Otrov let’s loose the bolt from her readied action: Attack: 10 Damage: 10
16 - initiative
Okay, so I think Otrov gets advantage on this roll and sneak, since she has advantage. Since the creature hasn't taken a turn yet, assassinate applies (as per our PM convo, Bhuralea). Attack:16Damage: 10. sneak attack (5
So that was her readied action (if you allow it).
Her regular attack, if the guard has not taken an action, or if Marco is doing a flyby:
Attack:15Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. and sneak attack again (which just requires advantage) - 7
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Readied Action:
Action: L. Shot at 1st enemy seen. (Readied Attack)L. Crossbow - To Hit: 16 For: 10 non-magical piercing damage.
Seeing at least, maybe, probably, Margret charge into the room drawing a blade after Dain opened it, and other following suit, Nobody held his shot intending to cover the retreat if it came to it. At such he expected, as the narrow corridor and door frames did not fill him with the confidence of peering around a bend for a better shot. Not without getting too closer, and perhaps... not without darker feelings getting the better of him. Again.
As soon as Dain opens the door a crossbow bolt flies past him and strikes the zombies head. It wasn‘t well aimed, but the creature is to slow to dodge it. Dain also hastily releases his cold energy ray and also hits the slow zombie. The creature stumbles and (6) falls to the ground. As the creature hits the cold stone floor, several piles of bones start to move and knit together into skeletons that pick up whatever rusted weapon is near. Otrovs second arrow hits the first one that got up, but the bolt flies through the exposed ribcage without doing to much damage. More and more scelotons begin to rise and march towards you and the open door. A total of 8 skeletons get up. Margret and Nobody wait for any of them to get within striking range, but the undead can not get past Dain who is blocking the door. The three closest ones to him attack the dwarf:
skeleton 1 vs Dain Attack: 23 Damage: 5
skeleton 2 vs Dain Attack: 13 Damage: 6 (1/2 cover)
skeleton 3 vs Dain Attack: 7 Damage: 5 (1/2 cover)
Dain has only theater of the mind, so i will exclude Otrov from the Thunderweave spell for this turn. He is right next to you Dain.
Margret you need to come up with a different action, you can not reach any oponents with the sword from there. I will allow Marco to fly in and out, as a combination of flyby and because everything is two sices larger then him.
Also, just say who Marco assists and that person has advantage on the next attack.
The first two skeletons make their saves, but Otrovs bolt earlier already damaged the first one to the point, that even the small damage is to much and it crumbles to the floor. Skeleton 3 fails its save, but because it is surounded by walls and more skeletons, it is knocked prone instead.
(does anyone got an official ruling what happens if you get pushed into another pc/npc?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After some more reading i go with Crafords tweet and the 15ft cube faces away from Dain in a direction of his choice (into the room obviously).
77 skeleton 4 and 7 save ; 5,6 and 8 fail.
4 skeletons (3,5,6 and 8) are getting pushed away and tumble across the room, while a loud boom echos through the tunnels. There is quite some space now to enter the room.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nobody flinched at the loud noise, but its not what hold his attention for long. Instead, he found himself nervously glancing back and straining his ears to catch even the slightest sound of scrabbling feet or heavy footfalls of enemies yet attracted to the noise. Although a small part of him held out hope that it would be ignored as just an off beat boom from the one earlier, Nobody could only fool himself so much.
Otrov‘s little body shakes with the deep rumble of the thunder wave, and she instinctively braces her self, looking around. “Whoa! It’s like Grandma Malo’s House after her famous chilli dinner! Thankfully, it’s less stinky.”
She will step out of the way for more fightery types to pass through.
