You can spend the whole night reading and what you'll find is:
Since I don't want to do the work to list it all I will say you learn every dnd 5e published ability about mind links and communication -- communication spells would also be listed in the book but briefly and only in reference to the innate powers. This does not include any UA material for story reasons -- its new, undiscovered, or just for some reason very little has been written on it but it does exist.
Palisade/Malizath:
The imp zips in as Kai re-enters in disguise. Malizath sees a few ones, some more prominently displayed than others.
Kai:
Adamar eyes the gold. He looks at you. He picks up the dagger and plays around with it for a second. He breaths a deep sigh. "That's the thing about magic... those that need it... can usually afford it. Look, I'll be honest with you. You seem like a nice person. If you come up with another 125gold you can have that shortsword you asked about. That's my basement on that one. I could enchant your dagger but it'd be more pricey. You see, it takes time and materials and that just isn't something I have in spare right now. If you can't come up with 550 for the shortsword, I'm sure you'll be back soon. People don't usually walk around with that much coin if they aren't capable of earning more of it."
He flips the dagger up in the air, catches it by the tip of the blade holding the handle out to you and says, "Sorry I can't do anymore than that."

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
Kallak never really considered buying anything like this for herself to use. She was much more accustomed to shipping things like this to customers. Following several of her new companions around shops, she is drawn to things that reflect the tempest, like the storm boomerang, or anything that emits lightning or thunder. She does pick up a Lamannian oak focus and a healing potion. She almost picks up some items that would allow her to read people's thoughts, but she decides to save her money.
(OOC: sorry for late and brief posting!)
ooc: sorry, wasn't clear to me. are you buying the focus and healing potion?

Valia nods a little in disappointment while stowing her belongings, "Suppose I'll just have to make do with what I've got then." She eyes him for a moment after watching his own dexterous actions with her dagger.
"I don't suppose you've got any curatives for headaches? Something to help relax after a long day?" She idly taps her fingers in a specific rhythm on the counter as she speaks. If he was in the know as she hoped, he'd understand the Theive's Cant as "Selling poison's or ingredients?" If not, she'd only asked him for medicine.
Stopping by a very very old fletcher's shop, Kallak manages to buy 20 more crossbow bolts for 1gp without saying a word. She just holds up one of her bolts and then ten fingers twice, and smiling when the fletcher, who is also mostly deaf, holds up a gold coin. She flips one into his hands and he catches it and waves her at a box full of dusty-looking but perfectly straight bolts, letting her count out 20. He's done business with Kupow Enterprises before, and they get along well. She also snags a misshapen piece of scrap wood on the way out.
She heads back to the Pleasant View Inn, and sits down at the table near Rixton. She spends about 15 minutes slowly joining the Lamannian oak focus into a gap in her shield so that when she holds it, her wrist touches the focus. It sparkles with a little static electricity once she finishes, and she winks at Rixton. She orders a plowman's plate and a pint, and digs in, trying and failing to not glance over at the book Rixton is reading too much.
She pulls out the scrap wood and a curved, small, sharp-looking knife and peers at it for a while. Eventually she starts making small cuts to the wood from different angles, whittling away at one corner and then slowly planing down a flat surface. She'll grunt in satisfaction or dissatisfaction every few minutes. The floor is absolutely covered in sawdust and swarf [OOC: one of my favorite words].
Kravek makes his way to the Inn where he will have a drink first then find the fireplace. Kravek will sit on the ground in front of the fireplace.
He then takes out a bag containing small flat stones that each have engravings. Having all the small stones in his hands he dusts some of them of and takes a deep breath relaxing himself for a moment speaking a few words in giant.
I pray to you mighty ones.
Kravek takes stones out of his hand and place them in front of himself. With some he does not say a word, others however he speaks some more giant as he looks at the symbol on the stone. Taking them out in random order however 1 he keeps for last.
Placing the stone with the symbol of a club
Grolantor, may your will be with me and strenghten my resolve
Placing the stone with the flaming sword
Surtur, may your fire cleanse my path.
