((Boy oh boy oh boy, is ringing a bell an action or a free action to interact with an object? I’m obviously biased in this situation as the maniacal DM, lol. What do the people want? What does the drama demand!? Cast your votes!))
((Guys! I am stewing on this still; it is hard to read the table when it is play by post though! We moved into a new house and tonight is our first night. We also almost died in a car wreck but escaped with our lives and unscathed (sans some PTSD). Down one car. Impossibly busy couple of days, but still on my mind!))
Hmm, I might have a 12 Charisma at least, but I’m really resistant to peer pressure as a rule, so I might have proficiency in it...
(lol while it would be more dramatic if it was just a free action, Ellis has already been a burden as it is and he/I would feel real bad for causing the group's downfall after getting so far and so close to the end so I would rather it be a regular action.)
((I think I’d be a halfling because that wreck yesterday was obviously a critical fail, but flying through six lanes of traffic without clipping any other vehicles and slamming (relatively) gently into the shoulder counts as the Lucky feature in my mind.))
upon thinking about this, and being in the Christmas spirit, I think that Ellis fighting through all of the ooey gooey spider webs and being constrained in the tight boat and possibly being obstructed by Daner means we could reasonably expect that ringing the bell can be an action. However, if Ellis makes it to his next turn you better believe that he’s gonna ring the HELL out of that bell!
Liss’ard is confounded when a giant spider covers Ellis in webs. He looks up to see spider Tempest and he is enraged.
(Can someone roll a +2 Dex save and a CON save vs crossbow and CON save vs bonfire if it hits?)
((Glad you are okay DM, sounds horrific - glad you are all alright though. Definitely Lucky! Hopefully things will be less fraught for you and your family from now on.))
Darion softly curses under his breath as Liss'ard skips out of the way of his bonfire. He will keep it up though, so it will continue burning in Liss'ards spot.
Also! After each full round of combat, the canoes continue to move their 15ft speed downstream as the other prisoners continue to paddle the boats. So now you are 15ft away from the arch that Liss’ard stands upon.
Cackling, Liss’ard leaps like a ballet dancer away from the bonfire, which up to now has only added special effects to his maniacal show, but as he lands a crossbow bolt finds its mark in Liss’ard’s thigh. Liss’ard squeals and tumbles roughly on the ground and gets back up, shaking is head, looking eagerly at Ellis. “What’sssss the matter you idiot?? Ring the bell!!!” He blinks and realizes that his enchantment has been broken.
Being his turn, he makes the attempt again, and casts Suggestion on Ellis, making the same command as before. “Nice boy, nice boy....”
((Time to do some thinking about this! It should not come as a spoiler to know that you guys are -just- about out of clutches in this dungeon, though things can still go south of course. I have very much enjoyed this worldwide Anglophone group on which the sun never sets, and I’d be keen to keep the party going! However, I’d love to share the DM screen and get the opportunity to jump in as a player for some reprieve. So, my initial question of who might like to co-DM comes into play here- would anyone like to take a stab at running a play by post session? I’d rather keep the party together than disband if nobody wants to, of course, but I hope that you will consider it! We could keep on with these characters, or roll entirely new ones; whatever you guys want to do. As you can see, just one dungeon took 4 months to complete, so by no means do you need to take on an ambitious campaign or anything.))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

(Hope you're healing up quickly from the crash, mentally and physically. That's alot of stress to be put through. I'd like to say thank you for a great experience and game. Regardless of the outcome it's been a fun ride. I am definitely down with continuing and if no one else wants to DM I am willing to DM a bit. Not sure about the others but I will be mostly MIA over the Christmas break but will return with full force afterwards.)
(OCC: Oh now I get a high roll when I wanted low...)
Ellis somehow breaks free of the webbing and goes over to the bell, ready to ring it for Liss'ard.
(I assume ringing the bell takes an action, which Ellis has now used up thanks to the web.)

(DM Persuasion check: It's not an action 7)
(Not looking good.)
((DM persuasion check, lol))
((Fantastic, love it - you need to obviously make an opposed check DM! What's your Charisma like!!!!)))
Do you like my Boots of Flying?

((JustBrad987 - so glad you are ok. Take the time you need to get sorted out.
Side note could have used webbing on the bell instead of Ellis so it couldn’t ring.
I am happy for it to be a free action. Makes sense for as simple an act as ringing a bell. I realise this could bring down major hurt.))
Daner tried to counter for the movement of the boat this time and again fires his crossbows at Liss’ard.

3 DEX
8 CON vs crossbow to maintain concentration.
17 CON concentration vs bonfire if hit.

Ellis is able to think of nothing else but ringing that juicy, juicy shiny bell.
Tempest recalls that Yuan-ti are not able to cast Suggestion at will. Liss’ard might have only one more charge left now.
