"crr Wrong person... Close the cell." River gets out with some difficulty, eyes watering beneath her mountain of scarves and hats.

Taran slams his hand on the door, preventing it from closing as he hears the voice of a small child, for the first time his hands are trembling along with the rest of his body. He feels like a burning sword has skewered his guts.

"H-Helac? W-Why a-a-are you h-here?" He chokes out, "Th-This is wh-where they s-send p-people t-to punish th-them, d-d-did you d-d-do s-something t-to make S-Sulatesh an-angry?"

"Wrong person crr We have to go." River turns her head to look up at Taran, resting her hand on his. "We cannot save everyone."

Taran looks at River's hand, then up into her eyes, pain and despair clear in his gaze.

"D-Do y-you th-think th-that is what th-they said about us R-River?" he asks, voice thick, "D-Do you th-think s-someone s-saw wh-what was g-going to happen to us, or saw i-it wh-while it w-was happening, a-and said 'I-I c-c-can't s-s-save e-everyone' a-and didn't e-even try?"

Tears stream from Taran's eyes, "I-I c-can't d-do it. I-I can't leave a ch-child to s-suffer an e-even w-worse darkness th-than w-we s-suffered. C-Can you?"

Caelius wipes away his own tears and looks to Vishal, pointing to Vishal's forehead and then to his own. He then signs to Taran,

"You know nothing of darkness." River says simply, in a dark and scratchy voice that radiates unease. She then takes her hand away and walks out of the cell with one final glance towards the child, making her way to the cell immediately next-door and swiftly opening the lock, opening the door, and glancing in.

Taran numbly shakes his head at Caelius's sign, words failing him as his emotions toss his mind about like a kite in a storm.

Caelius frowns, and looks to Vishal for support.

"My uncle told me I was gonna sleep here!" Helac explains cheerfully. "He said this is the safest place in the whoooole Kintam, and I could sleep here while I was staying with him!"

Vishal looks to Caelius and nods, opening up his mind and being Caelius voice. 

River opens the next door to see another bare cell containing a Chosen with golden eyes and long red hair pacing back and forth. As the door opens, she turns a furious look on River. "What the hell do you want?" As Helac's voice floats into the cell, she freezes. "Oh dark spirits..."

"What is your name?" River asks the prisoner.

Caelius tells Vishal what he wants to say,

"Khelaar." The woman's eyes flash with real fear. "And you need to close that boy's door right now before he gets us all brutally murdered."

Liira, who's been watching all of what's been going on with a grim face, narrows her eyes at Khelaar and moves closer to Cell 6 silently, but lets River take the lead.

"Explain."

Taran nods at the boy, not really paying any attention to the other voices.

"Th-This i-is a v-very s-safe pl-place," he says quietly looking at the walls of crysteel, "B-But why d-do you n-need a s-safe pl-place to s-sleep? Is s-s-someone tr-trying to hurt you?"

Vishal sends a psychic message to Taran, 

“Taran. That boy is destined to become possessed. Like nothing we can do destined. There isn’t anything we can do for him. Caleius is pleading with you to please close the door.” 

Taran shakes his head.

Vishal translates for Caleius 

Khelaar shakes her head. "He's Sulatesh's ******* nephew. Anybody who messes with that boy is asking for death or worse."

Helac beams. "It's to keep me safe because I'm his nephew, and he doesn't want me to get hurt! Once, when me and Rio and Arthem were playing, there was a BIG GIANT ALTAVAR BIRD who swooped down at us and tried to EAT US!"