And the last one he places with a pair of hands with their wrists together and the fingers pointing downward
Annam, may your strenght and wisdom guide me.
After placing the last one he closes his eyes and places his hands on his knees remaining seated on the floor. The fire crackles in front of him as Kravek remains silent, motionless. Only the fur of his clothing waving in the wind as new patrons enter the Inn.
Seemingly staying this way a while he finally opens his eyes again watching the fire for a few moments more before he starts gathering the stones again and placing them back in his bag.
He then gets up again and looking around finds the table with the recently met companions.
Malizath looks around for a bit as if he is going to take one of the wands. Due to not knowing if any would be useful without Palisade to identify which wand would do what he instead try to get the owner to tell him. He calls out, turning visible
"Hey which of these wands is good for dealing a bit of damage to something? My master is busy and wishes for me to retrieve one so that I can deal with his rat problem. He told me his retainer would be along to pay you soon."
Rixtonbookmark's his spot when Olivewalks in, moving over to her table while she awaits her order, which she did not seem to give to anyone. On receiving her attention, Rixtonsays, loudly enough for the others in their party to hear, "I'm pretty sure King Fireheart's plan to attract the bravest in the city really just brought out the idiots. Like you," he says, gesturing to Olive. "You are an idiot. Top of the class, I'd wager."
Rixtoncontinues before Olivecan say anything in response. "You know others are not like you. You said as much during the battle, telling us how to respond to you because...well, you knew we could not do what you do. Do you know any others with your ability?" Rixtonholds up his book and waggles it a little. "Because you are not alone."
As Olive'sdrink arrives, Rixtonpauses, but then moves forward breathlessly. "Have you heard of Kefai Pantimi? She did not dream. Not ever. She was renowned for her charity work. A true paragon. Gradually, she withdrew from the world, though. She sought to sleep more and more, desiring not for the company of others. She sought only to commune with the spirit to whom she was connected all her life. Her last 'great work' was to publish a nonsensical account of the memories of her spirit...er...companion. Frankly, I couldn't get through the first chapter of that one...
"And then there was Vash Tanner. You might have heard of the fire that destroyed Loggerham. Almost everyone died, locked in the town hall. That was Vash. They took him alive when his poppy dealer handed him over for the reward money. I've heard poppy withdrawal feels like being burned alive, which is just, if you think about it. They found out Vash did not dream either. He tried everything to silence his 'watcher', as he called it. Threats, which he made good on, concoctions, booze, none of them worked. He couldn't escape what he was. Nor the noose, for that matter. I don't think Vash ever realized what he was, now that I think about it."
As Olivetakes up her drink, Rixtonfinishes his diatribe. "If I was a betting man, and I can assure you that I am, I would put money on you not being a dreamer either. The only thing I am not certain of is which type of idiot you are? Are you a Kefai Pantimi or are you a Vash Tanner?"
Rixtondoes not look smug, or self-satisfied. He looks, for once, earnest as he poses the question to Olive.
Adamar looks over the imp. "Well I'm sure he is. But you're going to just have to wait for that to happen. Nobody walks out of here without paying for what they got. If they are in peril, tell the guards. So if you'd like to wait... I have a nice wand over here that shoots magical missiles... It would work out nicely for your...rat. problem."
"No waiting is not an option. I shall find another shop that is more willing to work with me for my master. He shall not at all be pleased that his demands were not met. It is unfortunate for you as he plans to buy thousands of gold worth of items in order to go on a trek for the king..." With a shrug and a look of almost sympathy for the elf, Malizath goes invisible once more. "Oh before I go can you recommend another shop?"
After a little more time spent in the market, Kai has returned to his prime persona. He managed to acquire some reagents for future healing potions and a few odds and ends he likes to keep on hand for those who might look for more...illicit substances. He is only delayed by stopping into a textile shop for a new outfit. Having practiced his bargaining at the highest tier earlier, he is able to convince the merchant to sell him a suit of Shiftweave for fine discount.
