Nobody tried to muster a smile at Margaret's enthusiasm, but it proves to be a fleeting one. All the more so when Otrov got to mention the swear words. Although instead of the frown it started to become, he cringed, and then looked away holding himself in embarrassment. Between this and the subsequent conversation from Kai and the rest, it takes a good while for the tiefling to work up the courage to actually speak. "While I cannot say I'm exactly eager to mess with the maze... I agree. Perhaps the Black Spider -- if they are already here -- went that way, and cleared out any and all undead that way. "
He frowns. "And not alone, if that so called sleeping bugbear was any indication." Nobody then looks to Margaret. "And f-for the record, my... situation is not nearly as.. uhm..." He grabs his tail and held it close to his chest. "... L-let's just say my family went to a lot of lengths over the generations to undo an ancestors mistake making a deal with a demon prince... And unfortunately, after a mix-up using the wrong type of draconic blood at some point, the bad qualities got amplified... I was prepared by my teacher for when these things were to manifest, but..." He shrugs haplessly and smiles tentatively while adding to his point. "Preparation can only go so far."
She stops chasing the moth (do I catch it?) when she sees the others talking (and when she grows bored of the moth). She bounds over and spurts out, "I think going back to that big furry thing in the mushrooms might be a good idea. If we can somehow drag it out of there and tie it up, maybe we can get some information from it? Believe it or not, I'm pretty good at getting people to tell me things...pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good." She rocks back and forth on her heels a bit, nodding to the rest. And, she thinks darkly to herself, I'd love to try out my new poison and see how the bugbear's face might fit over my own...
Sebastian and Marco fly of for a moment to explore the nearby tunnels. The floor is made from stone slabs and neither of the two see any sights of someone being dragged along here.
The tunnel south leads to a collapsed tunnel and two closed doors, one east and one west. You can hear movement behind the door.
The two tunnels north intersect with each other and then split into three tunnels going north. The west one splits up into several interconnecting tunnels and leads NW into the direction of Nobodys familiar. The central one is blocked by a door and the one east leads to a half collapsed room (not on the map) and a closed door.
The tunnel east leads to an open cave. Dense carpets of weird fungi cover large sections of the floor in this cavern. The growth includes puffballs a foot across, weird shelf fungus growing on stalagmites, and large stalks and caps a good five feet tall. Some of the puffballs glow with an eerie green phosphorescence. Within all the fungi lies the fresh corpse of a bugbear.
"What do you know about fungus Otrov? I heard they are poisonous, I think that's why we did not go that way"
Still a bit upset at the goblin-on-moth violence of recent times, Otrov purses her lips in concentration. [She tries to recall anything about fungii, puffballs, or mossy ingredients to help Margret out].

"It's a bit hard to know out here. But if we go back in maybe we could get some samples and I could figure it out. The hard part will be getting samples without hurting ourselves...I am not sure if that bugbear was sleeping or dead but if we want to do that, we best be careful,"she says to the group. Damn! she thinks to herself. I could've bought fishing tackle before I left! Oh well... "Is anyone resistant to poisons or toxins or anything like that? If not, maybe we should see if we can make some anti-toxin....if this Black Spider you keep talking about is anything close to, well, a spider, we could be in for a bit of a terrible sit-chee-ashun, if you get my meaning!"
"To give you more detail, the forge had huge bellows and a water wheel and a channel with no water. That's what I remember before we retreated back here."
"We're not going that way my friend, there must be another way around. But we are going to the west for now. Though I bet your skills we'll need soon. "
Nobody watched the back and forth, but kept quiet. While there may have been something to the halfling's assertions, there was plenty there against it as well. Why would the blackspider risk their men setting up shop past potentially deadly fungal infested fields? Or themselves, even if they were somehow resistant to most poisons? There was the one path just south of the door they hadn't --
"H-huh?" He startles and glances about the others. Realizing they were readying to leave, the tiefling followed suit and pushed back the errant self-inquiries. "R-right. West it is then? O-okay. T-tymora willing, they did go that way. And if so, considerably less undead for us to deal with I imagine." At that, Nobody chuckled while mentally sending Karasym off ahead down the west path again to scope out the area. This time focusing more on the Further Western tunnels, seeing as some did lead down the presumed middle of the mines and its former undead occupants.

"Well I guess it's time to go, but let us three do a little scouting with our familiars but just to be careful Dain, please look in the trench and around us with yours for anything invisible Dain before we do"
You discover an intersecting knot of tunnels. The ceilings here are only six feet high, and several of the passages end in partially excavated rock faces. No bones or undead litter the empty tunnels.
Sebastian discovers it first, alarmed by an odd acid smell in the north western section of the passages it slows down and carefull sniffs around. After carefully looking Sebastian discovers a slight distortion at an intersection. The whole intersection seams to be filled with a transparent acid smelling substance or forcefield. Dain, this reminds you of the slime creatures in the Temple excavation, just bigger and transparent.
Dain is able to guide Sebastian to alarm the other two familiars before any of them could come to harm.
Yes, but the thing it needed to spot was transparent, motionless and soundless, so seeing and hearing didn‘t help much. Blindsight and smell on the other hand would give it away wich is why the other two still got to roll twice. Fun fact, for Karasym those two rolls are advantage within 10 ft and disadvantage beyond that at the same time, because of the short range of blindsight.
