"This is new," Renata says, as she feels the physical change to her lower half. She slogs around a bit to get a feeling of the movement, intrigued, rather than frustrated, by the invertebrate formation of her new legs. She focuses her gaze at the flickering signals in front of her, her hands reaches up, circling in the air and extracts three bullets of arcane energy, that shoot right into the wavering collection.

Players' turns
Lia is first to act by bringing out her old standard, a spectral dagger, which swings at the loud, chaotic mass. Due to its chaotic nature, the dagger was narrowly unable to make contact with it (miss).
She follows up with a thin, chilling blast. While it appears to just go through it, the aberration's movements became noticeably slower (3 cold damage already halved by resistance)
Renata files her predicament as odd and quickly gets to the task at hand by launching several inerrant magical blasts into the anomaly, causing its form to alternatly flash black and white with each hit (11 force damage).
Monster's turn
The strange thing creeps forward (it now occupies E-4, E-5, F-4 and F5). With it so close to Kysdiane, it is almost impossible for him to hear anything around him (he is effectively deafened.) Its edges then start getting jagged, but its makes no new noise. But whatever it's doing, a ringing starts building in everyone's minds.
Roll INT save DC 14. A failed roll will cause 5 psychic damage and next attack roll will take a 1d4 penalty.
Kysdiane touches his emblem as the creature advances and draws on the power of his oath to attempt to resist the ringing in his mind.
Intelligence Save: 16
Managing to resist the effect, Kysdiane touches the emblem on his shoulder once more and releases a blast of positive magical energy. A faint red glow now surrounds Kysdiane, Lia, Renata, Avia, and Gulgus and they feel some level of protection from this creature's mental attacks. He also focuses and diverts some of the energy to his flail. Imbued with divine energy, his flail also begins to emanate a slightly red glow. Deciding that his position should be to defend his friends, Kysdiane stays in melee with this creature to prevent it from going after any of his new allies.

shake off the ringing in their minds. But for Renata, the ringing gets much more intense to the point of a bad headache (5 psychic damage and 1d4 penalty on next attack roll).
Players' turns
Gulgus and his mini-menagerie go on the attack. His first throws his source of light at it, which goes right is side before dissapating. He is sure he did something to it. His hyena and jackal then close in to bite at it. They hyena is able not nab a bit of it before it slips out of its mouth while the jackal is unable to even graze it (8 fire and piercing damage, halved by resistance to fire and nonmagical physical attacks).
Now seeing what the aberration is capable of, Kysdiane calls upon his holy powers to better shield his companions' minds.
Avia sends her own counjured creature to strike at the chaotic mass whule striking at it with a bolt. Her animal companion evidently distracts it with its jaws (miss) enough for the bolt to graze it (2 piercing damage, halved by resistance to nonmagical physical attacks).
The loud, disorienting screeching pierces through Renata's mind that leaves her in pain. She pulls out her staff of the python and throws it on the ground. Even though the ringing in her ears has blocked out any noise, she speaks out "Vatra!", the staff turns into a giant constrictor snake.
With Renata's bonus action, she casts misty step on herself, her figure dissipates in a puff of silver smoke, and appears behind Lia at C7. As the giant snake crawls up around the moving static and tries to constrict it.
Giant Constrictor Snake: Constrict. Attack: 19 Damage: 10 If hits, the target is grappled (escape DC 16).
(OOC: I know in the description, the snake is supposed to have its own initiative, but I figure it's easier if it just takes its turn after Renata's. Let me know if you want me to roll initiative for the snake.)
(@ WhiteByakko, yeah, that makes more sense rather than adding more to what would've been an already-bloated initiative list.)
Players' turn
Staying where she is, Lia continues her magical assault. Her mace manages a grazing blow (4 force damage) as she launches another icy ray at it. Only for the thing's warping surface to inadvertently move out of the spell's path(miss).
As this was happening, Renata adds to the ever-expanding zoo by turning her staff into a serpent. It manages to coil itself around the cacophonous mass and constrict. Some of its seems to come through some of the pythons knots (5 squeezing damage - seriously why would it be bludgeoning? - halved by resistance to nonmagical attacks). Shortly after, Renata teleports away to give her ears some reprieve.
