((Wow! Yeah, that could have gone better for you guys, lol. Due to new kid, home selling, home buying, and getting in a small car wreck, I am hereby delegating the Slithotep battle to the players! Foofaspoon already PM’d me with the idea. Slithotep now has the poisoned condition, and I am also ruling his AC has decreased by 2. He will attempt to move over to pull a level located at the southwest corner of the room to raise a secret door and call for help. He’d have to make a DC13 Strength check (with disadvantage now) in order to budge the rarely used lever. Pulling the lever in the opposite direction would cause the wall to slide back shut. Easier by 1 DC each time the lever is pulled. I shall watch with delight!))
OOC I said to JustBrad987 I didn't mind running slithotep - Darion is tapped out and just spamming bonfire! Hope that is okay!
As Slithotep
Slithotep snarls at the group "Disgusting smooth skins! I will enjoy bathing in your blood!"
Slithotep darts for the lever controlling the secret door, taking attacks of opportunity from Daner I believe. He tries to pull the hidden lever.
Strength: 7
As Darion
Darion watches Slithotep race over and start to pull on something. A feeling of relief washes over him; there is a way out that wouldn't involve the teleporter!
As Slithotep has moved, he recasts Bonfire, doing: 5 and maintains concentration as long as Slithotep is in that space.
In terms of initiative, I think we have just been doing it us then them; Slithotep has had his go, so rest of the party goes now! Daner gets his attack of opportunity if you want to take it?
Ellis hears Slithotep, still shaking and unable to move even with seeing him try to pull down on something. Come on, he has to move, to do something to help!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Slithotep rushes to the lever, Daner swings at him with his Greataxe. Attack of Opportunity: 23 Damage: 15
Then, seeing the Yuan-ti struggling with the lever, he rushes after him. If Slithotep is trying to escape, he is obviously worried. Maybe we have him on the ropes? Daner again swings with his Greataxe, looking to break through the tough scales and actually wound the creature. Attack: 21 Damage: 6
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ellis clearly breaks free of the fear, and is now free to act on his next turn! Huzzah! Good to see the rolls are just as bad as before!
As Slithotep
As he has multi-attack, I'll run the lever pulling like a grapple check, so it uses one of his attacks.
Slithotep hisses in frustration, and tries to pull the lever - this will be an opposed check as Tempest and Daner are both trying to stop him - he rolls with disadvantage, and if Tempest and Daner make strength checks he will have to beat both to succeed at pulling the lever!
Slithotep Strength check: 9
Whatever the result of this, Slithotep then lashes his tail out, trying to grab Daner: Attack 18, damage: 11
He then spins around and tries to bite Tempest, who sees fangs dripping with venom lunge towards him: Attack 22, Damage: 7 piercing, 8 poison
As he doesn't move, he has to roll dex 7 or take 7 fire damage from the bonfire
As Darion
Darion sees Ellis shake of the fear "Welcome back!" he calls over, before seeking to burn Slithotep again, curling flames around his serpentine form.
Slithotep (again) dex save 7 or 2 fire damage
As assorted prisoners
The prisoners continue to pelt Slithotep with anything to hand: 15, 5 damage
Ellis finally managed to shake off that intense fear as he heard Darion, relieved. But now it means he has to help and make up for being so useless all this time. He can't use any spells right now and even though he knew it would be dangerous to physically attack, Daner has been the major attacker and almost died cause of it. So Ellis would run up towards Slithotep and then slash at him from behind with his rapier.
Daner’s spirits are boosted as he sees Ellis join the fight. Having someone else by his side was a huge benefit and he pressed forward with renewed vigour.
Tempest, you can make the opposed strength check as a reaction, so still have your action for this round - same for Daner if he wants. Bonus action fine!
Despite your ongoing bad luck, Slithotep is clearly begining to weaken, covered in cuts, burns and bruises and still suffering from the poison effect. There is an element of desperation in his attempts to open the door.
I'll wait to see Tempest's action, and if Daner wants to use his reaction to oppose the lever pull before moving the round on to Slithotep - but Tempest can feel the lever come unstuck and begin to move!
Excellent plan - I'll up the DC to move it to 15 - which means the lever gets frozen in place, and Slithotep glares at you with venom - literally and figuratively. I'll do Slithotep's turn this evening when not on my mobile!
Slithotep wrestles with the lever, but between Daner's grip and Tempest's ice it remains securely stuck. There is hatred in Slithotep's eyes, but also fear. He yanks down again, then will try to attack Daner with his tail and Ellis with his fangs.
Strength check: 7 (Anyone standing near him can use a reaction to try and counter the pull)
Constrict: 16, damage 11 @ Daner
Bite: 12, damage 6 piercing and 12 poison @ Ellis
He rolls a save vs the fire: 16 or take 7 fire damage
As Darion
"Fantastic work" he yells "Lets finish him!" - terror is giving him a strange bravado.
He will continue to try and burn Slithotep
Slithotep save: 8 or take 1 fire damage
As Other Prisoners
The mob continues to hurl things at him!
Attack 14, damage 5 (They have now mostly shaken of the fear effect, so will say that it has ended)
Ellis had gotten the hit on Slithotep, glad but then was shocked as the other went in to bite him. He couldn't dodge it, feeling the fangs dig down into him. It hurt a bit, thinking that he could still keep going on though. But as he heard Darion, he held his chest in pain as the poison was now coursing through him and soon enough he just collapsed onto the ground.
(OCC: And now Ellis is down.)

Slithotep's saving throw: 4
Do you like my Boots of Flying?
So Slithotep fails to budge the lever, whose saving throw now gets easier - DC 12 Strength. He also takes a further 5 fire damage.
Do you like my Boots of Flying?
((Is it possible to get the initiative order up again so we can see where we are at?))
(OCC: Wouldn't Slithotep need to make a CON save to keep Fear up as well?)
Good point:
Slithotep con save: 19
If less than 10, he looses concentration
In terms of initiative, I think we have just been doing it us then them; Slithotep has had his go, so rest of the party goes now! Daner gets his attack of opportunity if you want to take it?

WIS Save: 17
(OCC: Please tell me that succeeds because if so, about damn time! Finally Ellis won't be completely useless anymore!)

((At least the rolls are consistently bad :s ))
Tempest will toss another Produce Flame at Slithotep and make his way over towards the lever to block Slithotep from grabbing it.
Attack: 6 Damage: 3
