Daerthe makes a face at the fungui as she is not the biggest fan of mushrooms after having them be most of her diet accept for the times she was able to get at best almost rotten rothe meat in the slums. "Gather what is edible and then we should perhaps find a place to set up somewhere to rest."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing everyone else begin to eat, Mars will pluck one of the fleshier-looking mushrooms and one of the tongue fungiThun had eaten earlier without ill effect. She uses prestidigitation to clean and warm them both with a slight gesture and whispered gnashing of teeth. How much worse could it taste than what she's been eating as a prisoner of the Drow?
Tanser eats a bit of the sizzled fungi and makes a "Not too bad" face. He eats the rest of the little bit and proceeds to gather more as suggested. He had started to switch to gathering some of the mushrooms when Mars experiences her adverse effect. "I agree," the old gnome responds to Daerthe in Undercommon, dropping the one he had plucked. It takes a little more of the first fungus and steps away to see what the rest decide about their course of action.
Once they gather the fungus, Daerthe wait for the others to decide what to do next since she had thrown in her suggestion of finding a safe place or as a safe a place they could find to rest.
"I agree that, um, we should make camp soon, even though we are all going to die in these caves and I'm never going to see the sky again and I don't know who I trust to keep watch but maybe we should rest in shifts. I feel sick."
Mars walks to the nearest wall and pushes her face and hands against it, so only her back is visible. The tactile stimulation of the cold stone, slick with lichen and underground damp, is comforting, she says out loud. She runs her hands against the stone wall and fractaline shapes and colors (only visible as grayscale in the Underdark) imprint onto the wall in the shape of Mars' silhouette, through a mold earth cantrip.
"It's here, it's watching, it's here, it's laughing at us or maybe only me, it's watching here, I'm too close and low, it's here..." Mars then continues in a loop between dry heaves as she sinks to the floor at the foot of her psychedelic shadow.
Please consider this +1 to find a safe resting place and sleeping in shifts.
Tanser has previously been able to determine no other creatures live in this cavern. It appears fairly defensible. There are three entrances (including the one you came from). The area is dimly lit due to the faerzeness and glowing crystals, something that could potentially keep dark-loving creatures away from the area.
(For situations like this, I can't give a decisive yes or no answer, I'll give you the available information your characters would have, and you can make a determination from there).

OOC: Your response is perfect.
Tanser looks at Mars and now Tuma sitting to one side. "We can rest here," he says gruffly in Common. "I can take first shift." He picks a spot toward the center of the cavern where any movement from any of the three tunnels will catch his attention. He pulls out the stolen spellbook and continues going through it.

With Tuma's help and a waning high, Mars is able to collect herself and regain control over her speaking. She thanks her new triton friend profusely, promising to keep her source of light active for as long as they are belowground. Mars isn't a huge fan of the dark either.
Still on edge, Mars curls up on the hard floor by the wall and uses the silk rope as a headrest. She will fall into a light sleep under the glow of the faerzress.
If/when Mars is woken up to take a watch shift, this is the roll:
Perception for watch: 19
(DM please let me know if I should re-roll after Mars is woken up instead)
DM whisper:
Can Mars still hear/see the canine? Did it follow them at all through the caverns, or did it just make the single appearance early on from behind the monster corpse before leaving Mars and the party alone?
You have not seen the canine since its original appearance in the cavern, though its haunting laughter has been softly audible at random moments along the journey.
The dream
As Mars falls asleep, she can hear it's cackles a bit more strongly. She "awakes" in a dark, dismal cavern, completely alone. Tall stone walls surround her, forming some natural maze. Terrible yips and howls echo across the chamber. A giant canine form lumbers into view, a pack of hyenas yipping and cackling behind it. The creature drags a flail with three chains behind it, blood soaking the ground. It stops, sniffing the air, then turns to lock eyes with Mars. It grins, dozens of sharp, gore-covered teeth visible from its maw as a monstrous chuckle thrums from its being.

Constitution Roll: 18
((Also, if its for Poison, I have a Racial Resistance from Hill Dwarf, as well as proficiency with a Poison's Kit from background.))
Thun - you have no issue consuming the mushroom, a bitter sweet flavor.
Seeing how Thun didn't throw it up, Tuma will take a bite of the mushroom.
Constitution: 6
Tuma suffers no ill effects from the exotic fungi.

She takes a bite of each.

Mars begins speaking aloud all of her thoughts uncontrollably, and will continue to do so for the next hour.
"None of you eat what she did." Daerthe says as she sees what the mushroom causes to happen.
Thun scoops up some of the good fungi, as well as some of the bad, and separates them into diffdrent pockets.
"Never know when forced talking might come in handy."

The group managed to gather 1 days worth of food for everyone from the mushrooms, and 1 Tongue of Madness mushrooms.
Once they gather the fungus, Daerthe wait for the others to decide what to do next since she had thrown in her suggestion of finding a safe place or as a safe a place they could find to rest.

Tanser looks around the room with the idea of trying to determine if resting in this chamber is a good idea.
Perception: 19
"Uh..." Tuma will walk over and sits next to Mars. "If you want, I'll keep you company."
