(I will agree and say that spiritual weapons do float and can ignore terrain rules)
Incensed that a snake would be able to stop him, Jororic rushes it and swings his axes wildly. The first seems to bounce off of the translucent body, but the second on strikes it in the jaw (6 slashing damage, already halved by resistance; plus 7 also already halved). It's form begins to fade in and out as the wear of battle is beginning to take its toll, but it's attention is clearly.
Tapping into her innate reserves, Lia conjures three fiery lances. All three strike their target, with one of them hitting it in the eye, making it writhes in pain (17 fire damage, already halved by resistance).
While keeping back to give aid to Smallfry (9 HP restored), Valentia has her spectral mace go after the monster and its strike makes contact (8 force damage).
SNake's turn
In its desperation, the snake tries to wrap itself around Jororic.
Constrict Attack: 22 Damage: 15
With its powerful muscles holding him tight (15 bludgeoning damage), it backs up a little bit and throws Jororic at Oswin (Opening it up for Opportunity attack from Oswin)
Throw Attack: 13 Damage: 9
Oswin braces himself for the flying dwarf and catches him before he hits the ground, avoiding further harm to both (miss).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
If it's allowed, I'll use my reaction to parry the snake's grapple attack to reduce damage by: 11
Parry
When another creature damages you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction and expend one superiority die to reduce the damage by the number you roll on your superiority die + 3.
(Technically, Smallfry isn't immediately after Jororic, but neither of the others rolled with advantage, so... I'll just use it here I guess? If not, I can reroll without it)
Darting into the room, Smallfry sprints to H8. Jororic's distracting strike leaves the snake reeling, and Smallfry raises his bow to take advantage of the opening.
As the ethereal serpent backs up to throw its captive dwarf, Oswin takes the opportunity to strike at it. His spear buries itself deep within the snake. As he retracts it, a large amount of viscera is dragged out with it. It suddenly releases Jororic from its grip and falls to the ground, motionless (10magical piercing damage and dead).
Smallfry tries to put a couple of arrows into it to make sure it's dead. While the arrows bounce off, no reaction is seen or heard.
Instead, the large snake fades and what remains is a fine, silvery and golden powder.
"Hate to poop on the party," Smallfry says, "but I dunno how comfortable we should let ourselves get. Those torches look super weird, and I don't even know what that... thing at the back of the room is. Main thing that's wigging me out is that the orb downstairs brought stuff back when it was blue, and there's a blue torch over there..."
Scanning the room, Jororic says, "We may wanna take a short breather. It looks like yer could ben'fit from some pa'ching up!" he says directly to Smallfry. "We said we'd come back in one piece, so let's not rush off and find the snake's mate lurking nearby." Staring at the braziers, he adds, "Yeah, dem colored lights be strange fer all da ruin in dis place!"
Lia would find a place to sit down and rest. She would 'help' anyone investigating the area for anything of interest though, then return to resting.
"I need a breather before we move onward." Lia would inform the others as they finish up the searching. "Need to regain some of my spells before moving ahead, or I won't be much aid in here."
While the danger has passed, the party still is a little wary of some objects around the room. Namely, the blue and red torches, and the glass and green stone frame that is no longer displaying a green field, but now a landscape of rolling hills. Jororic also expresses concerns of another ghostly snake as Oswin collects the dusty remains after repairing his mechanical comrade.
"Resting would sure be nice, yeah," Smallfry admits. "I vote we keep our eyes open though. Anybody sees or hears anything weird, feel free to holler."
I'd like to slowly, cautiously approach the glass and stone frame, backing away if anything changes, but otherwise I would like to investigate the frame during the short rest - just idly looking at it, seeing if I can figure out any particular patterns, or even get an idea of what it is. (Without touching it.)
Jororic takes some time to catch his breath (4 hp recovered) before sitting for a spell along. Smallfry and Lia do the same.
Lia studies the glass and green stone frame as it changes landscapes every ten minutes to a lush forest, a rocky coastline, a large collection of luminous fungus in a deep cave, a vast desert with rolling dunes, a murky swamp, and a vibrant, flowery field.

((if I remember correctly, there was a small room to the left of the entry doors. As we finish with the short rest, Jororic will wander over that way and take a look))

edit: welp, there goes my good day
Oswin will strike at the serpent as it pulls away, and again after he dodges his ally.

Oswin will take a few moments to cast mending on SD to get it up and back to full before trying to gather up the powder, or as much as possible.

ooc: looks like we're agreed for a short rest, is Lia asking for a long rest?
Nope, Lia is just asking for a short rest.
Lia would study the glass frame as well, during the short rest. (Giving the help action to any investigation checks done on it.)
Before the short rest, I'll use my second wind 11

Oswin will help Jororic.
(Advantage from help roll: 21)
Oswin and Jororic look in a small room in the side. Outside of a weathered chest in the back of the room, they find nothing remarkable.

Can I like, investigate investigate the shifting frame upstairs? Also should I apply my short rest?
