Fae watches the eyes of the large, wild attacker change from a ferocious focus to panic and confusion all in a fraction of a second as her spell takes hold. In an instant, however, those same eyes are frozen along with the man himself, his greataxe in mid swing. (Advantage against this guy for all Attack rolls).
Elra's spell is just as effective as two of the younger redbrands drop their crossbows and flee, leaving one from their trio remaining, looking confused and scared. When a massive elephant appears out of the ground a second later all can feel the ground shake as Horton stomps his feet angrily. Trumpeting loudly, Horton sends the last of these young men fleeing all the same.
Zeke presses his attack and the Redbrand Captain attempts to parry yet again. Just when Zeke thinks he may be once again thwarted by the man's skill, he feels a slight rush of inspiration and clarity and his blade glides just past that of the Captain, biting into the man's shoulder with a purple flair of energy. Wincing the Captain instinctively grabs at the shoulder, looking a bit less confident than before after several successful attacks from the group. This is only compounded further as Ethan's cannon wallops the man, sending him staggering away from Zeke and leaving him looking like he's in pretty bad shape now. Ethan himself has similar success shocking the very surprised Redbrand in front of him.
Many of the redbrands having been scattered in one fashion or another, only two of those remaining make attacks against the party in this moment. One leads a trio of attackers down the alleyway between buildings to meet Tarja, the lead man's first attack being rather half-hearted and failing in the presence of the druid and her roar. The man facing down Ethan seems to suffer from a similar lack of commitment to his attack, slapping his sword against Ethan's substantial armaments to no effect. Most of the party does notice four men hurriedly round the corner near the center of town and the Stonehill Inn, however. They begin loading and raising more crossbows to bear against the party.
Rolled 3+7 damage for Zeke, plus 6 for searing smite since the dice roller appears to have messed up in Zeke's post. If you corrected this elsewhere before I did and missed it, let me know.
Sorry for the delay everyone! You're really kicking their butts!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Not having time to fully transform into an animal form, Tarja settles for partway there, letting her teeth grow into fangs and fingers turn into claws. She tears into the Redbrand in front of her: Primal Savagery, Attack: (Bless)1 + 10 for Acid Damage: 6
She can't see what's going on back there with Horton to give any specific commands, and calls out attaboy! Keep going for the red ones attacking us!
Fae’s eyes, still black as ink, will peer at the Captain from behind Zeke’s hulking silhouette. She’ll watch the startled Redbrand pan the group as he briefly considers Arvel’s suggestion. The wizard will feel their eyes meet after he looks over their protector. A small smirk will creep up on Fae’s lips, revealing her dimpled cheek. She’ll wink.
The Redbrand Captain instantly becomes enthralled with Arvel's magic, the warlock potentially tapping into the real doubts the man was now having about this conflict. Looking at his might companion frozen by Fae's spell, he does indeed raise his arms up high and says "stand down, men!" "Drop your weapons and surrender. We will live to fight another day!" One by one the confused Redbrands, even the one Tarja has just slashed with her feral attack, slowly surrender the fight. They look around at each other and back at their Captain, a bit perplexed.
At about the same time, familiar faces begin emerging from buildings in town. Sildar Hallwinter and Daran Edermath, the silver haired half-elf and retired adventurer the party met on their way out of town, emerge from the Stonehill Inn armed and ready to join in the fray, only to find they've already missed the excitement. They immediately move towards the newly arrived redbrands with crossbows and take their weapons away. A second later they are joined by Sister Garaele, the elven cleric of Tymora brandishing her holy symbol and Linene Graywind from the Lionshield Coster, who is sporting a finely crafted crossbow. The party even sees the Stonehill family, Trilena and Toblen, stick their heads out of their inn, armed with what appear to be crude spears, although looking hesitant to have to use them.
From the north a voice can be heard calling"ho ho, what a display this is!" "Did we miss all of the fun?" Elmar Barthen of Barthen's Provisions, the balding dwarf with the white beard, is still sporting his leather apron and looks eager to enter the fray with a sizeable hammer of his own.