Pleased he returns to the Pleasant View Tavern to find most of the party already settled in.
"Ah, compatriots! We must gather and discuss." He walks in and sits at the table with Olive and Rixton, "If I am to write an ballad of our adventures then I must know more about each of you! I will obviously go first."With a bit of dramatic flair he clears his throat, "I am, Kai Kerrigan, entertainer, musician, medicinal proprietor, and sometimes hero. I have traveled much of the Round." Referring to the ring like land of Frell. "But I am always eager to see more!"
"Now, who else would like to share?" Kai pulls out a bit of paper and a graphite pencil to take notes.
Once she finishes carving down the piece of wood, anyone taking a closer look would see a wooden sculpture of a flame, frozen in mid-crackle, with intricate ice crystals running along the tongues of fire. She pockets the knife and begins playing with the piece of wood with a small smile playing at the corners of her mouth, heedless if the pile of swarf on the ground.
Kallak tries to follow Rixton's line of inquiry with Olive, and finds the details a bit hard to track. But the sparks of conflict that keep igniting make her cast long, penetrating looks at members of the party, making her skeptical of their likelihood for success regarding anything that doesn't involve combat.
As Kai begins his spiel about trying to get to know one another a bit more, she smiles and nods, standing up and bringing her pint closer to the (bard? scholar? charlatan?). In reply to his question, she reaches out her hand to shake. "Kallak Kupow."Long, long pause. Deep breath. "Wanderer, stormchaser, cleric of Auril, sculptor, sailor, soldier -- if rusty. Family's in shipping, way up north."She waves her hand around to take in the inn, and the assembling motley group, and the burn marks on the street outside from the fight earlier."More interesting."
She leans back, seemingly exhausted, and takes a long pull from her glass. She looks out the window, hoping for some clouds in the sky and the rumble of thunder to cover any further need for conversation.
Rixton'ssmirk returns. "You and me both. I don't want your life story, sister. I just want to know what kind of danger you are to this group. I have trust issues."
Rixtonstands up, one palm flat on the table while he clutches the book to his chest. "I think I have the sense of it," he says. "Besides, I already secured you 200 gold. You're most welcome for that, by the way."
Rixtonreturns to his seat and plops down in it, kicking his feet up on the table and returning to his place in the book.
Kravek sits at the table taking a sip from his drink as the others are speaking. Hearing Kai and Kallak give introductions but not yet responding to it himself.
More interested in the confrontation between Rixton and Olive. Not sure of what Rixton had discovered, and also not sure if he just called all of us idiots.
He thinks to himself "Is this the party i am to go travel with? Unsure of who everyone is or what their motivations are and not even sure of what they are."
"They would surely die if Kravek would not go along, they might even end up killing eachother. Perhaps this was a test from the gods, to challenge Kravek."
He continues watching Olive and Rixton, arms crossed against his chest waiting for how this plays out.
Song joins the rest of the party in the magic shop. This is enough money to pay her rent for months - blowing it on a trinket seems unreal. On the other hand - these are some damn nice trinkets.
She admires the broom and the boots of elvenkind - a friend of hers back home had managed to get a pair of those, and they made sneaking into places so easy, no one could ever hear him move. But the robe of useful items - out of her price range, but....
"I'm interested in the robe. Would you be willing to take a wand of fireworks in part exchange?" she said, trying to play down the -works part of the word. Maybe he'd get distracted by Olive's antics and mistake it for a wand of fireballs? Stranger things have happened - just today in fact. Speaking confidently, she adds "We were responsible for putting down the elemental attack this morning, and we've been commissioned to hunt down the cause. As my friend said, we're making a lot of purchases to help us do this - are you able to offer a discount?"

"Ah, that was you lot huh?" He eyes you up and down, "Well, I do like how polite yer being. Let me see that for a second." He takes the cloak. He starts inspecting the patchs on the inside.
"Hmm, I should have looked at this one closer before. Welp. I'll tell you what you reach inside and take off three of those patches without lookin' and give them to me. I'll take the wand and 200gp for it."
