Zelra, upon finishing off the goblin and hearing the man shout, will turn her attention to the prisoners and make her way towards them, ready to unlock any locks there may be with her Thieves' Tools. If there isn't any, she will throw her daggers at the Bugbear instead.
The bugbear only makes it back to a knee before Sylyra drops him with a crack felt by all in the room. It lies still, its skull cracked by the druid's powerful staff.
Ola finds the cage door locked, but Zelra makes quick work of it, and the door swings open.
"Thank you," the man in black says, "I am Chaab. Let's get these folks out of here, yeah? There are dozens, if not hundreds of goblins in this cave system. If we don't escape soon, we're going to be overwhelmed."
The rest of the prisoners look terrified, but a few nod gratefully, allowing the man to speak to you.
OOC: Each character has received 50 XP for defeating the bugbear and goblins, bringing us to our maximum of 100 XP for this mission.
Uragum recovers after tossing the creature to the floor. He prepares himself for another strike when a staff whips out and takes the kill. A little disappointed he gives a nod of approval to the kill. Turning he gaze to the prisoners he hears Chaad shout out the warning.
"Alright let head out then. Maybe we can collapse the entrance on the way out. Slow em down, if lucky, starve them if really lucky." He calls out.
The man was right, of course, first things first: nobody was dying right here and now, so healing could wait until they get to some safety. Ola let everyone pass to trough the door, covering the retreat as best as she could.
Otger moves to Chaad with his right arm extended. "I am Otger and these are my friends, as you said we haven't much time so gather everyone up and lets make haste. Uragum, if you can figure out a way to collapse the tunnel then that doesn't sound like a bad idea, just need to do it quickly as we leave." Otger looks at the group and at the remaining prisoners. "Perhaps check the bugbear for keys? Would be quicker then picking each lock one at a time. Chaad, did you see where the keys were kept while you were in the cage?" He will then look around the room for any obvious signs of keys hanging on hooks or laying on top of a stool or desk.
"Are we sure there are no other prisoners elsewhere?" Sylyra asks, looking from comrade to comrade. The transparent green flames dancing along his staff die away. The elf steps over to Chaad. "Were you taken from Madame Freona's farm?"
OOC: The only lock was on the cage door, all of the prisoners are freed. Sorry for any confusion.
"It's Chaab," says Chaab. "And no, I was investigating the lair and took too long. I was trying to escape to report my findings when dozens of the goblins returned from their raiding." His eyes dart nervously toward the tunnels. Occasional goblin shouts or laughter can be heard echoing through.
One of the prisoners, a bearded human man, steps forward. "Madame Freona's farm? I don't know if you found the right captives, but we are grateful nonetheless. The name's Haldred Moss. We were all working on my farm when the goblins came. This is all of us except my wife Millivent and our son Bo. They were both in the house when they attacked, and I...I don't know if they made it out, but I haven't seen them."
Meanwhile, Zelra does indeed find a set of keys among the armor of the dead bugbear. Chaab calls out, "Take his shield as well. The thing looks like strange, but it's actually a scale from a black dragon. If you can't use it, it's probably got some value."
"Why?" Ola looked at Arnald with honest surprise "These are the prisoners we came for and they say there are no others". She turned to the bearded human man: "Your wife is safe. She made it to the city to madam's Friona tavern, and we came straight here with the only stop to let Mrs. Moss to return to the house. She is there now with your son waiting for you."
"If we are about to save those people we need to get them out fast" Goblin's laughter truly did not add any comfort to the situation as beaten up unarmed people did not make it easier to escape.
Otger takes the shield looking it over, "Good eye Chaab, thank you. And sorry for the misunderstood name, I won't forget it." As the attention is brought to the sound of goblins he says to the group, "We may be too late, anyone able to tell if those goblin sounds are from the returned raiding group? If so, we may be better off waiting for them to pass before leaving." Otger then places his own shield on his back and straps the bugbear's shield to his shield arm.

Zelra picks up the bugbear's shield and looks at it with awe. "Black dragon scale you say? Well... lets hope this'll get us a hefty price. Anyways~, Otger's right. I'll check out front to see if there are any more goblins coming through." Seemingly in a much better mood, she let's Otger take the shield and makes her way back to the way they came from peeking in to see if the room is clear before signalling the others to follow. She will continue to do this until they are outside of the cave.

OOC: LOL Sorry for the confusion with the name. I scrolled back to get her name and copied the wrong one.
Satisfied that they have found who they were searched for (and more), Sylyra crosses to the door and looks out into the cavern in the shape of a sideways H to make sure no new creatures have entered.

