Fae would rest her own damaged hand over Sildar’s. “Wisdom is plenty valuable.” Her smile was encouraging. Sure enough, he imparted her with wisdom about Gundren which tugged the corner of her smile into a grin. “Thank you Sildar. I appreciate that advice.” Her head would tilt slightly as she’d wink. Although being a little playful with the retired soldier, she was genuine with her words. She’d take his seriously, honestly appreciating what he shared with her. The wizard would be sure to discuss his suggestions with the others.
When Sister Garaele would gesture to Fae, she’d excuse herself to chat. “How are you doing?”
Sildar smiles when Fae puts her own damaged hand on his, but then blushes when the young wizard winks at him. "Um... yes, yes of course Fae. I shall be ready if you all have need of me, and will otherwise keep an eye on things here. I wouldn't call myself much of a leader, but it's something these folks seem to be missing. Some good folks here, mind you, but even Daran seems to welcome being put out to pasture at his age. Much like myself I suppose, at least when not letting the Rockseeker boys talk me into a 'simple' trip to Phandalin for a business venture, that is!" When mentioning keeping an eye on the town he glances down the street in the direction of the townmaster's hall where Arvel is current imprisoned.
Sister Garaele instinctively rubs the back of her head despite the quick repair of healing magic. "Oh I'm ok. I'm sorry about your friend." She nods at Fae to join her.
Fae would let out a soft chuckle when he’d add in the quip on his ‘simple trip’, keeping her smile. “We all have our role to play.” She’d add with a soft nod, giving his hand a gentle pat before returning hers to her side. “You, Daran, and many of the others have stepped up in a time of need. It’s already has inspired the next generation to start contributing and taking action.” The scholar would gesture towards the Inn where two teenagers were already stepping in to assist. “We will keep checking in.” She’d assure when Sildar would glance towards the townhall. She’d then look out towards the sky with a glimmer of a smile tugging at the corner of her eyes. “And keeping an eye from the sky...” The wizard would rock up onto the balls of her feet a little.
With Garaele
Fae would instinctively glance back to check on Garaele’s head where she was rubbing, her expression softening. “I’m sorry about the whole situation... I hope we can solve the truth.”
Zeke would check in on Ethan's progress on his tinkering, seeing if the artificer needed any assistance in finalizing the designs or finishing the heavier elements of the actual construction. Seeing the Master artificer and his new winged companion hard at work, the barbarian would slip back out as unobtrusively as possible and seek out the rest of the party.
'Sounds like their are Orcs or bandits on the road choking off inbound trade to the village. Should be an easy enough fix for us and would be a boon to the town. Anyone up for a little hike in the morning to see if we can't sort out whatever is blocking the traffic?'
When Zekeenters the room, Ethanis in the middle of some intricate magical process.
Not looking up or stopping what he is doing, Ethanremarks over his shoulder.
"Hey Zeke, I've finished recording the details, you can have the handle back."
"Quinnget the handle for Zeke."
"You know how to put the sword back into the handle and secure it in place, right?"
"If not, I can show you later."
Quinnfloat over and picks up the handle from where it rests and flies it over to Zeke, handing it to him.
"Έχω το βλέμμα μου πάνω σου. Μην σκέφτεσαι γιατί έχεις υπέροχα φτερά, θα σε αφήσω να ξεφύγεις."
"I have my eye on you. Don't think because you have magnificent wings, I will let you go unwatched."
Quinnsquints his eyes at Zekein suspicion, his eyes darting to Zeke's wings and back, before turning and flying back to continue helping Ethanwith his work.
Tarja agrees with Zeke that dealing with the orcs could help the town, and might not take them too far afield - so they could get back and check on Gundren.
I'm still worried about leaving Gundren alone for too long. I know we'll need to head out north to find Reidoth, but perhaps after Gunren's had more time to recover. For now let's stick close by - and dealing with the orcs would certainly help Phandalin prosper.
A couple of hours after dark, anyone paying attention in the common area of the Stonehill Inn might notice Elmar Barthen take a turn at going to check on Arvel once again, returning to the inn's celebrations ten minutes or so later with an affirmative nod to Sildar and Daran after having apparently donned an extra layer for warmth during the chilly evening. During that time Harbin Wester and Halia Thornton would also depart together, the pair keeping each other's company being a common site in Phandalin these days (although never in any romantic capacity, it would seem).
