Marcon breathes a sigh of relief. "One worry down. And--" He looks about searching another target. But seeing none from his current position, or at least none he'd have a good angle on, the human grumbled and finally put the crossbow away to start descending into the crevice, dropping down once at least 5ft away from the ground. From there he'd at least start towards the other wall. But if he sees or hears the other bugbear in the north, something primal starts to get the better of him, as he'd start growling and rushing for the sole remaining bugbear in the chamber(and that's NOT Ronk).
Movement/Action: To hurriedly descend onto ground level within the crevice, before moving as close as possible to engage the last bugbear.
Flynt ascends the climbing pole and joins Ronk atop the cliff. He triggers the Rod Of Loardly Migt to convert from the climbing pole back into the Flame Tounge sword he'd used previously thus flooding the area with light.
"Let's regroup and then track them." Rigel moves back to the cliff edge and see what assistance he can give the rest so they can join him and Ronk.

"Mother of nature please take this poor twisted soul back to the tree of the beginning and heal it" Says Garet sadly as he sees slender collapsing. He adjusts his mace, shield and backpack and gently hides in one of the pockets amulet of the goddess of nature.
Seeing Marcon fall from the cliff while saying "..And--" Garet takes a deep breath and slowly starts moving down in his rattling armor.
"Come on Ronk, looks like they're not getting up here soon." says Rigel. He goes to the cliff edge and once again create a climbing pole from the rod. He drops over the side and down to the bottom. He waits a moment to see if Ronk is going to fo!low.
Ronk stays put for a moment, watching where the bugbears retreated, then shrugs and follows Rigel, hopping off the edge of the cliff and sliding down the wall to the floor with the others. "That could have gone worse, I guess..."
Ronk uses his reaction to reduce any falling damage by 25.
Without any immediate threat or sounds returning hostiles reaching his ears, Marcon just stayed down on the ground for far longer than he had any need to be, contemplating... something or other. Eventually frustration at the constantly changing light situation seemed to get to the young man. For with a tired groan, he got to his feet, dusted himself off, quickly checked for any obvious damage to his crossbow, and then blindly groped around in his backpack until torch and tinderkit is well in hand.
"Everyone else aight?" He called out just moments before lighting his torch. Seeing Ronk and eventually Rigel once again in the crevice, he gives the two an incredulous look. "Wha-... Weren't ya'll, uh, up there? Why'ja come down here 'fore?"

"The others ran off. We need to decide which one we follow. I say leave that one and we go for the three." Says Rigel as he first points a finger at the north east passage and then a thumb back over his shoulder to the west
"... Ah... I mean, well, ya coulda still yelled that from up there while keeping an eye out, but whatever. Far as I'm concerned, we go after the three."Marcon expressed as moved over to start climbing, be it the rock wall itself or the ladder, if Rigel had thought to leave it up. "Tempting as it might be go chasing a straggler, we'd only be given the rest of those sucka chums time to prepare or run just as well. And-..." He pauses briefly to focus on flinging his torch up to the top of the crevice and thensome. "... actually, nevermind. Let's just get after'em three."

Rigel holds his hands up in silent surrender and turns to deploy the climbing pole against the.cliff face. He scurries up then turns back to assist any one else.
"Garret makes a good point. But since they are most likely to return to Gundren let us see if I can track them." Says Rigel. The ranger makes his way to the tunnel entrance and looks to pick up a trail.
The ranger easily finds sign of the escaping bugbears, leading up a column of stairs and around a short, S-curved hallway to another column of stairs leading west
As much as Marcon looked as if he might gripe over Garet's suggestion, with Rigel stepping in with a far more concise point, the ex-farmhand breathed a small sigh of relief and made to follow after the Ranger. That is, after donning his shield and snatching up the torch once more. Once they reached the stairs, Marcon stepped up to Rigel and asked, "Think I should take point from here? Ain't no way they ain't expect'n us on some level. And after that last scrap, well... they did rough the rest of you up pretty good."

Marcon blinked owlishly at Rigel, but curtly afterwards shook his head. "With how much a hurry they were to skeedaddle, I doubt they had any traps ready. If anything, we aughta be worried 'bout an ambush. But, I'll keep an eye out!" Marcon assured, before then pressing on up both flights of stairs at a fairly slow pace, searching for any signs of a trip wire or odd colored step.
Search: 22. (flat roll if Rigel is able to help. But if not, here's the disadvantage roll for exhaustion: 12.)
Though as he rounded the bend on the second one, he hunkered down as much as he could behind his shield in anticipation of catching a javelin in the chest, before then pressing on down the passage.

Marcon carefully searches for trapped stairs, but finds nothing more than a few small mice scurrying down the stairs past them.
Up ahead they see another cavern, no...a room. Artificial light pours forth from the room and down the second flight of stairs. From the bottom of the stairs, the party can't see into the room, but they can see the tops of elegant stone columns along the wall on the opposite from the top of the stairwell. The wall appears to be of smooth, worked stone and the party understands that this room is decidedly different from the others they have encountered since entering Wave Echo Cave.
In the short hallway at the top of the stairs, Marcon spies a door on the northern wall.
No voices are heard, but looking at his feet, Rigel is sure this is the path the escaping bugbears followed during their retreat only moments ago.
