Seeing the lantern actually in action, Tefkae began to narrow down her list of possibilities. "Have you also been able to alter the intensity of the light? To use it as a more direct weapon against the creatures of mist." The request, though sounded lost in thought.
"Nah, that's not really my thing." The Hunter says. "Unfortunately my role doesn't come with 'gifts of the light'. However, i get much more freedom of where an when I head out, less under The Mayor's eyes..." She pulls the pot off of the small fire. "Looks ready, pass me some of the drinking pots." She gestures to a small pile of dark grey clay mugs that lack handles.
Victoria finds that Sailor seems to be burying his nose into her clothing, whimpering slightly.
The Hunter chuckles. "Well it's just a lantern at the end of the day, right? It can't really walk off on its own, unless the things the parents tell us about how it makes its way back to The Town when The Hunter gets lost to the mists."

OOC: Would Ankor notice how Sailor is acting? if so before taking the cup from the hunter can I make a survival check to see what was used in the pot and also the aroma of the cooking pot to see if there is anything funny about it?

From, what you can tell, Sailor's nose is running and eyes watering, a little like hay-fever or mild allergies. It doesn't appear to be from the drink The Hunter is preparing, but perhaps the various herbs set up around the room. He's not familiar with what they are, but it might be the cause for Sailor's reaction.
"Interesting. And also, unfortunate. It would be interesting to see the transferal process. However, as it does not pertain to our present goal in a positive light-..."Tefkae stops there, perhaps realizing the strange tangent they were on, and its effects on others. "... I believe we have several working theories in regards to your Lanterns. The fact that you can call it to yourself, and the method by which the 'role' of 'The Hunter' is passed along, almost seems to suggest a limited sentience."
Tefkae then pulls back their hood, and flips up the barred visor, revealing more clearly the face plate beneath, along with the several minute crystal or gems that served as their the construct's eyes and wood fibers making up their neck in tight cords resembling muscles. "This unit is, for instance, a variation of such a designs, and proof of possibility. Though, there have been rumors and stories of various artifacts throughout history that predate the construction of 'Warforged', or 'The Forged', as the more unbound of my kind prefer."They then flip the visor and hood back in place. "This aside, have you ever felt in danger of losing your Lantern during an expedition, considering the fact that you call it to you? In addition, has the mist itself or creatures seem particular keen on removing or damaging your lantern in the past?"

Victoria heads outside with Sailor, the pup sneezing as they leave. She notes that when she looks about, the street is quiet, save for a pair of cats on the roof of the building across the road, idly watching her and the dog.
"Not really sure about all these fancy words you're using, but you sound like you know some stuff." The Hunter tells Tefkae. "As for this thing," She taps the lantern, its light still a dull grey. "I don't think it'd get broken if we tried. I know I've dropped it a few times as I was learning the ins and outs of my role, accidentally had heavy things fall on it, and nothing leaves a dent."
Tefkae nods slowly. "Then let us hope that it continues to remain steadfast in not being destroyed. But with that, unless you have any more inquiries about our past, shall we move on into finding our vessel once more. The sooner the better, if we are to leave before whatever magic subsumes this place begins to more actively affect us."

"Indubitably!" Captain Obaysch says. "The sooner we are up in the stars, the better." He chuckles to himself.
"Well you can at least have the drink first." The Hunter tells the group, passing the drinks out. "Here you go. Tastes a little funny, but definitely keeps you going. You get used to it." The drink itself seems to be some sort of nettle tea, but with a slightly horrid aftertaste.
Headed out from The Hunter's house, she brings some of her hunting equipment with her, a bow and quiver of arrows, some knives, a couple of hunting kits, and a few other bits and bobs. Veronica notes that as the group leaves the house, the cats turn and leave, going to the other side of the roof they are one. Sailor yaps and wags his tail as he sees the party arrive.
"Hey guys them cats were here again on top that roof" Victoria points to where they were. "Now i love all animals but they seem a bit suspicious to me. Also seems like Sailor is feeling better."
Tefkae still declines, but nodded her head in thanks for any offers prior to the group taking their leave. "It seems that you were right to possess such a level of wariness, Hunter."Tefkae states after Victoria's comment. "But they have left now. Most curious. It is almost as if the Mayor does not trust you with certain information. But be that as it may. Let us focus instead on our return. Once there, perhaps we yet discuss more about the current situation without the risk of 'prying eyes'."

"Well you see what I mean?" The Hunter says. "Got to mean the mayor has some plans. You'd best be careful." The Hunter taps the shoulder of Cpt. Obaysch. "Alright, big man, lead the way."
"Very well." The giff picks the lumber back up. "Tally ho!" He guides the group back through the town. It is strangely quieter than when the party first arrived; the kids aren't playing out, and people don't appear to be in the street, though the occasional silhouette of someone watching from a darkened window is seen. The group finds themselves at the entrance, the thick mists clouding the path ahead, with the slightest forms of tall trees barely visible ahead.
The Hunter kneels down, taking a pinch of dirt. "Gyaxys, keep us safe on our journey out." She says, almost like a prayer, before chucking the dirt over her shoulder. She then stands back up. "Right, keep close, the lantern should penetrate the mists for us, so don't wander too far away from its light."

Ankor hands over the mugs. "But the ability itself, was it taught to you or something more of intuition?"