Sildar and the townsfolk were scheduled to enter this round, so they'll just be doing so with different circumstances than expected!
Anyone who would like to can make a Perception check to see if they notice anything else.
"You may have missed a bit of fun, but your noble efforts will be much needed. Now, let's round them up and figure out how to change this dangerous regime! Avante!"
Tarja reverts back to normal dwarf form, and, seeing the redbrands being disarm, scurries over to check on Horton.
I haven't even had a chance to meet you yet! Well done Horton, well done. We'll be able to have a nice talk and real introductions once things quiet down a bit! We've got a day before you turn back into a statue.
Are there any more of them around here, or did we get them all? Give me a lift, will you, so I can take a look?
She has Horton lift her up onto his back, and takes a look around, trying to survey the scene and see if there's anybody else suspicious watching them, maybe more Redbrands or anybody else. Perception: 15
"Right Captain"replies the dwarf, turning towards the Redbrands Tarja had sent circling some of the buildings. "Hey, you, get over here!" He heads off rounding the buildings to the East of the road to disarm some of those men.
Tarja is one of the first to notice a cloud of fog rapidly forming down past the Stonehill Inn near the town center.
She also catches a brief glimpse of two figures watching these events from beyond the town square. One is a round man dressed a bit like a banker that reminds her of the townmaster they caught a glimpse of, Harbin Wester. He is accompanied by a tall, thin, well dressed woman who is likely Halia Thornton, the woman who runs the miner's exchange. Unlike many of the other notable townsfolk that the party has met, they do not appear to be armed or eager to help with the town's fight back against the Redbrands.
From atop Horton, Tarja also sees Qelline Alderleaf and a handful of other local farmers she recognizes hurrying from various directions towards the center of town, each armed with some sort of farming implement and looking intent on sticking up for their town finally now that the party has provided the help and courage they all needed.
For anyone still wanting to roll Perception for RP purposes, although it is not critical for everyone to do so... (also feel free to just apply your Passive Perception if you like)
DC10 to notice the fog cloud in the town center.
DC15 to notice Harbin and Halia, and also the farmers coming to help.
Seeing his foe throw up his arms, Zeke pulls his next blow in midstroke, the massive blade whizzing inches from the Captain's face.
As the cold fury he summoned bleeds from his body, the tiefling spins his halberd down and slides it into it's sheath in one fluid motion. As he does, he steps forward and disarms the Captain before turning to the large brute in front of Arvel, disarming him and shoving him back from the party.
Moving decisively, Zeke works to disarm the remaining Redbrands and move them to their knees or into positions where he can secure them. Looking to Sildar, the tiefling nods his head indicating the grizzled warrior should see to Gudrun, effectively shifting responsibility for the dwarf from the party to his old friend.
Finally, the barbarian takes a moment to see to his wounds, many of which are bleeding freely and threaten to take the warrior out of any fight to come if he can't find time to tend them properly.

Fae will hold concentration on her magic until Zeke disarms the large redbrand bully. She'll blink away her blackened eyes, returning them to their vibrant purple pupils. Feeling more at ease, the wizard will pan her surroundings.
Perception: 18
Though, it wouldn't take much for her to zone in on their bleeding protector who had been exchanging blows with the Captain. While Elra tends to Gundren and speaks with Sildar, Fae will trot over to their tiefling, pulling out her healer's kit. She'd hesitate a moment, knowing that her abilities were still very limited with it. She had fully intended to train her skills further but forgot... "Um..." She'll glance up at him for a moment, "I'm sure there are bandages in here..." Then look down to rummage through the kit. Remembering someone who had emerged to join their fight, Fae will look up in the direction she had recognized the welcoming face. "Garaele!" The wizard will toss a hand up to flag the elven cleric over. "Can I ask for your assistance..." There was no magic in her repertoire that could mend wounds, no matter how much she'd hope for it. Fae would look back to Zeke, "I trust she can mend your wounds more efficiently than I." she had even considered asking Garaele to the one to train her to use her healer's kit.
