's still fairly an fairly rare artifact. There isn't too much details on what it actually does, probably the reason why you all are retrieving it, other then that the Golgari like to put the collar around their personal animal companions and it seems to empower them. Two Potion's of Healing, with a note attached that says "Consumption of these potions will go directly against your earned pay for this mission." And a basic map of the important sections of the underground, with your destination circled with some type of red ink.
Ethan, almost ignores what is going on with the 2 groups, instead he is examining everything in the room, eyes wide open, with a look of desire in them.
He is careful, not to touch anything, or even to get too close, but you can tell he desperately wants to touch and examine everything.
As Strixaddresses Squad 5, Ethanreluctantly draws is attention back to their head researcher.
As she finishes and turns away from the group, finished with them, Ethanspeaks,
"Sounds simple enough, lets get too it."
"Who is going to be our information person, who should take the bag?"
Ethanlooks at his friends, and the other 3 members of the new squad.
Ethanintroduces himself to Eck,
"Hi my name is Ethan, and these are my friends, Namand Belit. I haven't caught your name yet, or yours either."
Tess grabs the bag as soon as Miss Stix commands it and says to Ethan,
"Let's not do this here, Miss Stix has asked us to leave. I suspect her next asking will not be nearly so kind."
She eyes Miss Stix, some fear in her wide eyes, though possibly not enough. She ushers the crew out as quickly as she can manage, not bothering to try to move the automaton, unsure whether it is even meant to be part of the team.
Once outside, Tess will quickly read through the dossier then hand it off to no one in particular she reads the notes on one potion of healing, then hands those off as well.
"'Consumption of these potions will go directly against your earned pay for this mission.' Hmm, for emergencies only then? One of you backline types should hold onto these."
Tess pulls the map out and regards it carefully, doing her best to memorize the paths and sections. She shows it to the others and says,
"Here, does anyone need anything before we depart? Though it never was mentioned I have to assume this is a competition of a sort and that time is of the essence. I can scout ahead and check for potential hazards. I will hold onto the map if there are no objections."
Her voice is calm and cool with very little variance in tone. Everything she says is said as if it is fact with no sense of humor, excitement, or malice.
Nam takes the map and memorizes every detail he can before handing it back. He is uninterested in the rest of the bag, feeling confident they (Belit, Ethan, and Nam) won't need it.
"This is nothing. Simple and straight forward. Shall we get moving or does anyone think they need some supplies?"
Nam looks around at the group. The machine person, he wants to reverse engineer more then be it’s friend and this Tess person who is overly enthusiastic, intrigues him.
turning back to his friends, “I’m ready to go. We walk in, get the item, then leave. No big deal. Let’s go.”
“We must do as instructed. Any failure will most likely end in punishmen. Let us start this assignment.” The envoy says robustly before taking the lead in the group(I don’t want him to be the leader, he is just the tankiest with the most AC)

Are we ever sure that we exist? Do we have feelings? Or are we just NPC's designed to think highly? If so what is our purpose? Why are we here? Who are the players? Or are there Players?
Bêlit leaves with the rest of the group, ushered out into the hallway. Standing there her gaze searches the group, though it is hard to tell with her pupiless eyes who she is specifically gazing at. She peers over and looks down at the map, before locking eyes with Tess.
"I am happy for you to keep the map and I believe that Tess is right, this is a competition and we need to work as swiftly as we may to best Squad Seven. They have some within that group that seem rather confident in themselves so I do not see that they will find it hard to talk there way into possession of the invention they need to acquire. Having said that, we do not yet know each other or each others strengths. From what Miss Stix said, we are basically walking into an Golgari ambush. I do not know if anyone else that stands here has experience with the Golgari, but I do. I have been on the pointy end of there attention before and seen others die at the Golgari's hand."
Bêlit pauses, taking a deep breath as she relives an old memory. Closing her eye for a second, she flicks them open and continues. "They are butchers and we must expect a fight. And if we are to expect a fight and live, then we need to understand each other. Before being invited to join the League, I had to fend for myself and hence am handy in close quarters with my fail. But my strength is more at a distance, using my magics to best foes. As for being ready, I have everything I need on me."
She looks at the rest of them, waiting for someone else to pick up after her.
Nam takes a second to ponder what Belit has said then takes a second look at the map (DM can direct us on this part). He finds a spot on the map and addresses Tess,
“Lets get to this poin here, then you can scout ahead” Looking to the others, “We can get to know each other on the way”
Nam begins moving at a faster pace now, he turns to those that don’t know him “please don’t take offense if I don’t shake hands, it’s no fault of yours” just then his eyes seem to catch fire as ball of great heat forms in his hand.

