The Exploits of Misfit Company

"Why would we raise a dragon to get us cheese?" Kasha asked, perplexed. "I don't understand this fascination you all have with it."

But she quickly snapped out of it. She gasped. "Can I?!" It was like the offer of the century.

“Of course!” Alys would giggle. This was the second time she’s offered the druid to feed the dragon. The elf started to wonder if she was direct enough when communicating. Once again, she’ll offer Kasha, and everyone, a morsel each to offer the hatchling if they wanted. Not more than that though, they wouldn’t want to overwhelm its young belly.

Vastra will accept a morsel from Alys and feed it to Aryn, attempting to bond with the young dragon.

When he sees the others take a piece of meat to feed the baby dragon, Yvan is less hesitant in doing so himself. The goliath would opt to be the last to feed her, kneeling down to get to her height prior to offering the piece of meat to her to eat out of his palm. If given the chance, he will also try to pet her, albeit a bit nervously.

Stella approaches the baby dragon carefully, feeding her some meat and seeing if she can bond a bit.

Roll animal handling, if you get a 1, it bites your hand off.

As you all feed and pet Aryn, one of the servants comes in. "Excuse me, but there's a man at the door. He says that he needs your services and is stressing that it's a matter of urgency." Vastra scoops up Aryn in her arms and leads you all to the foyer, where a dark-skinned man wearing robes and sandals is clearly relieved to see all of you. "Greetings, Misfits." He says in a foreign accent. My name is Faras Avdol. I come from the land of Murimar, far from here. I need your help to save my family, and possibly my country, from a terrible monster."   

Stella frowns, hands coming to rest on the hilts of her blades at the mention of a monster. "Tell us more."

"I come from a heroic lineage. My ancestor was Hiraz Avdol, who 550 years ago defeated Garabad, a tyrant who ruled over our land and used dark magic to keep himself alive after death. But he was too powerful for him to slay, he could only wound him and seal him away. Hiraz stressed that his descendants be vigilant, as well as the people of Murimar, as Garabad would not remain sealed forever. But as the centuries marched on, his words were forgotten, and after centuries of biding their time, the servants of Garabad are ready to release their dark lord and put him back on the throne, and to mark his return, they plan on slaying my family, who they currently hold captive, as a  show of victory against his old enemy. I am ashamed to say that I do not have the strength of my ancestor, but I do have gold, which is why I have been traveling in search of heroes who might be able to save my family and Murimar."

Stella nods slowly. "So you want us to rescue your family. And also keep this Garabad's agents from bringing him back?"

Kasha pops her head out as the man speaks.

"Are you a salesman?" she asks, holding up her hand. "We're all good on magazine subscriptions today, thank you!"

Alys was appreciative of Stella taking the reins in questioning, and Kasha too. While they paid attention to the task at hand, the elf would get too distracted by the hatchling on Vastra’s shoulder. Seeing Aryn’s eyes eventually fall on her, she’d make a couple silly faces before trying to play peekaboo with her. 

Yvan puts a hand on Kasha’s head and ruffles her hair. “No,” He answers simply, though he can’t help but grin a bit at her assumptions. “Another job offer, Kasha.” His hand then falls back to his side as he waits potently for the man to confirm Stella’s to-do list. While waiting, he glances over to Alys who had been making silly faces at the hatchling, a look of endearment crossing his visage for a moment prior to looking back at the gentleman expectantly. 

"Yes. Garabad cannot be allowed to return."

Stella nods slowly. "And what's the pay for this?"

"10,000 gold"

Stella glances at the others, raising an eyebrow. "Sounds like our sort of thing."

Upon hearing the amount of gold, Kasha grabs her throat and begins choking, making loud gagging, wheezing, and gasping noises. She starts turning a shade of purple as her eyes cross, but then immediately returns to normal as if nothing happened.

"Wait, did you say 'dark magic'?" 

"Yes. Garabad wields terrible magic that he used to keep himself alive long after he should have died."

"Sooo, you're NOT a magazine salesman...?" Kasha asks curiously.