(When you forget to pick a feat you had planned at lvl 4... lol)

Going to keep this moving since most players have had a chance to chime in and we're still on a 6 second iteration timeline for now... Ethan, etc. please of course feel free to RP what you'd be doing at the moment of Redbrand surrender...
Already headed in the direction of Fae and Zeke, Sister Garaele smiles widely at them and touches Fae on the shoulder. Shifting her hand to Zeke, she casts Cure Wounds, 12
The redbrands continue to follow instructions, abandoning their weapons and kneeling, although many are looking around at each other, surprised to have given up the fight so quickly.
Meanwhile as the fog takes over the town square, those with a 15+ Perception who are paying attention see the shape of a figure inside the fog. For a brief glimpse, they catch a glimpse of what appears to be the top of a staff. It is not a dark spider staff however, but rather a shiny, silvery and rather ornate one.
Suddenly a gem or something of the sort is tossed from the fog and shatters on the ground, releasing a mote of elemental energy. Erupting rapidly from that spot is a large fire elemental. It immediately begins violently swinging at anyone or anything in its path, whether it be the Inn or those nearby.
The fire elemental rolled poorly so it will take the Redbrand's spot at the bottom of our current initiative order. We can just resume at the top of the order with Arvel, allowing you all to have a turn before the elemental due to its poor roll.
The fog cloud immediately starts to break up as a light breeze moves through the center of town, but no figure can be seen within. There is a faint smell of sulfur on the air for just a moment. (Any whose character is somehow well versed in magical studies, the arcane, etc. feel free to make an Arcana check.)
Sildar smiles widely when it is pointed out to him that Gundren is there, huddled next to the brazier. He begins walking over, relieved to see his friend. When the elemental appears from out of almost nowhere, he picks up the pace, eager to get to his friend and keep him from danger. Moments later he can be seen escorting Gundren away from danger.
Fae would smile in relief as Sister Garaele would approach to lend a hand. She'd dip her head in gratitude for her help. Though, her smile would quickly fade when she'd look back up to see a large fire elemental emerge before them. "I did not foresee this coming..." The wizard would catch herself frantically patting Zeke's arm to get his attention to look forward, whether he already was or not.
She'll look over to Tarja and Horten close by, then over her one shoulder to Arvel, then shift her head to look over the other shoulder to Elra then to Ethan who had never let his guard down. Fae will nod. Giving Zeke's forearm a bit of a squeeze she'll lean in to whisper to sister Garaele, "We can buy some time in the first round to finish tending his wounds and for everyone to get organized for whatever's to come."
-Ready action from here for when it's actually Fae's turn-
The wizard will step out from around the cleric to work her way forward. Fae will hum a soft melodic tune and with each step she'd start to glitch, until finally, she takes her last step forward upfront, leaving enough room for Tarja and Hornton to come through, she'll snap her fingers. Mirrored copies of the dark-robed wizard will appear around her.
The Redbrands seem a bit unsure of what to do, but certainly don't act aggressively towards the party or the townsfolk. One picks up his scimitar yet again but looks at it and the fire elemental, asking aloud to no one in particular "can we even hurt that thing?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
From her vantage point on top of Horton, Tarja gets a clear look at the rampaging fire elemental. She tosses a few drops of water from her flask in it's direction, which solidify in the air and turn into an Ice Knife which impacts the elemental and shatters. (Attack: 3 + 10 Piercing Damage: 6. Then, DC14 Dex save for 8 cold damage.
She lets the spikes to the north recede into the ground to give the townsfolk a clear evacuation route (drop concentration on Spike Growth), and calls out to them Everyone who can't fight, get out of Horton's way, and get buckets of water to put out any fires this thing starts!
Horton, let's stamp out the fire!
She then holds on for dear life as Horton barrels south.
Looks like based on the distances, probably nobody can get into melee range of it this round. Ice knife's 60-ft range is either just enough to hit the elemental from where I am now, or if it's not then I can hold the casting until Horton gets me in range. (Or I guess I could dismount and walk a few spaces, but where's the fun in that!)
