Okay, Eck, you're investigation turns up nothing immediately interesting in the main shop. For all intents and purposes it's a honest business with no secret tunnels or hollow walls. However, you do recognize the basic architectural style as belonging to a famous Izzet of years past who figured a cheap, and relatively good looking way to assemble a large building that can hold many apartments and businesses within, and know they often contain one or many basement boiler rooms. If there's indeed a secret entrance, that's as good a place as any to hide it, though also based off the zoning laws of the city, secret unapproved tunnels in boiler rooms of commercial/residential buildings is a big legal no-no.
Belit, Nam, and Ethan, you all find interesting books that if read and reflected upon, will improve the time and success rates of future research project pertaining to the books subject. (More on research projects and free time activities between missions when you finish this mission) Ethan, since it's a fiction book, we can rule that it simply gives you inspiration for future experiments.
Belit: Through your eyes-dropping, you are able to make out some smattering of words in their conversation without being obvious, but when you brave a peek, you can tell the red headed sister is staring over Tess' shoulders straight into your eyes with a smile that almost looks threatening in it's happy intensity, so you don't try to get any closer. What you do manage to make out is "Hoarding Knowledge, happy to help, your trade, responsibility." A pause in conversation "Responsibility that we once shared, brothers and sisters, dormant in test tubes in the lab, pull the plug" Pause in Conversation "Ask you a favor, passage to underground, price, what's at stake."
Tess: Your red headed sister's obnoxiously happy smile does not waver for a second throughout your explanation. A thought occurs to you that maybe a outwardly happy persona is her preferred mask for the world, and that she may not feel that way inside, especially if the calculating steel that shines subtly in her "happy" eyes is anything to go by. She lets out a over dramatic sigh that still sounds exasperatedly happy, and she pulls you further into the shop, to make any eyes-droppers have to be either very, very, sneaky, or very obvious.
"Listen Tess, appreciate the guilt trip and all, but trust me, I'm doing more help for them in here, doing what I do, then what I could ever accomplish in the Izzet. Maybe one day, you'll understand the sacrifices I have had to make, but until then, I'm sure you're doing the best you can do for them in Izzet. Here, I'll even throw you a family discount, at a whopping zero percent charge, that's right, you heard it, absolutely free of charge to use my entrance to the underground, under some conditions." Her grin widens, but there's something almost predatory in it now, like she's captured her goal and is wondering the best way to play with it now that it's in her clenches.
"One, a promise from you and your friends that any-word of the entrance or anything you've heard or seen about my side business's doesn't leave this shop. Two, you come and visit poor old me from time to time, maybe every month or so, pure social visits, no important mission that has all of Ravnica hanging in the balance." She says this last part with air quotes and a light hearted tone, but from the subtle facial and tonal shifts you've been noticing from her, she's preparing to drop the most important of her conditions. "And finally, three, I want periodic updates on the research your conducting in the Artificy lab. Don't ask how I know that, I don't want to lie to you, also, you don't have to tell me top secret classified info, but I do want a little more on the inner goings then the average citizen would hear. We can iron out this details on your next visit, right sweetie?" She keeps an unbothered attitude about the whole thing, that would probably convince the average citizen that what she's suggesting is totally normal, but you've been trained and have the common sense to know what she's asking you is somewhat important, and more importantly, somewhat illegal based off the rules and regulations of the Izzet. Sure, scientists may let out random facts and knowledge about their projects to their family after a long day of work, but they aren't supposed to give out that information freely, especially to people not associated with the guild. She's looking at you with expectant eyes, and a somewhat more serious face, but she seems pretty self-assured about the situation.
"See this part Nam? They talk about a really fantastic "Lightning Rail", its a large, long, transport, that moves large numbers of people all over the world."
"Imagine of we invented something like that one day. No more walking half way across the district, you could just get on the "Lightning Rail" and wosh, your there in no time at all."
"You could even go to other districts in just hours, maybe days for the far away places."
Ethantrails off, his imagination taking over use of his brain.
Tess stares Libs right in the eyes the entire time they are speaking, then down at something interesting behind her as she's wrapping up and stays staring for a moment considering. Her eyes flick back into a hard stare. "Of course Libs, if we can use your passage I'll agree to your terms. It might be hard to keep the others' mouth shut without a geas but we'll give them a strong talking to together like old times."
Tess picks at the dirt under one of her fingernails. "You know that I hate making promises I can't keep, but I will make it a priority to visit when I have free cycles. As for research updates, I'll do what I can, within the confines of my contract with the League. I won't jeopardize the safety of our brethren for... whatever it is you're doing, but whatever other information I can furnish is yours."
Nam listens to Ethan then laughs, “you think too small. We should build a device that splits space-time creating a worm hole between places so that we can travel instantaneous.”
Nam then finds a book describing a spell that fires a blast of flames and explodes on contact. “Now that would be a good weapon if we could make it work for everyone “ he says excitedly to Ethan.

Bêlittakes note of Libs looking at her and holds the book up higher to cover her face. She moves around, looking more intently for the occult related section while cursing under her breath the ravings of Namand Ethan, which she could now hear instead of Tess' and Lib's conversation. Did those two always have to ramble on about some new hair brain scheme. It was so Izzet and it was charming yet also frustrating!

Bêlit gives Nam what could only be described as a snarl... she was always the more grounded one of the three of them. She then holds up a finger to his lips to silence him, snapping shut her book on a extra planar realm called Sigil.
"There is a lot here we could all benefit from and I would not be opposed to visiting Libs again at a point in the future with you however..." she reaches out and closes Nams book "right now is not the time. How about we pay more attention to Tess and her.... sister" she says in a quieter tone "to make sure we fully understand the situation going forward and how we can return when things go sour with the Golgari."
She glances back at her book and the looks back at Nam. "So what ya say berk?" she adds in a more playful tone.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“Oh” Nam lets out quietly as Belit silents him. He looks around and spots Tess talking to her ‘friend’. Nam tries to play it cool like he is still consumed by the book he is holding while trying to listen in on them.
As Tess talks to her friend, and Nam and Belit pretend not to be trying to listen in, Ethan puts his book back on the shelf and walks over to Strank.
"Hey, so, what's it like to, you know, to be a construct? I mean, I think your fantastic, and I hope to one day be a tenth as good at construct design, as your creator."
Ethan's eyes run over Strank's body, admiring the intricacies of his construction.
“Question: invali, response not available. Searching for EMOTIONAL PROGRAMMING. Error: none found. Advice: instal emotional programming”
Stk 056 just stares blankly (maybe giving him a nickname could help. He also is speaking illegularly, maybe a remove curse spell could help with that and his emotions?)
