Fae would nod, agreeing with Zeke’s urgency. She’d make one last round around the scene before snapping her book shut. If nothing else is needed of her, she’d hop back into the cart and take her place in her nest, ready be to continue forward. Fae would keep out of her journal to pay attention and be ready at a moments notice.
Zeke moves back to his customary spot covering the caravan's back trail - but now with more attention paid to the skies above, as well as the road behind.
The advantage of always assuming the worst is that even in the face of certain death from the skies, his attitude never changes. Goblins, Spiders, Demons or Dragons are all the same, they come to crush and destroy and demolish, the only question is how you choose to die.
Having identified the beast, Tarja is ready to move on.
I agree, best get a move-on. Dragons are majestic and powerful and I definitely don't want to run into one out in the open.
If any of you know why the bodies were arranged, or what the purpose of this fortified caravan was, I'm all ears, but mother nature doesn't give me much to go on there.
Going forward, in her place to the front and side of the lead wagon, Tarja would be sure to keep an eye on the skies as well as the land.
(OOC: we all done CSI-ing the place up? Was there something about a body under the wagon we still needed to look at, or was it just a boot? Tarja wouldn't be the one to notice it if there was more.)
Yeah amazing CIS'ing with those rolls. It would be pretty hard for me not to just tell you everything with those, even if for some reason I didn't want to. I think you guys have covered just about everything. If you inspected the bodies themselves or the insides of the wagons even further you wouldn't find much. Any personal correspondence, etc. is missing. Maybe there'd be a few copper in some pockets but I don't picture the party robbing these particular bodies for such small benefit under the circumstances.
As inclined as I am to let you guys run the show, I feel like those rolls compel me to give you everything the characters could possibly figure out, so I'll clarify that the boot does seem to be on a foot attached to a leg and so on. Ethan brought it up in character and now ftl has asked OOC. That's probably the only thing not thoroughly investigated.
"So, umm, is it bad if I want to take some of the soldiers equipment?"
"It's just that there is so much good materials here, and they aren't going to need them, but I know people out this way have strange customs, like burying people with their things..."
Ethan looks at his feet for moment,
"Is it ok if I take some things before we go, or is that too much for anyone?"
"I really like you guys, and I don't want to make you dislike me, so..."
Ethanhelp Zeke, to collect all of the spears and shields, putting them into the compressed space storage in his gauntlet.
"I can hold onto these for us, and we can decide as a group how to make use of them later, yes?"
As Ethanhold the shields over the open gauntlet, and brings them down towards the entrance, the shields appear to be distorting, shrinking to fit within.
Once all have been safely deposited, Ethancloses the gauntlets double hatch, not appearing to feel any extra weight from the new cargo.
Ethanlooks down at the bodies,
"I really wish we had time to bury them. It feels wrong to just leave them out like this."
Ethanlooks back into the air, scanning the horizon, before climbing back into the second wagon.
"I'm sure Phandalin will have some kind of temple," Elra says. "I'll go there and speak to the priests when we arrive." She sends Vincent off with insturctions to keep an eye out for dragons or other such large flying creatures in the sky.
'The dead won't begrudge us our needs in this world, but I agree Elra, we should stop at a temple in Phandalin to pay our respects.' Zeke looks up and down the road, checks over the wreckage one more time, and then nods on last time. 'But we need to get moving, let's get going'
The wagons move on once again and, for the first time, the halflings are completely quiet. They look nervous and watch the skies more than the oxen and the road.
The afternoon is quiet and as the sun begins to fall from the sky Farnin tells you all that you are approaching the Triboar Trail, perhaps in about an hour, and that they recommend camping near the junction, perhaps off the road and under tree cover once again on account of, you know, dragons and stuff.
About thirty minutes later, riders with yellow banners are seen slowly cresting a distant hill. They appear to match or exceed the size of your own party at first glance.
Fae is confident the banners and even armor, shield and spear combinations of the first four riders is very familiar, matching that of the destroyed caravan from a few hours earlier. She is less sure of the riders behind the initial four as six in total can now be seen riding slowly in formation, two by two.

"We'll have to tell people about the bodies," Elra says. "I'd hate for them to be left there to rot."

"Time's a factor here, Etan. Otherwise I'd be right there with you stripping that fancy wagon and those saddles."
DCI: 3319125026
"Oh, I'm more interested in taking the shields and spears, quick easy access to both wood and metal."
"Then we can head off, shouldn't take more than a minute or so, I would think."
Ethan's eyes scan the group looking for reactions form anyone, at the idea of striping the dead of their equipment.

Zeke steps quickly to the nearest bodies and grabs the spears and shields and loads them in the wagon.
'They won't need them where they are, but we need to move unless we want to join them.'
"Can i take some of these for materials then?"
Ethan indicates the spears and shields Zeke has throw onto the wagons.

'Absolutely, that's why I grabbed them for you - we'll need your talents, and you need materials.'
Elra doesn't say anything while they're discussing Ethan's materials, instead she closes her eyes and says a prayer for the dead.
