Gulgus moves in slowly behind the rest of the group while looking around marveling at the engineering and construction required. "Gordul!" he swears in Dwarvish. He particularly tries to identify any mechanism used to open and close the door while listening to try and identify the faint sound.
If understanding Dwarvish:
Gordul = "gods forfend!" or "gods, look at this!" (an oath of amazement or despair)
"I wish I could say I have. But this is beyond my imagining!" Nessarian says as he takes a look around, himself. He moves to one of the covered objects and starts to take some notes.
Alden moves through the facility, alert to any danger that may be lurking.
Lia is a bit too concerned with an attack from the outside to pay any particular attention to anything specific.
Gulgin's attempts to pay attention to multiple things at once prove to be unfruitful in this unknown environment.
Oswin sends his SD ahead of him as the scout out the source of the sound, which seems to be emanating from the smaller structure in the back. As they get closer, they start to hear fragments of something. Most likely decayed after hundreds of years.
".....rt... un... ..ry .... ... plo... In.. e..." The broken message seems to be looping.
With a shrug, as the others seem intent on checking things out, Lia moves to one of the other covered items, not the one the wizard went to, and uncovers it, trying to see what it is.
As Oswin follows the broken message to it source, which appears to be coming from somewhere above the smaller substructure. The closer he gets, the more detail he is able to make out. It appears to be only large enough to accommodate a room the size of a tavern's common room. But, as he gets closer, he sees a window that has a layer of thick dust., but he is able to see there would be another room inside of it. At the top of the opposite wall, he sees mounted letters, some of which had fallen off, but what he is able to see is P__JE_T I__N SK_ES.
As Alden keeps his wits about him, he feels a slight vibration underfoot, getting less slight by the minute. He also hears a couple of metallic squeaks in the distance followed by something falling to the floor. At the same time, he sees a number of vermin (which he deduces are the animal life that Gulgin was detecting) start to scurry around as if to find some sort of hiding place but aren't able to find any.
In contrast to Nessarian's more measured approach to the cloth covered objects, Lia opts to throw one off to see what was underneath the smallest one, with Gulgin providing some more reliable light. Revealed, is a a metallic construction, the size of a carriage, and vaguely bird-shaped. Its body is barrel shaped with a cones on its ends, one side tapering off much more sharply than the other.. Attached to the top of the main body, is a long plank-like construction, but its edges seems to resemble the shape of rudders of large sailing vessels. Smaller, similar pieces of the same material are in an upside-down T-shape at the far end. On the side of the body is an inscription in three languages. Lia recognizes two of them, but Gulgin can understand all three. In Common, Elvish, and Dwarvish, they all say the same thing: MODEL 1: HERON.
"So maybe that creature we came here to find wasn't actually a creature at all..." Lia says as she sees the bird-like contraption. "Maybe it was a construct, like this..." She moves to the other cloth-covered things and pullls the rest of the cloth away.

Gulgus
Gulgus, scratching his beard, ventures over underneath where the "P__JE_T I__N SK_ES"letters are mounted and looks on the floor to possibly identify any fallen letters that may bring clarity to what was written.

Lia takes off some more cloths, revealing similar constructs. But each has a markedly different design, probably each had a different purpose. MODEL 2:PEREGRINE has a sleeker, but sturdy design, with its wings more on the side of its body. MODEL 3: HARRIER is more aggressive looking, with attachments on its wings that have a slight magical charge.
Gulgin breaks off with Lia and joins up with Oswin to inspect the interior of the substructure. They are able to find an old door to get inside. With slight effort, it opens... Then falls off of its hinges with a THUD!The inside of the room has what remains of a large table and remnants of wooden chairs surrounding it. On the side of the mounted letters is another door, this one ajar.
More interested in what the mounted letters say, Gulgin searches the immediate area under the rest is able to find a an "R" with it's straight line broken near the end, a bent "O," two arcs that clearly fit together to make a "C," something that looks like a "P" that has a jagged edge as if something was there before, a more intact "O" with a missing mounting hook, and what looks like a single line that looks like it is nearly snapped in half.
Alden now more alert due to the strange behavior of the vermin keeps his wits about him.

Right next to Alden, the floor opens up next to him. Raising up this new opening is a platform carrying a suit of armor. As soon as the platform reaches the party's current floor. Steam hisses and a light from within flashes to life as its right arm, holding a jagged sword in its arms raises to a ready position.
As this was happening, back in the substructure, Gulgin barely sees a four dim lights glowing nearby. Two wolf-like metallic beings have been attempting to ambush Oswin and him.
Lia moves to the one called Harrier, and sees if there is some sort of pilot station, or if it looks to be more of a construct than a vehicle of some sort. She would climb up onto it to look around. (How big are these things?)

Gulgus
Gulgus is muttering to himself looking at the floor and upward at the still mounted letters and questioningly says, "Project Iron Skies?" As soon as he does he sees the approaching wolf-like metallic beings and curses, "Slag! What be this?!?"
The smaller ones are range from large to huge. Each of them have a way to get inside. If you want to attempt to operate them, you will need to succeed on an Arcana check. Also, Lia still needs to roll initiative.
Oswin looks away from the mechanism at the sound and sends SD ahead a little and slowly follows him in.

"Slag me ole eyes an' ears! If a medusa comes a gawkin' or a harpy were to serenade me they'd betray me like they were a hundred years younger!"
Gulgus moves close to Lia and casts Produce Flame and extends his hand out toward what she's uncovering. "Let's shine a wee bit o' color on it."
