"Too much yelling. And not another one of these.". Toonary gets to his hooves and lifts his fists almost ready to fight, but nowhere near standing tall.
Fireborn holds up his hands in a placating manner. "Peace my friends. I assure you that you will be paid a fair wage for your Patrol tonight." He assures Gridolpho, and Toonary.
Maya did not look impressed. She’d have both hands on her hips. Not that she had high expectations of their meetings, but this whole scene was a little over the top even for them. Mostly the rude attitude towards their employer rubbed her the wrong way, considering he seemed to have been amused and understanding with Toonary at first. Heck the man noticed it in Toonary before she did.
The druid would tap her foot staring at the lightfoot on the table. “Explain. Now. Or I’ll web you in a corner for the spiders to feast on.” Her brow would pop. She was not angry or mad per se, she was just a little disappointed and curious to know the root of the cause.
The rest of thCe day passes without further incident, and you now find yourselves sitting in the Council Room of Saltmarsh's modest city hall. In the room with you are the representatives of several factions..
(2) Lizardfolk Scale Shields (Garut, and Vyth) representing their Queen.
(1) Merfolk Salvager .(Aryn)
(1) Locathah Hunter. (Sakith)
(5) Saltmarsh Council Members. (Eda Oweland, Gellan Primewater, Eliander Fireborn, Manistrad Copperlocks, Anders Solomar.
Eda calls the meeting to order, and once everyone is paying attention she explains that an allied force is being assembled to strike a Sahuagin fortress that was once the Ancestral Home of the Lizardfolk. Before the Strike can be executed, a small group needs to make a reconnaissance of the fortress. She looks at the Party. "We're hoping that we could employ your unique skill sets in this endeavor." She states.
"I... we... will do whatever we can to help... where is this ancestral home of the lizardfolk? " she asks to the assembly but looking at the Queen's emissaries.
Eda motions to Garuk, and he produces a crude map of the area that identifies where their Ancestral Home, now the Sahuagin Fortress lies. The Fortess occupies an island in the estuary of the Javan River, about 50 miles west and south of Saltmarsh. A coastal headland covers one flank of the island, which is connected to the mainland by a stone causeway. Garuk goes on to elaborate more on the ancient home of his kin.
The lair is a three tier cave system inside a rocky island. Lizardfolk scouts have reported that the island seems to have sunk into the surrounding sea, leaving only the top 1/3rd visible from above the water.
The main entrance is now a large cave that faces the seacoast.
The Lizardfolk made few changes to the place, only adding stairs to connect the levels.
"Undoubtedly the Devilfish have added their own modifications."Garuk remarks to everyone presents. Eda thanks Garuk, and turns to Captain Fireborn. He stands, and addresses the Party. " Here are the 4 objectives for the Mission. These must be accomplished if you want to get paid." He states.
Determine the strength of the sahuagin forces. How many warriors, lieutenants, and other battle ready troops are present.
Locate important areas within the fortress: where are the warriors quartered. Same with officers. Most importantly, where are the leaders housed.
Discover any notable defensive measures: traps, areas specifically readied for defense, and other dangers the attacking force must avoid or overcome.
Discover how advanced the sahuagin preparations are and when they might mount their attack.
"I cannot stress this enough. Your goal is to gather information without attracting attention to yourselves. Above all else Do Not Get Captured! The sahuagin are masters of torture."Eliander warns.
Maya would open and close her mouth a couple times. She was at a lost. She didn’t know what happened, and apparently it was going to remain a secret. So with that, the druid would decide to move on and prepare for the meeting.
While at the meeting, the druid couldn’t help but lean in to whisper to Seethe as they started listing off their demands. “Did you bring a pen?”
Maya would do her best to commit everything they’ve said and demanded to memory, on top of having to prepare for their patrol tonight. They were going to get fed right?

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. No need ta go breakin' Rule Number Three here, Toonary. 'Specially in yer state. I can handle this."

Fireborn holds up his hands in a placating manner. "Peace my friends. I assure you that you will be paid a fair wage for your Patrol tonight." He assures Gridolpho, and Toonary.
“And...?”

"Would 10 gold each suffice for a four hour patrol of the docks?" Asks Eliander.
“Still ain’t hearin’ an apology for the slur. Make it 20.”
DCI: 3319125026
"15, and not a coin more. I do have a budget to maintain after all." Replies Fireborn crossing his arms.
“Then mebbe ya should be careful about tha slurs and apologize.”
Gridolpho gets up ONTO the table between them idly scratching at his right forearm.
“20 and an apology or we pooch the meeting AND let the dockers rot.”
DCI: 3319125026
Eliander stares for a moment at Gridolpho. " My apologies if I gave offense. 20 it is." With that he turns and walks away.
Gridolpho keeps his jaw jutted out until Eliander walks out and then turns around. Seeing Toonary’s fists raised he says
”Ok. That’s NOT my fault. “

"Explain what? That puffed up bigjob called me that word. I stood up for my people. Call the extra money a bigotry tax.
As for the knuckle tattoos on Toonary?"
The thief scratches his forearm again.
"What can I say? The state we were in, five outta six ain't bad. So what if it says 'GEIFER'?"

Seethe puts a gentlle hand in Toonarys fists and lower them.
"It's ok my friend. He has apologized and will neveer treat anyone this way" she looks back "right?"

At the meeting:
