Lionel watched Ketch limping towards the shaft and diving in without a moment's hesitation. "Sure. See you up here... Somewhen." He looked down as well. Ulthan was slowly but surely leading the golem up. Creature's persistence only meant it will not abandon the hunt. "Ulthan, stop shooting, just run!" Whatever the thing did to the hunter, he had to be able to outrun it.

If it is possible for Lionel to get 30ft above Ulthan along the stairs (his own movement plus Misty steps) he will move there, wait for Ultan to come and Dimension Door both of them to the top (this turn or next).

Ketch gets up, his body still covered in hideous black marks from the undeads touches, his deadened sections of flesh still black and terrible. He casts a quick spell on himself, states his plan, and then throws himself from the ledge.  He plummets down past everything and slams into the hard ground below with a meaty, crunchy slam.  39 falling damage. 

Lionel runs past Mordekai and down the top of the stairs, beginning the long run around the outside of the steps.  He makes it 30 feet down the stairs, blinking for another 30 feet.  He's now only 20 feet from Ulthan's back.  

Mordekai looks down and sees Lionel rushing to aid Ulthan, while Ketch's body twitches slightly on the stone floor of the shaft. 

Mordekai, Ulthan, Meepo are up still. 

Mordekai winces as Ketch falls past, knowing he could help. But he doesn't. 

Then he makes his way the 1st 30ft down the stairs, sending a couple more Blasts down at the Golem. 

Attack: 16 Damage: 6

Attack: 23 Damage: 8

Meepo, his portable hole in his hand, moves under the table and climbs the rope up to join the sad wizard.

Ulthan tries to snap out of the molasses he feels trapped by, but hopes all the blood that has poured out of him will cause slippery surface for the golem to trip and fall down since nothing else is working. 6. Not surprisingly failing yet again, he takes out his shield and short sword putting away his bow as he prepares for more blood to be more on the outside than on the inside. He'll try to move back disengaging but obviously impossible to get away. 21

The creature swings at Ulthan as he attempts to back up, but Ulthan ducks out of the way as he manages to slowly creep backwards.   Still though, the creature thuds up towards him, and takes two more swings.  Two blasts from Mordekai hit it as it attacks Ulthan.

At the bottom of the shaft, Ketch's limp form manages to snap enough bones into place that he's able to push himself up off the pavement....his cracked ruined body slowly snapping back into place.  A quick glance into the library shows the other golem standing there in the middle of the room idly.  There is a swarming press of bodies on the left side squirming against some barrier.  Up above Ulthan is being pummeled by the stone golem, some 60 feet up the stairway. 

Back in the room, Meepo crawls into the extradimensional space.  Laffa sits back, giving Meepo a nod as he releases a heavy sigh. "So, you think maybe these undead will sort themselves out in the next hour or so?  That's about how long this little trick will last, but, I suppose you being a powerful necromancering kobold knows all about this sorta thing." 

Everyone's turn!

Ulthan grins to himself as pulling out his shield is the only thing that saved him from more yet broken ribs. He continues to try and fight off the stupid slowness encompassing him. 3.... So he'll just stab at the damn thing.
Attack: 14 Damage: 8

Somehow Ulthan manages to get to a ripe old age where he dies of old age. On his death bed. "hrmpfh.... at...least....the....stupid....slow....spell....will.....end....hrmp..."

Mordekai stays where he is, 30ft from the top of the stairs, and casts Vicious Mockery at the Golem. 

DC18 WIS save or take 5 psychic damage and make the next attack roll with disadvantage. 

Lionel makes takes the last few steps to Ulthan, opens up Dimension Door (mentally thanking the great wizard for the great gift to the party) and transports both himself and Ulthan to the top of the stairs (and some few fts inland away from the shaft). Now he had to wait for Ketch to catch up.

Ketch casts a 3rd level Cure Wounds upon himself for 15 and then books his way up the stairs as quickly as he can...

Meepo doing anything in his hidey-hole? 

Not this round, not sure there is much he 'can' do at this point.

Lionel charges down the stairs, grabs Ulthan, and with a twisting jump, they both appear up above the shaft in the ruins.  A stiff wind blows across the empty ruins. 

The golem looks around, it's victim gone, but sees another one running up the stairs behind it.  5  5  6

It stomps down the stairs towards Ketch. It doesn't quite make it to him, but it does glare meaningfully at him. 

Ketch DC 17 wisdom save or become slowed. 

Ketch, the golem in 20 feet from you now.  

Everyone's next turn!

Mordekai sees the Golem turn on Ketch as Lionel and Ulthan vanish, and decides to revert back to hurling his Eldritch magic rather than just insults.

As a Bonus Action Ketch casts Shield of Faith upon himself for a much needed + to his AC.  Ketch then steps up the 20 feet to engage the Golem in melee and swings his axe...

Giant Slayer Axe Attack: 21 Damage: 8

Ketch then uses his Action Surge to swing his axe once more...

Giant Slayer Axe Attack: 19 Damage: 12

And now that thing was going back again! Lionel went town to lure the thing up.

If he can reach the golem (movement plus his own Misty step which he can make across the shaft?) then attack:

Attack: 11 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

Attack: 11 Damage: 8

and adding 5 of smite to the first roll.

The Golem is now 80 feet down the stairs, and Lionel dimension door'd "some few fts inland away from the shaft", so he can't quite reach the golem, even using his magical step. 

But Mordekai's blast, and Ketch's axe both lay into the creature that stands on the stairs facing Ketch.  Chunks of rock and stone fall from the thing as its body is quickly being degraded. Still though it takes a couple swings at Ketch.

The thing swings clumsily at Ketch missing wide both times.  Now with Lionel's quick arrival, and with Ulthan firing and Mordekai firing from above, it takes only a few moments to destroy the thing. As the last blow is landed, the body crumbles, sending a pile of clattering rocks tumbling down the stairs and off of them into the shaft.  Amidst the chunks of rock, the group notices the glint of a shiny metallic something emerge from within the crumbling rock.  A few moments later and Ketch is able to bend down and pull up a necklace, upon which hangs what is obviously one of three keys needed to get through the door below.  

As the battle is done, there is no sign of undead emerging from the door below. Nor is there any sign of an army's approach from top side. Lastly, there is no sign of Meepo or Laffa, both of whom were left back in the room, but only one of whom you really care about. 

But there was another golem. And if the key was inside one - does it mean one more golem is hiding somewhere? Lionel said all of this as he was walking down the stairs to join the "bait squad". He still thought luring the constructs up was the right way to deal with them.
