Gwen shoots the thing: Attack: 16 Damage: 27
LOL oops on the damage roll but nat 20.... 17
Paavu save was supposed to be at DIS: 16
Corpse @ B: Attack: 18 Damage: 7
Gwen shoots at the sticky substance, apparently finding the perfect angle, and freeing both herself and Rose from the grasp of spider juice. And just in time too, Rose still feeling inspired. Paavu takes his shot, and it lands squarely, but softly... Coughing up a lung as he tries but fails to expel the necrotic ash from his body.
Burgee feels healing energy course through him, healing him slightly, before a dagger is thrown hard into the Spider things body, sticking there from the force. The creature finally makes its first real noise, sounding like the hellish chittering of a hundred ants.
Burgee goes full Mary Poppins and yeets himself out of the area, unfortunately for the corpse, he couldn't react in time. And as he does so, he channels his inner Emperor Palpatine, and shows the spider-thing what unlimited power looks like.
Paavu's attack hitting it just after the arced lightning found its target and charred half its body in a single instant. Chipping away more at it. But the creature still stood, hale and hearty.
The spiderthing feeling itself losing this fight, begins to flee across the roof at a breakneck pace.... the only one who can hit it (ao) being Paavu.... and unless his next attack deals (18 + damage) it manages to flee to the second story, breaking Burgee's connection, and escaping further harm as it makes its way ????
The only remaining mindful corpse chasing after Burgee for when he inevitably lands, and bringing both arms down in a heavy slam but misses. The other corpses nearby flail in terror still dodging, while the ones upstairs re-enact a scooby-doo chase scene.
Cirrus pauses, taking in the odd situation, "...Seems like none of these monsters" interrupting himself to stab at the one attacking burgee: 21 to hit; 9 damage, "except for that one" referencing the he just stabbed "Are paying attention to us. Should we just go? Get out before we get more hurt?"

AO vs Spiderthing: Action:Attack w/ Grol's Morningstar. To Hit: 11 For: 11 non-magical piercing damage on Spiderthing.
Even with only half a lung still functioning right, Paavu gets in another lucky swing against the spiderthing as skittered out of reach. He grunts, or tries to, but it comes out more coughing. "... No. Ambusher. We rest briefly... *cough*... after its... dead... Less anger... of it... sneaking up on us later... *cough cough*... while here."
Trusting the others to back him on it, but realizing at least one immediate threat remained as much, he too joined in trying to shatter the form of the one still assaulting Burgee. That is, assuming Cirrus doesn't beat him to the punch. Which if he did... Paavu would actually look mildly impressed before rushing his way up the stairs into a likely new trap. But one he'd willingly eat in place of the others...
Action:Attack w/ Grol's Morningstar. To Hit: 14 For: 9 non-magical piercing damage on Zombie still attacking Burgee(if still active. If not, Rush up the stairs).
End Turn Save[DC 10+]: 21. (If end turn save is 10, adding Cirrus' Bardic Inspiration to save 1.)
Burgee reaches out to Shocking Grasp the foul creature hoping to put it back to rest. (Attack: 14 Damage: 1)
Seeing Paavu head up the stairs, Burgee follows quickly behind. "That... thing... it needs a little more 'love' from my mistress," he says, with images of the raging seas storming through his head.

Trusting the others to take care of whatever enemies still remain Rose rushes over to Paavu and places a hand on his leg, letting holy energy heal him as much as possible.

I'll be right behind you big guy! Rose shouts to the Paavu as he starts up the stairs and (if possible) she would start to follow behind him.
After both Cirrus' and Paavu's attacks, the remaining ashen corpse falls limp. The ones who still stood, all terrified but still stuck within the goop left by the fisher, and thus flailed about uselessly. Paavu pounding his chest to force out a cough, and finally freeing himself of the ashen wind within his lungs, his attack on the Spiderthing having left another dent within its carapace. While Rose heals Paavu ever so slightly.
For a moment, it seems as though the corpse is about to collapse in true death, but instead.. rises again, to which Burgee tries to end it himself..... Electricity surges through it's body, and it once more falls to the ground.... but after the convulsing ceases.... it rises again.. Gwen growls out in frustration, pelting it in the head with a bolt..... and the creature falls .. Only to once again rise... death seeming beyond its Grasp...
It tries to take a swipe at Paavu as he leaved but finds some lingering levin halting its movements just a little longer.
Cirrus and Gwen are the only ones who didn't immediately rush upstairs, and the corpse... chooses to take a swing at Gwen.
Attack: 23 Damage: 7
Bashing her hard across the jaw, she lets out a cry of pain Augh!
Party is up. 4 corpses are feared, and one is apparently immortal because the dice say so.

(Since Paavu is unhurt apparently and per DM ok to retcon Rose instead casts Bless to affect Paavu, Burgee and Cirrus)
Rose was starting to follow Paavu when she heard Gwen get hit. Having not realized there was still one up (somehow) Rose cracks her neck and walks over to the Ashee corpse. Let someone with longer legs go upstairs. You're all mine. Gwen dear, I'll take the knees and you stick its head, just like old times! With that Rose charges in and swing her hammer with both hands at the ashen zombies knees, remembering to hold her breath just before she (possibly) hits.
Realizing the trouble, but seeing as Rose and Gwen appeared to have things relatively under control, Paavu bids them one last curt nod if either happen to look his direction, then continued on upstairs.Depending on the nature of the upstairs for the tavern, he'll start at whatever door or entryway appeared immediately open, and begin checking them one by one, fully expecting some other cunning surprise from the spiderthing.
Movement: Full 30ft to hopefully get upstairs and thensome.
If however in stabbing distance, give or take a few good steps, he marches over prepared to smack it what he hoped to be one last good time to end its struggles for life.
Action:Attack w/ Grol's Morningstar. To Hit: (4)27 For: 9 non-magical piercing damage on Spiderthing(if in reach).

