Rasa embraces Genny and Astra tightly with both his arms and his wings. "This is a sad day. But while many relationships burn bright and then smolder out, true friendship is a flame that burns forever. Good luck, mis amigos. May we see each other again soon."
"Just as a controlled burn extinguishes life so that new life can grow, es no sopresa that as we watch the flames of our friends Astra and Genny dim as they drift further into the distance, two new embers emerge to take us by surprise. Bienvenido, Lydia and Swiper. I am Ah'brasar, but you can all me Rasa if that is más fácil. Your timing is que estupendo."
Rasa will be forthcoming about their past experience with giants, including their meeting with the cloud giants in the castle above, in an attempt to bring their new companions up to speed.
"And do not worry, mis amigos nuevos; we are welcoming to new friends in our own way, yes? I only joined this party recently as well, but while my companions can be..." he looks to Derrikoth "...err, a bit stodgy, and..." he looks to Nirzeg "...err, a bit prickly at times as well, they are skilled warriors and, in their own ways, burn bright with the fires of loyalty and friendship."
At some point before evening is upon you, a messenger from the Griffon Cavalry captain arrives at the inn. He address Derrikoth, Rasa, and Nirzeg, though he acknowledges Lydia and Swiper with a short bow.
"My good sirs, my Captain wishes to know what you call yourselves. An inquiry is being made to the office of the Open Lord on the subject of remuneration, and they wish to know what entity is requesting freelance funds. It's all a bit fussy, but apparently there are forms to fill out. Does your...eh...group...have a name?"
"Prickly? Hah! ****er, I am Selune blessed Delight, thank you very much." Nirzeg chuckles. "Anyhow. Seems you two are in! Good. Tomorrow we're headed for Mount Sar, so you best be prepared fer a trek." He downs the shot of Ale meant for Swiper, seeing as he refused it, and following a satisfied 'Ah!', hops out of his seat.
Just as it looks as if the Gith might be ready'n to take his leave, he Gith pauses at the sight of the Cavalryman. "Shit. We ain't never talked about that, now did we? Hmm... perhaps the Departers? Or maybe the Last Delights? I dunno.. What'chu two at least think?" He asks Derrikoth and Ah'brasars.
"But of course, we are the...errr..." he looks at Derrikoth "...the courageous..." then to Nirzeg "...calamitous..." then around at his new companions "...err, collective...of..." another scan of the room, his eyes landing on a female blue tiefling at the bar drinking a glass of milk "...of milk...milkmen. Si, yes, that's right. The Courageous Calamitous Collective of Milkmen. Or, err, C3M, for short."
He smiles. "And if you flip the three around to make an E, you can call us 'Cem'! Simple, yes? Or maybe you pronounce it 'see-threem'...or 'creem'?"
The new day is sunny, with an occasional puff of breeze coming from the Sea of Swords. After a hearty breakfast, you find yourselves ready to begin the hike towards Mount Sar. You have the option of a forced march, which would get you there around sunset today and run the possibility of fatiguing you; or taking it easy by splitting the journey into two days. (As a reminder, your horses and carriage are back in Everlund)
"Two days to and two days back. With a day or two in between for any shecannary found on the way.... Yea. Not exactly the most favorable, but it beats try'na kill ourselves rushing ahead like chickens without heads. Especially if its only to find out the chowder head isn't even there." Nirzeg snorts. "Anyhow... unless there's some objections, let's get to stepping."

"Once we are out of the city, I will stay to the skies and keep my eyes peeled. Pero, I can fly faster than most of you can walk, save for Big Blue's, err, equine companion. Should we find the local livery and rent some steeds for the rest of you? Only worth it if it saves us a travel day, yes?"
"And when our steeds are inevitably consumed by some wildling or beast because we -- also inevitably -- reached a point they cannot carry us, YOU will pay for the loss, my flamboyant friend? If so, then why not! But if not, I do not like wasting money on short time investments, or owing a ****er for mismanaging their goods. No matter how convenient or "cheap" they may be." Nirzeg replied.

The City of Splendors is already bustling in the morning, with street vendors out in full force. The City Guard are on patrol as well, and many an eye are being cast to the sky, where Count Nimbolo's massive castle still floats.
Getting out of the city is easy, as it involves following clearly marked road signs. The road to the north gate leads through the Field Ward, a much-impoverished area that lay between the inner and outer walls on the north end of the city. The road is kept clear of beggars by the City Guard, but the squalor and destitution is plain to see as you make your way out of the city.
The broad, well-maintained High Road jaunts along the coast for a ways before you must make the cross-country trek towards Mount Sar. It looks like a warm journey ahead, with only the occasional cloud in the sunny sky.

Aside from making sure Durnan knew where to send any follow-up messengers for delivering their reward to, Nirzeg breaks out some type of cobbled together umbrella for the trip. And if any give him the side eye for doing so, he clings to it all the more and goes 'Mine'. No matter how things go, Nirzeg pays is general apathetic about the passing surroundings, as he chooses to pay just above the bare minimum for any trouble over the horizon. However, Zeek is far more active, and flies along beside Ah'brasar throughout much of it, keeping a closer eye on things.
The day wears on as you trudge along in relative silence. Your skin feels warm under the sin, and the warmth is accompanied the smell of wildflowers.
After several hours you make it into the foothills surrounding the Sword Mountains. Here lie ruins of old kingdoms, remnants of ages past. They stand as gravestones, unmoving markers—except for that one, over there. It moved. And another one, too.
Giants. A group of four stone giants is moving among these ruins, demolishing them and pounding them into the ground. And just when you have seen them, they appear to have seen you, too! They are all about 200 feet away (give or take ±30 feet, your choice individually)
Roll initiative please! Anyone who rolls a 8 or higher can act immediately.
These stone giants aren't the friendly types, you can tell, as they stoop to pick up rocks to throw at you...

"Annnd here we go again."Nirzeg, if not the first, is certainly a close second when it comes to racing along to meet the challenge that was the stone giants. Though as he ran, a quick few finger snaps in a Z-formation causes his shadow to extend and split into several dopplegangers at his side with arms splayed behind them, and stance kept low as they charged forth.
Meanwhile, a worried Zeek just flies ahead as much as he can, like the brave little fool that he was!
