"What do you think?" Renata asks the others. She waits a second, and if there is no motion from the skeleton she gingerly approaches skeleton and does a more close inspection, careful not to touch it or disturb it in anyway.
Gulgus also stands beside Lia, watching Renata as she examines the corridor. He whispers, "If ye gonna die, havin' a pickaxe in ye hand be as good a way as any."
Renata examines the skeletal remains as Lia and Gulgus look on, prepared for anything that may happen during examination. Thankfully, the bones remain still as she approaches it.
Renata is able to learn quite a bit about the deceased being and the area around it. The stout, thick bones are indicative of a dwarf. Many of its bones seem to have been broken, the left side the skull was caved in and a dark, brown stain is underneath, so the was no question on the cause of death. There are noticeable cracked divots on the floor, as if something very heavy had fallen in those places.
Considering the lack of other remains around in this mine shaft, this dwarf may have been in a deadly fight and whatever killed it went elsewhere.
"It should be safe," Renata says to others, as she pulls back from the skeleton sorrowfully, "The body belonged to a dwarf... they must've gotten into a fight with something. Something deadly..." She points to the broken bones and the caved in skull.

Gulgus
Gulgus, noting the divots on the floor and the cause of death possibly coming from above, takes careful notice of the ceiling to make certain there isn't any danger from above.
With the assurance that there is no present danger, some of the group does some searching.
Lia takes the opportunity to survey the surrounding area. Down one of the branches of the mine, she notices something that seems to be glittering halfway down the 40 foot-long passage. Something that appears to be a iridescent stalagmite, looking to be completely out of place compared to the kind of stone the mine itself is cut from.
Avia tries to find any traces to what killed the dwarf. She does find some heavy scrapes along the walls and floor of the mine until she reaches to where there there seems to be a partial collapse of the stone wall in a separate branch of the mine.
Gulgus keeps an eye on the ceiling for anything that might be the cause of the dwarf's demise. However, nothing of particular note was seen as any significant overhanging structures seem to have been cut away.

Kysdiane will step up to the stalagmite and take a closer look trying to identify the source of the stalagmite's iridescence. "There must be something that is causing this. Either the stalagmite is magical, or something else is making it do this."

Lia calls attention to the strange structure and Kysdiane is the first take a look at it. As he looks around to try to ascertain it's nature, once he puts his hand, it shifts. A fleshy mass starts appearing from underneath the stalagmite. Soon part of the fleshy portion begins to curve upwards until it reaches 5 feet tall. Five spiked protrusions sprout from the top and starts moving wildly around.

Avia looks at the skeleton briefly, then continues on into the room, hoping to find any evidence of what fought and killed the poor dwarf.

"Hey guys, what do you make of that?" Lia asks, directing everyone to the iridescent stalagmite.
As she does so Lia moves towards the stalagmite in question. She tries to get a better look at it, how high is it above the floor?
