Choirs words gave Polly an idea. “We don’t have time for a forgery, bur we don’t need one.” She say cryptically and start to dig in her pack for a scroll or an empty paper. “What should we put in the forgery? I’ll make one magically.”

Adray nods, "sounds like we are in agreement." He then pulls out his badge and begins moving towards the gate. Stopping a good 10-15 feet from the entrance and shouts, "Hey, open up."

Choir carefully chooses some of Captai Zodge's words.
"The refugee crisis. Some of these self-righteous rabble-rousers had an audacity to get into our city. These dirty bastards are taking advantage of the current crisis to commit murder sprees throughout the city. We're arresting them on sight. And, for the love of Baiduran , be nice"

"In the middle of the night? What kind of a business?" The Watchman does not really sound very inquisitive, the tone is more of a small talk - night shifts are boring and hard to keep, any amusement is precious. Impressive tirade from Choir made him to raise his brows and, most likely, a degree of curiosity. "What bastards?" finally added he one more question.
"Highly doubt that someone could sneak on our watch." The Watchman shook his head and then confidentially continued, "they do say some manage to pass true lesser gates. Ok, show your badges and go." He looked at all of you even more curiously but not without a hint of camaraderie: "Have not being long in Fists? I can tell. Had my share of policing that mess down there too. Full year now as got lucky and was chosen to fill the spot in Watch. Good job, safe, secure. Respected too." He sighed, " Hell, I miss those days!"
While the others did all the talking, Fran would just follow along with a cool and collective expression. She'd present her badge as she'd go along, Brutus padding along beside her.
Adray takes the lead and pulls out a badge and holds it from him to see. "Yea? Well come back down any time for some fun. Just the other day we got into it with some rowdy pirates. Crazy stuff. Anyways, if we find anything we'll make sure ta come find ya."
The talkative guard nodded and sighed again, and all of you - they did not even bother to check Reya - we allowed to pass. Even at night time the scenery was quite impressive, especially for you - used to the lower city with it's deliberately narrow dirty streets and unwashed crowd.
The Upper City, home to the patriar aristocracy of Baldur’s Gate, was indeed a place of beauty and splendor, where magnificent public sculptures stand alongside historic manors, upscale theaters and boutiques, and tiny stone-walled gardens tucked among the streets like hidden jewels. Flowers bloom along the tree-lined streets, ushering away any stray miasma that escapes from the less fortunate quarters below.
Everything in the Upper City speaks of privilege and wealth. At this hour magical lights illuminate the clean-swept streets, some even bearing enchantments that hold back the river fog. Residents of the Upper City feel great pressure to maintain outward appearances, and keep their estate’s facade finely maintained - admitting to poverty in this district is admitting to shameful failure.
It's clean, quiet and beautiful - Elturel could have look like this, or does look like this now (where ever it is), when the light of Companion is quenched. But you did not came here to sight-seeing, and visible in a distance true patrol of the Upper City - several Watchmen - was a good remind about your the goal. Reya, who already scouted the area, confidently led the group to the building in the north-west part.
As she described previously, Vanthampur Villa is a stately stone edifice with a detached stable house. Both buildings have sloped rooftops covered with red clay tiles that you can see above the 12-foot-high stone wall enclosing the villa. As any other big house in the Upper City, Villa features bright lanterns, hanging along the wall’s interior and illuminating the yard and the house itself. There are indeed three wooden gates — the main entrance and a coach gate to the south, and a postern gate to the north near the stables. It does not look like the wall is covered with some broken glass or spikes at the top, robbery is not expected here, where The Watch spent most of it's time removing undesirable elements form the streets.
Turning to the group Adray asks, "so what's the plan, do we scale a wall, try to to lure someone out and ambush them? Oh, how about I pretend to be bleeding, Polly makes it look like I have a gruesome wound, Fran runs frantically to get help from someone manning the gate and when they step out Ordrag and Choir knock him out."
“I Could do a loud boom somewhere. Then they would probably go check it out. Or I could conjure an image for them to investigate. But it probably wont be long for them too realize that it is an illusion though.”
Choir peeks into the stable, wondering if there is anyone watching over things here. If there are any horses standing ready in saddle or harness, she should probably make sure to stop them from being used as a quick getaway for the Vanthampur.s

Choir did not peek into the stable just yet! Not by entering, at least - there are windows, and in the very deem light of yet another magic lantern inside, you could see four box stalls with silhouettes of huge - most likely draft - horses in them. Here is the map:
You are standing outside the wall. The small building north is the stable, but the doors leading there are inside as well. Gates are all closed. Most likely there are guards inside (Reya mentioned them).

The old 'Get Help' ploy eh? But them posh folks probably just call the Watch. Ordrag scratches his head and tries to think.
But a distraction might help us jump the wall unseen. Maybe one of them illusions eh?
How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
