Looking around, you could swear that the mouths of the kobolds that were slain were mirroring the movements of the one that's still alive.

Moreover, a second look shows that they look eerily similar. As if it was the exact same kobold! Even the voice is the same as the one who spoke in the first place.
"Plan needs change. More needed. Get more, take mountain then take town."
A grinding sound is heard in the distance followed shortly by a metallic clanking sound and reddish-magenta is seen, and the latter two start getting closer.
"No more puppets. I come for real." The kobolds in the immediate area fade away.
The air feels strange as minecart starts rolling up on the other track, ridden by a larger kobold in hooded robes.
Out, everyone out." Lia calls out, and moves towards the exit herself. Whatever this is she is not going to face it without a lot more prepperations. To Valentia... "If you speak to them again I might just shoot you instead of them..."
Valentia responds to Lia in a surprisingly calm voice. "Actually, I think you've got a point now." And with that, she turns around and starts running towards the exit with them, but not before casting Command on the taller kobold that just arrived left with hopes of aiding the party's escape. What she says to cast it is "Flee!"

As soon as the kobold jumps out of the cart, Valentia issues a command to it.

(Save or fail the kobold is going to give chase, in the case of fail those in the back will basically have a 90-foot headstart. The chase will be run as an encounter would. From where Nephina is, it is 240 feet from the entrance of the mine. If at least the majority make it out the door and close it as an action, no need to lock, you will have escaped. Delay and stopping tactics like Valentia did are acceptable, the kobold will be expected to do the same. For simplicity, the kobold will be last in the initiative order and what Valentia did will not be considered her turn for the round.)
Feeling the danger the kobold represents, the party unanimously elects to book it for the door.

As if its will was made of steel, the kobold shakes off the compulsion and lets out a roar at its adversaries.
Valentia, knowing she was the furthest away from the exit, decides that no delaying tactic would be worth it right now, so she uses her action to dash running towards the door as well.
Valentia rethinks the spell she used before. It might just work this time, and it'd certainly get her a lot bigger advantage if it did. So, after walking all her movement, she uses an action to use Command again, saying the same command one more time. "Flee!"

Unabated, the kobold continues forward mutters something while extending its arm and four darts (2nd level magic missile) burst from its hand, and they strike everyone in the party.
