When you walk through a storm Hold your head up high And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm There's a golden sky And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind Walk on through the rain Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
Arxius and Rees each gain an inspiration die (1d6). For 10 minutes, they can add it to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. This can be added after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome.

Rees and Arixus begin to sneak up. The various animal sounds continue as you move closer, but it's really hard for you to pin point where they are coming from... You move forward ever so slowly and it takes you about a half hour to cross the half mile at this pace...
Once you do so you spot another rocky outcropping and hide behind it...
The noises are loud now.. whatever is making them is surely close.. but, you don't spot anything right away...
Glancing at Arxius Rees shrugs slightly and peeks over the rocks to try and get a better look.

By this time dawn breaks. You hear all three noises loud as ever and look up to see a creature like you have never seen before neighing, screeching, and howling down at you from the nearest outcrop just 300ft from you! You're not sure how it crept up like so easily, but it does not look friendly in the slightest... it also somehow seems to know your there peering out from behind your rocky cover...
Anybody know what in the Nine Hells that thing is?
DM Note: You're too far away to see it. Only Rees and Arxius crossed the 1/2 mile forward. It's now near them and they are separated from the rest of the party!
No problem. I thought the "three of us" was Alten, Grom, and Talien and it slipped passed them when they went out
I will try to be more descriptive/clearer :)
Edit: So, we've got Rees and Arxius behind some rocks with the beast facing them down about 150' away. Alten, Shake, Talien, and Grom remaining in camp behind their own rocky outcropping. The camp is about 1/2 mile from Rees and Arxius now. It is dawn, so daylight is approaching.
Grom will open his spell book in his left hand and begins talking to it..
"Wir müssen sie im Auge behalten. Wir müssen sehen, was da draußen ist. Wir müssen helfen, sie zu schützen. Was denken Sie?" The pages start to turn and anyone close and possibly hear it talking back in a mix of Dwarvish & Elvish. ("Schauen Sie durch seine Augen, lassen Sie sich von ihm leiten, legen Sie weite Strecken zurück.")
Grom will have the spell book cast Find Familiar as a ritual, but due to the awakened spell book casting it its instantaneous.
This time as Grom lays the charcoal from the fire on the book and it is consumed a White Owl Flys out and take to the Sky above Grom and Alten.
"Go Ungrim, watch over our friends"
While you are holding the book, it grants you the following benefits:
You can use the book as a spell-casting focus for your wizard spells.
When you cast a wizard spell with a spell slot, you can temporarily replace its damage type with a type that appears in another spell in your spell-book, which magically alters the spell’s formula for this casting only. The latter spell must be of the same level as the spell slot you expend.
When you cast a wizard spell as a ritual, you can use the spell’s normal casting time, rather than adding 10 minutes to it. Once you use this benefit, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
Rees just stares for a long moment at the creature, startled by the flick to her ear. Turning slowly she stares at Arxius and holds a finger to her lips to remind her friend to stay quiet. She uses two fingers from her eyes to point in the direction Arxius would need to look to see the creature, then points the fingers back toward them to indicate it's watching them as well. Once she's sure Arxius understands, she holds up three fingers and points to her head, mouthing three heads to make it more clear. By the time she's done silently explaining as best she can, her eyes are huge. Hopefully, Arxius will have a plan.
If they are .5 mile away from us (even if we know they are in trouble via the familiar) it will take us 7.5 minutes to reach them at a “fast” pace - good luck Reese and Arxius 😱

With Rees' report Arxius' eyes widen. She made a hand gesture they usually used for 'regroup', another for 'haste', and nodded back towards the camp. Leaning closer to her friend, she grabbed her neck and kissed her forehead. "Do not stop for anything," she breathed out as quietly as possible.
Swallowing hard, Rees will cast minor illusion 30 feet away from her and Arxius and create the sound of hoofbeats rushing toward the creature, hoping to distract it. As soon as the distraction happens, she whispers, "RUN." And will take off using her movement and bonus action to dash.

The owl head twists at the sound of the hoofbeats and lets out an ear piercing screech. The creature leaps down from its perch and charges directly for the rocks where Arxius and Rees were hiding behind very clearly ignoring the illusion...
Since this is a PbP going to speed this up.. the creature has 30ft of movement and can dash which matches the PCs movement.. so, the creature cannot actually catch up to you and close the gap before you make it back...
Arxius and Rees cross the distance back to the rest of the party with the creature hot on their heels, it is a harrowing half mile, perhaps the most exhausting the pair have ever ran... you can smell the stench of death on the creature as it relentlessly pursues you across looking for an early morning meal. The wolf head snarls and gnashes its teeth, while the other pair let out otherworldly screeches. Your hearts pound in your ears as you dash the last 90' towards the rest of the group who are....
[Fill in the blank for me.. how is everyone else preparing?]

I have so many regrets.Arxius sits against the rock watching Rees and waiting for her report. After a moment she flicks her earlobe to get her attention.