Sylyra sees and is reminded of the worg still caged. Looking over his shoulder at the others still conversing, the elf crosses to the cage, whispering a short phrase in druidic and touching his temple and lower lip in a complicated hand gesture (action: speak with animals). Stepping up to the cage, he says, "I'm sorry you were injured. It was my intent to keep you and your canine companion out of the fight. No creature should be kept in a cage or forced to live and work without dignity. At least the wolf was released and allowed to die in battle."
Sylyra converses with the worg as long as he has before the others start filing out of the room. If he can create a rapport with the worg (using animal handling, persuasion, charisma, or some other check), and feels the worg is trustworthy enough to not attack him, he'll tell the worg that after escorting the kidnapped out of the cave, he will return to free it from its cage (using whatever keys or action the goblin used to free the wolf).
If the coast is not clear:
Sylyra turns to the room and whispers, "We have company."
OOC: Added Black Dragon Scale Shield to Otger's inventory.
The way back to the entrance of the cave is clear. The sounds of goblins deeper in the tunnel systems fade as Zelra and Ruik lead the party and the prisoners out and back into the nearby forest.
Along the way, Sylyra stop to speak with the worg, to no avail. The monstrosity doesn't seem to understand him, even with the aid of a spell, and it is anything but friendly, continuing to snarl, and attempting to bite through its cage, angered by the druid's presence.
The path back to the Moss farm is easy to find, trampled by both the goblins and your first trek toward the cave. Once you are a suitable distance away, Chaab stops, pulling you aside to a clearing.
"Let's let everyone rest for a moment. It's been a long day for them. You're clearly adventurers, yes? There are things we should speak of," he says.
"I came here on behalf of the Zhentarim. We are investigating some strange happenings in the area. Until recently, a black dragon laired here. For some reason, it was parleying with humans.
"The dragon hadn't been seen in a while, but the humans that were treating with it were still skulking around the area, so I came to investigate. I ventured deeper into the cave, and found the dragon - dead at the hands of adventurers, who died themselves at the dragon's hands. It was a nasty scene. Someone has emptied the dragon's hoard and started harvesting parts of the dead dragon. As I mentioned, I was waylaid by a returning raiding party on my way out to report my findings. Since I was taken captive, the goblins have been in talks with the humans to secure the area. I don't know anything more about their relationship, however.
"In any matter...I am in your debt. I hope this information can repay my rescue, along with this."
Chaab hands over a pouch filled with gems, and a potion.
"You should be able to get at least 100 gold pieces from these. And the potion will allow you to climb on vertical surfaces. I was saving it for a special occasion, but you've earned it," he explains.
Uragum stayed at the back of the line helping the civilians escape and covering their escape. When out of the cave Uragum will stop and let the others continue on a bit. Standing five feet from the entrance he will take several deep breaths and then jump up and stop his feet on the ground sending out a deep rumble. He then turns to catch up with the others.
Casting earth tremor in attempts to collapse the entrance. At the very least it will make it difficult terrain.
Ola watched the impressive display of Uragum's magic, while Chaab (Zentarim is sure ubiquitous!) explained the situation. "An adventuring party taking down an evil dragon! Sounds like a bar's ballad." She shook her head admiringly. "I believe we saw one of those humans you described. He was instructing goblins about collecting dragon artifacts, whatever he meant by that. Although, it's not clear why do they raid local farms and take prisoners. What did they plan to do with you and others?"
Zelra sighs. "Your info is helpful but the Bugbear may have been able to answer our questions a bit better."At the sight of the bag of gems, however, she immediately perks up and takes the bag. "100 gold? Nice, Nice, Nice. That's uhhhhhhhhhhh 14 gold each with 2 gold left. You guys don't mind if I take the last two gold, yes? Lovely! Excellent! You guys are great."She speaks quickly with excitement, disregarding anyone's answer to her question, and puts the bag away with the intent of selling the gems later.
Having pondered the story Uragum finally piped in. "Those dragon parts can fetch a hefty price themselves, more the larger and older it was. Dealing with goblins though, that's nasty business, the human or who he works for either has enticed them with something good or scares the bloody piss out of them." he says and then spits at the last bit. "This don't taste right and I think we should warn that town."
Sylyra is disappointed that he has no luck with the worg, but knows that, like humans, there are reasonable and unreasonable animals. With a final, "Very well," the elf leaves the worg caged and helps escort the prisoners out of the cave. As Chaab explains his presence, Sylyra watches the man in black, looking interested at the mention of "Zhentarim" then surprised and angry concerning the tale of the dragon. He is just as interested in the pouch Chaab rewards the group with, and when Zelra grabs it, he narrows his eyes at her, but says nothing. He contributes nothing to the conversation.
