Zeke easily charges through the crude barrier, sending shards of wood flying. He finds himself in another tunnel, darkness and the familiar sounds of water the prominent features to his right. On his left the space quickly opens up into a cavern lit by a few torches and a small cooking fire, the air hazy with smoke and the pungent smell of poorly cured hides and unwashed goblins. Two goblins sit against the wall on a bedroll right in front of him, looking shocked at the sudden intrusion. Three more goblins sit around the fire and frantically start reaching for their weapons. To their left is a ledge leading deeper into the cave with a crudely carved stone staircase leading up to it.
As the rest of the group follows right behind Zeke they notice much the same. Arvel's eagle eyes notice that there are more goblins atop the ledge and huddled over a bound and bloodied human that he believes to be Sildar.
If you have yet to roll perception since Zeke declared bashing through the barrier, you may still do so to notice Sildar and the two goblins around him if you like.
Initiative order below. All goblins are Surprised, and everyone rolled REALLY well for initiative. Luckily for the party these goblins are pretty lazy, inept and distracted by their new toy in Sildar, which trumps the noise the party just made climbing the rubble.
22 Tarja 22 Fae 20 Zeke 20 Arvel 15 Elra & Vincent 15 Ethan 15 Goblins
*I'll honor Zeke's previously rolled attack when I resolve the first few people's actions.
*On the map you can see the narrow rubble filled tunnel you just came through, the main tunnel with the steam, and the steps to the wolves on the bottom right. You don't know what 'Y' is yet.
Tarja casts “create bonfire” on the space of G2, and moves left two spaces to be adjacent to it. (G2 must make a dex save or take 1d8 damage. It will also have to do this at the end of each of its turns, as long as it isn’t able to move away, which it might not if it’s surprised or surrounded)
Fire erupts from the floor right between the legs of the nearest goblin as it screams in pain. The smell of burning goblin assaults the noses of the party.
G3 and G5 are on their knees reaching for weapons when Fae casts her spell. Each goblin merely flops down prone on their bellies while G4 looks on, terrified.
The goblin Tarja targeted with her bonfire goes up in flames and tries to stand up but fails and stops moving only seconds later, burnt to a crisp on the floor.
Zeke moves up and plants his blade deeply into the chest of the next goblin (G1). It stares up at him in shock, clinging to consciousness, and life.
Zeke would roar in frustration and enter his Battle Trance, scowling at the surviving goblin and turn the withdrawal of his blade into an upstroke, hoping to finish the creature off.
Rage
Attack: 27 Damage: 11
Once he dispatches the goblin, he moves towards the stairs - trying to get to Sildar before they can hurt him further.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ethanholds his shield in front of him holding his Fire Caster just to the side.
Aiming down his Fire Caster, at the goblinthat didn't go down to Fae's spell, Ethanreleases a flash of magic, lighting the device up and shooting off a bolt of fire, in the direction his target.
Action: Cast Fire Bolt at G4: Attack: 22 - Damage: 4 fire damage
Elra comes through the tunnel, Vincent on her shoulder, and calls down radiance at the last goblin by the fire (G4). The goblin looks up from its seated position and splits its legs just in time to dodge the holy blast. It's eyes are still wide with horror as it has yet to even take any action to defend itself further.
Meanwhile the goblin near Sildar (Y) calls out "wait, I can help you!"
On his second try Zeke obliterates the skull of the goblin seated on the floor before him and makes for the stares.
*Moving to second round with Tarja and Fae at the top, Zeke already having rolled so I gave him his kill since he was already up close and personal. Figured the others wouldn't mind in character.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fae would march into the room behind Tarja and Zeke. Inspired by the fierce warriors around her, fire burning in her soul, she'd stare down the one Goblin who remained awake from her sleep spell. Without taking her eyes off the Goblin (G4), she'd reach her left hand out towards one of his comrades (G6). "Burn!" Her eyes would glow a fierce violet.
Fae would like to move into the room behind Tarja and Zeke, at least enough so that she's able to attack G6. Don't know if this'll work, but essentially she's trying to take advantage of the situation to intimidate G4: 17 all while trying to cast Fire Bolt to fry his buddy (G6). Attacking with inspiration (adding advantage): 18 Damage: 6.
Arvel'seyes shine with golden light as he calls out "Tonttujen valo!"
The words bounce around the chamber and cause a vibration in the air as his honeyed voice harmonizes with its own echo. Golden motes of light appear from the vibrations and settle on the creatures of the upper chamber of the cavern, outlining them with golden auras.
Summarizing the current state of the world as I understand it:
G1 and G2 are dead. G3 and G5 are asleep. G4 is unharmed but has been targeted by Fae's intimidation, no visible effect yet. G6 has been hit for 1 HP by a fire bolt. G6 and Y have been targeted by a faerie fire (and probably Sildar too, lol) but save has not been posted yet. Y has called out that he wants to help.
Most of us are somewhere around the entrance, I'm probably furthest in front right next to G2's body, except Zeke who is on the stairs if I've counted movement right.
Tarjaraises her arms and casts Create Bonfire at the goblin in front of Sildar (In case of a failed Dex save, damage: 4). To the surviving goblins, she shouts
If you want to survive to help us, lay down your weapons and step away from Sildar! If not, you will be burned away like saplings in a forest fire!
Since the fire is so close to Sildar, Tarja will not maintain concentration on the bonfire and will let it go out after the goblin makes or fails his save. She will move forward to the middle of the lower part of the room to get a good view of both chambers.
Other potentially relevant rolls:
Intimidation, in case one of the goblins in borderline between being laying down weapons or not 8 (If I get advantage because we've set about a third of their number on fire and put a third to sleep within 1 round, here's a second roll: 4)
Perception to see if anyone or anything else is hidden n the back of the cavern: 23
Fae is surprisingly intimidating as she unleashes a gout of flame, the goblin next to the fire (G4) looking like he's going to pass out. She only singes the goblin in front of Sildar (G6) but a burn to his cheek leaves him look about as excited as the others.
Arvel's golden motes descend upon the goblin behind Sildar (Y) after passing by the nimble goblin atop the ledge (G6), the same goblin dancing around Tarja's latest burst of flame. The druid does not see any other threats deeper into the cave, just barrels and crates of supplies.
*Ok we'll let Elra and Ethan post before the goblins react to anything beyond their saving throws. No worries Bacon! We all get busy and it was only about 24 hours, just wanted to keep it moving for everyone. NBD
Love Faerie Fire. Any color will do!
Poor Fae, love the post, but then there's the damage roll. Hey, taking your enemies apart bit by bit might be that much more intimidating!

Fae focuses on the three goblins scrambling for their weapons by the fire. She'd reach forward, palm out then flicks it down. "Sleep."
Fae would cast Sleep on G3,G4 and G5 Goblins. 1 | 2 | 3 | 7 | 7
just an unstable unicorn.

Ethan shakes his Fire Caster, causing motes of lingering excess magical energy, to fly off in every direction.
"Dam it, shoot where I point you."
Ethan takes aim again, at the goblin on the far side of the fire and releases his magic into his Fire Caster once more.
Another pulse of magical light shoots down the device, becoming a bolt of fire as it leaves the end and shoots off in the direction of Ethan's target.