Cirrus is going to follow Paavo, but before giving his rapier one more chance to shine by striking the seemingly unkillable corpse. 24 to hit, 11 damage.

Finally, the corpse falls after the second round of blows, Cirrus stabbing it for good measure. 4 remain frightened, Spiderthing is not found, and an ever thinning trail of black blood is heading towards a hole in the roof, along with Cirrus dagger. It seems it escaped to the outside. All the while the corpses attempt to flee into the corner, tripping over themselves.
"Uhm... Maybe we get out of here before these guys remember they don't like us?" Burgee says pointing down the stairs toward the zombies. He moves back down the stairs towards Rose and Gwen and keeps a sharp eye on the dunces in the corner and keeps a fireballready just in case they turn back towards the group.

(I dont know if this was clear so I'll clarify, Paavu see's the blood trail leading outside and the blood trail is obviously that of the spiderthing, so it escaped outside. I want to proceed but can't without further actions and I don't want to force actions that someone wouldn't choose to take)
Gwen taking stock of the situation, and looking around says I agree.... We should get out of here while the getting is good... there's no point in fighting everything in the area.
I'll get the big guy. The rest of you head outside and we'll be right behind you. Rose will head upstairs to look for Paavu. You ready to go Paav? Looks like your prey got away. I'm sure it learned not to stick its nose around us again.Rose smiles confidently as she awaits an answer.
Paavu clenches his one working fist tightly at his side, but did not so much as glance in Rose's direction. Not initially, at least, as something out else had his attention. Finally he lets out a tired sigh, and in turning to face Rose, finally notes the injured arm. "Assuming nothing with ambushers. Especially clever ones." He replied while applying pressure in places to examine the extent of the damage.
Seeing it was less a break and more a dislocation as result of his own toughness, he snorts, and moves as if readying to following Rose downstairs. "We fallback for now. Head back into that more fortified building we passed to the south for a brief reprieve." He states more than offers while passing her by. "After... we continue to the tower. The most likely meeting spot, past or present, for our adversaries." For all of his patience, he would at least put more pep to his step, once outside, if only to make sure any zombies weren't likely to follow after them.
(To all: Cleared up the nat20 damage effect with DM. Rollers had come back just in time to reveal the roller hadn't quite been max damage, but still rolled with another penalty for sake of current combat)
(And by fortified, I mean the only building we saw on our way in that still had all its walls, roof, and door at least intact.)

As Paavu approaches dow the stairs, Cirrus is going to take stock of everyone's wounds. He says out loud, but mostly muttering to himself, "What a pity it is that these people have suffered so much, my fault surely. It is as though by simply being here there is no hope to mend their aching bodies." As he says those words, his new staff (the one he got from Cragmaw) glows with a soft light that bathes the party (Burgee, Paavu, and Gwen in particular). When the light passes the party seems magically refreshed, and Cirrus stands there stunned staring at the rest of the party and looking at his staff.
I'm using my staff of healing to try and help out the party.
I'd like to cast Lesser Restoration on Paavu to see if that will fix his arm situation, assuming that still requires attention (I realize that it's not one of the listed conditions, I just thought I'd give it a try and hope for the best).

Rose will nod to Paavu and her smile fades a bit as she looks as his arm. That looks painful. You should let me look at that when we have a moment. Magic healing aside I am trained in more mundane methods of healing. When Paavu heads downstairs Rose follows behind, looking back at the hole in the ceiling one more time as if expecting the thing to come back and snatch her. She shudders and heads back down stairs.
When Cirrus attempts to restore Paavus arm Rose watches closely to see if it works. If it does great, if not she would reaffirm to Paavu that she should be allowed to tend to his wound once the party is out of danger. Rose would check her gear to make sure she has everything and then go to Gwem and lead the group to the one building that was left standing that they saw, all the while looking over her shoulder for that spider thing.
Paavu scoffs at Cirrus, and instinctively rejects the magic; or at least, any attempt at getting close enough to administer it. Yet, if capable of being done so from afar, he could not actually reject it. Not anymore than he could hold the son. But after the little light show, he would at least acknowledge it with a raised brow before continuing his previous thought. Before then, he clap try to snap his fingers at Cirrus, and motion sharply for him to head out the stairs.
And if given a confused look, he'd gesture over to the still flailing zombies before picking up his own pace outside. Once officially there, only then did he bother to address anything in more than an acknowledging look or a raised index finger for patience. "Firstly, these injuries would be so, with or without your presence, little blue. Why you continue to believe all woes visited upon others nearby is foolishness at best, arrogance at worst.... Something I believe I've said before." He states dryly while continuing down the road at a brisk pace.
"The world does not revolve around you. What happened was merely the result of our needing further experience and training. Of which, so long as we survive it, we will prosper. Or will die. It is as simple as such. Now. No more magic healing. As said to Rose, we will rest back at other house. Try to mend with more mundane methods, before burning through any more reserves."
