Lia explores the machine and can more clearly hear the voice and can hear it coming from the front. She is able to make out some of the words being said. What's more, is she recognizes the voice as well. However, it it's one she hasn't heard for a long time and the fact it's speaking common also throws her. But unmistakably it belongs to the creature she had encountered a long time ago.
"... incredible that this is still working... I thought that place was long destroyed... Is someone there?"
Gulgus backs up to Kysdiane covering his entrance into the machine. His eyes still wandering and looking for where the voice is coming with a confused look on his face.
(Lia's player is currently unavailable and has requested that her character would be under DM control for the weekend)
As Gulgus and Kysdiane move futher toward the back of the construct they begin to hear the voice more clearly.
Lia goes deeper into the machine, following the the source of the voice. Her search brings her to a small room to the left side (facing toward the front). The room contains a pedestal that contains a small bowl with a small ethereal orb floating just above it. It is within this orb that Lia sees the owner of the voice she was following.
"Ah, I should have guessed you had a hand in reactivating this," the Nuckelavee says as it sees Lia, with a dull surprise.
Lia keeps her silence, still very suspicious of the aberration.
"You and your little group's activities are attracting no small amount of attention."
"Is that a threat...?"
"A warning. Quite frankly you are proving enough of a distraction for Overseer Lyssida and me to move more freely ever since you first stumbled into the Wyrdrealm."
Kysdiane doesn't react immediately to the voice, and instead stays put and tries to hide as best as he can. Once he believes that he has confidently hidden, he approaches slowly and tries to get as close as he can to the aberration.
As Lia and the creature converse, Kysdiane, now inside of the construct enters the room very quietly. He is even sure that the monster had not seen him as he gets closer to the altar.
"A rather complex answer," it replies while bringing a hand to its chin while the other, horse-like head shakes as it dips down for a moment. "The dragon Scerfozar was slain around a millenium or two ago, in the timeline your plane of existence. It was able to not only split its soul in half - I was one of the results. But, also send them to the Wyrdrealm, the true world of dreams. As far as I know, my other half was sent there as well."
"Ok..." Lia says with a confused frown. "So, what now?" She asks the being. "Do you know how to activate this thing, or use that circle outside to get it out of this lower chamber?"
"I wouldn't know, I am not there. Nor have I been in the dream version of it, if such exists. I have only heard of it," the creature responds. "Though, it seems you're already nearly accomplished what you are there for. I certainly cannot boast such progress myself. But, I suppose that's an advantage, in and of itself."
"What is your purpose for being here then?" Lia asks. She glances to her companions. Waving for them to get on with it. She doesn't know why anyone else is not already trying to figure out how this thing runs, as she can't keep this being busy all day long after all.
Kysdiane stays frozen where he is and looks back to the others. He is not the quietest person by a long shot and he's terrified that if he were to move it would alert this creature that there were others around and it might get angry. But when Lia motions him around, Kysdiane takes a deep breath and attempts to quietly make his way around the orb and into another room where he might be able to find out more about the machine (If there is only one room, Kysdiane skirts around the edges and tries to investigate anything he sees that might point to how to use this.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Avia quietly gives a little guidance to Kysdiane, then sees if there is any way she can tinker on the machine or mess with the circle to get it working. She does get the cue about being quiet even if she doesn't know what's going on.

Avia is incredibly stealthy. She is one with the shadows
"I was on my own errand... I heard strange sounds coming from this chamber as I was searchi-" The Nuckelavee is interrupted when Avia steps on a warped piece of metal, making a warbling clang. It turns its humanoid head to Kysdiane and Avia, regarding them more of a curiosity as Kysdiane makes his was out of the room, while it's horse-like head still has its attention on Lia. "I see you have new companions. Very wise to be wary of me. However, I don't believe could do anything on your side, even if I wanted to. I suspect the opposite is true, as well."
Kysdiane hears the creature speak as he looks around for a way to move the construct he is in. He soon starts hearing a soft chirping-like sound at regular intervals, coming from the front of the machine.
"Well, how can I be of aid to you then?" Lia asks the being. "Or can you aid us in any way right now?" She waves to the construct around her. "This thing is a bit beyond us, as I am sure you can imagine."

Kysdiane continues to make his way to the front of the machine, quietly if the creature hasn't noticed him, otherwise, he does so blatantly. Once he gets there, he starts searching for the origin of the beeping sound to perhaps find a way to pilot the machine.
(As Lia is actually inside the machine, what does she hear? I've stated twice now that she was going inside of it...)
(@Lia: Ah, thanks for reminding me)

"I had no hand in the endeavor whatsoever. It seems that a past Overseer had that forethought." the Nuckelavee replies to Lia.
"No, I'm technically the target for what it was making. One half of it, at least..."