(Don't let me interrupt your RP, just gonna drop the map of the district down, and maybe some suggested land marks and stores in the route to the underground entrance)
(Precinct 6 Map)
(Precinct 5 Map)
(Precinct 4 Map)
(Precinct Descriptions)
You are all currently located in Precinct 4, marker 11 "Nivix" the guildhall of the Izzet league. To the north of you is the Red Wastes/Skarrg and Sunholm, owned by the Gruul and Boros respectively. The neighborhoods to the North and South of Precinct 4 are mainly low income housing, general goods stores, and armories selling basic adventuring equipment for the Boros guards and mercenaries and bounty hunters that call this place home. Tin Street to the immediate left of Nivix is famously known as a sort of legal black-market, where a aspiring buyer could find nearly anything from either the wide varieties of stalls and shops that line the street, or the shady salesmen wandering around with their inventory in their wide coat pockets and backpacks. Although there is entrances to the underground here, from Nivix maintenance tunnels, they are practically a labyrinth this close to the guild hall, and would take a much longer time eventually getting to your destination from here, then just walking above ground and finding a closer entrance point to the underground.
To the left of Northern part of Tin Street is Precinct 5. This neighborhood hood contains the blister-coils, some of the largest powerplants for the Izzet, and home of a majority of the off-site laboratories, Prism University, the leading magical academy for the public, the cities largest library, and the home of the Simic. The blister-coils contain entrances to the undergrounds as well, but it's practically the same as trying to navigate the guild-halls underground, and about just as far far from your destination. There are many specialty shops, such as apothecaries, magical item pawn shops, and the like but little in the way of general stores.
To the South is Precinct 6. The Smelting Quarter separates the lower half of Precinct 6 and Precinct 5, and is generally the safest place to be in this very unsafe Precinct. Many blacksmiths and manufactured goods stores can be found here. Medori park, the Western most part of the Precinct is one of the largest warehouse homes in the entire city and is owned in majority by the Orzhov. This is probably one of the safest places to enter the underground in the Precinct, but it most definitely will cost a price. The Gorehouse, in the South-Eastern most part of the smelting quarter is one of the biggest public entrances to the underground, but probably one of the most dangerous as that's the playground of the Rakdos guild. They almost always ensnare audience members to their performances, and you've all heard the rumors about a Rakdos performance. Wayport is a non-guild affliated tradehub for the district, and has some entrances to the underground relatively close to where you need to go, but again most of those entrances include some sort of tax, and aren't as closely guarded and well maintained as the Orzhov's. Deadbridge Chasm is the closest source of underground entrance to your eventual destination, but it's the home and breeding ground of the Golgari and their various fungi... experiments, and some of it's lowest members aren't to happy with your presence.
Your eventual destination is a tunnel between the Smelting Quarters and Deadchasm Bridge, but somewhat closet to the Bridge then to the Smelting Quarter. Eventually most tunnels in the underground can lead you here, because the infrastructure of the city is surprisingly well connected, but where you enter could be the difference in a 10 minute hike or a multi hour expedition.
Tess looks around at her companions again before folding the map neatly and carefully placing it in her belt pouch. She follows after the automaton, but falls into step with Bêlit, pinning her long black hair into a bun as she walks.
"You mentioned experience with the Golgari? I must confess I have none. Point of fact, I'm relatively new to the Ravnica all together. Will you tell me about your experience with them? If there's any diplomacy to be had I'd like to know as much about them as possible, especially if you know anything about their organizational structure, leaders, and so on."
Nam hears “...new to Ravnica...” from Tess and will make a mental note of this. It seems suspicious to him. If she is ‘new’ how did she get into the Guild. If she knows somebody, how did they meet if she is not from this world. Many questions.
Nam turns to them “the Golgari are weirdos that think they worship the life and death cycles of the world, in reality, they are lead by an undead named Jarad Vod Savo. But don’t be fooled they have their henchmen and spies like any other guild. They usually leave us alone but now we are treading on their turf, so be on your toes.”
Bêlit's tone hardens. "They are murderers and thugs that killed... They killed m... they kill people for taking possession of items taken from tombs, whether they are there's or not. I have seen them do it. If some of them think it should be there's, they are not going to talk to you.
Tess nods in agreement. "That seems sensible, if someone could take the lead and let me know when we are near? As I was telling good Bêlit, I'm not so familiar with the area." Her voice is calm and measured, quiet, and almost toneless. She shifts to one hip and crosses her arms, tapping her foot.
After he has studied it for a bit, he passes it back to Tess.
"Well my suggestion is, we take Tin street down to Wayport, and see if we can get through there."
"Tin street is a wonderful place to see and buy all kinds of great materials for making things."
Ethanseyes glaze over as he thinks about Tin street, he is almost drooling, over the possibilities.
Snapping out of it, he continues.
"Anyway, Tin street and Wayport, are much nicer area's to go through. I'm not a fan of going directly to the Deadbridge Chasm, or trying to go through The Gorehouse, ether."
"One will be crawling (and I mean that literally) with Golgari and the other will be packed with Rakdos thugs."
After collecting everyone's names
(and faces)Tess will run up to Strank and look him over, marveling at the technology it must have taken to build him. She doesn't offer to greet him or ask his name as, it is clear from his previous interactions that he does not want to be disturbed. While she examines the automaton, she keeps and eye on Miss Stix, again doing her best to seem a model attendant, straight backed and ready to carry out whatever orders barked at her.~♡~
Belit makes her way over to Ethan and Nam "Gentlemen...I did not miss much, did I? You know I'm always late...I had those nightmares again last night and I just can't...well for another time right. At least I made it in time to be singled out as a oddity by our new master. This is not a prime world, I don't think much is odd in Ravnica. She seems to think we are the worst bunch of recruits she has had to deal with." Her speech is very clear and articulated. "And all of these others, things have changed havn't they." The Gorehouse, in the South-Eastern most part of the smelting quarter is one of the biggest public entrances to the underground, but probably one of the most dangerous as that's the playground of the Rakdos guild.

"It's going to be ok Belit, we will work together, to make sure that doesn't happen this time."
Ethan places a reassuring hand on Belit's shoulder, trying to comfort and calm her.
"I like Nam's suggestion, we try to get near the destination and then we scout, before we make a move."
"Having said that, just getting there could be a dangerous endeavour. We should all keep our wits about us."

Ethan finally take a look at the map, himself.
After he has studied it for a bit, he passes it back to Tess.
"Well my suggestion is, we take Tin street down to Wayport, and see if we can get through there."
"Tin street is a wonderful place to see and buy all kinds of great materials for making things."
Ethans eyes glaze over as he thinks about Tin street, he is almost drooling, over the possibilities.