A few minutes later there are several shouts and the heavy set town master returns to the entrance to the inn's tavern area breathing heavily. "He's gone! Their friend! He's gone! He tricked Elmar and locked him in the ce..." It is then that the town master sees Elmar sitting happily with friends and a mug of ale. "But...but he..." The still wheezing townmaster looks completely baffled at the site of Mr. Barthen.
"But...but...Elmar...you were in the cell... you said...you said he tricked you... you, you said to come tell everyone..."
An equally confused Elmar looks to Sildar, Daran and any party members present and shakes his head 'no' to indicate that the townmaster's story doesn't make any more sense to him than the rest of you.
When confusion and story exchange presented itself, Fae's brows would furrow and her eyes would dart from one to another. The wizard would immediately excuse herself, heading towards the cell where they kept Arvel to inspect the area herself.
Zeke nods as the artificer hands him back the shaft of his blade, nodding when asked if he can reattach the blade. As the homunculus chatters at him, the tiefling tilts his head, spreads his wings a bit, and smiles - completely oblivious to what the small thing is saying.
Later that evening, from his normal seat near the back of the tavern the barbarian sees the town master come blowing back into the Inn shouting about Arvel's escape. As Fae stands to leave, the barbarian follows her, opening his stride to get the door open before the wizard can get there, checking the street for any danger before clearing the doorway and falling in behind the powerful wizard.
Fae would look up, nodding to Zeke when he'd open the door for her to proceed. "He left with Halia..." She'd whisper her suspicions under her breath while passing by the tiefling only for him to hear. With Zeke right behind her, Fae would stride with more urgency and fortitude. As she stepped, the wizard would send an arm out, gesturing firmly with a flew flicks of her wrist, a copper coin held between two fingers. "Tapy afz, tapy afz, smyryjyr haf vory..." She spoke a different language in a much deeper tone, with barely audible words, as they were raspy in contrast to her natural voice. Fae was triggering a different aspect of her spell. Using the silence of the night, she'd listen for hidden thoughts around them. Fae trusted Zeke's eyes to diligently scan the darkest areas for the visible as she'd focus on the invisible.
Casting: Detect Thoughts (You can also use this spell to detect the presence of thinking creatures you can't see. When you cast the spell or as your action during the duration, you can search for thoughts within 30 feet of you.)

We have to find him again! If he's still able to put on illusions despite his restraints, it'll be tough to keep him somewhere, but we have to at least find him now!
Tarja takes on her wolf form, hoping that the illusions won't fool her sense of smell as readily as they could fool her eyes. She sniffs around the people currently in the inn, especially Harbin and Elmar, before heading out to Arvel's cell with Fae and the rest of the party to look for clues.

The group is trailed by the townmaster and several of the locals as they burst out into the street and see Halia heading back towards the townmaster's hall from the direction of her Miner's Exchange. "What is it? I heard Harbin yelling! Is he alright?"
As you reach the townmaster's hall you find the front doors wide open and in the basement you find the cell door open and the elaborate bindings prepared by Ethan and the group left in a pile in the center of the cell floor. Fae does not find any unexpected minds lurking anywhere around, but Tarja picks up on several smells. With Harbin Wester, Sildar, Daran and Elmar all right behind the group she confirms most are those expected to be here to check on Arvel. There is a scent she is unfamiliar with however, and perhaps even more interestingly, she realizes that she does not smell Arvel at all.
Fae finds Harbin Wester's mind to be full of panic. Thoughts such as 'it was him!' referring to Elmar and 'it's not my fault!'flood the townmaster's mind.
Fae finds very different surface thoughts in Halia's mind including 'how interesting'and amusement at Harbin's current state. She is calm and reveals no particular shock or concern for the situation.
Tarja thinks she can isolate the various smells and track the foreign smell out the front door of the townmaster's hall.
Tarjasniffs around the cell, and realizes to her shock that she can't smell Arvel at all! When was Arvel switched out? He was still himself in Tresendar manor... right? She didn't remember, she hadn't had reason to carefully sniff him and check.
At least this impostor had a definable smell that was clearly not Arvel. She gets a good sniff of the smell and heads outside, trying to track which way the smell went. If she catches a whiff of it, she'd try to gesture to her companions to follow, with a quick bark and a nose to the ground. Maybe they could track him and take him down for good.
(Not sure what checks are necessary. Wolf gets perception/smell at advantage, but is this perception or survival? Here's two die rolls: 136, my perception is +7 and my survival is +4)
(edit, cool, the first one was bigger anyway, so that's either 25 perception or 22 survival)
