"Yes I do know some magic." Lia nods in answer to the question. She does not go further into it though. "How much further to this place you think this is coming from?" She asks those in the lead, clearly changing the subject.
Following the flow of magic, the travelers take the opportunity to get to know each other, while Gark and Valentia keep watch for unusual activity. However, only the sounds of crepuscular wildlife are heard. The flow of magic seems to get stronger as they make their way towards the source.
After nearly an hour of travel, as the blue sky surrenders to red, they reach what looks like an old lumberyard. Moss and vines cover the long-abandoned structures, their roofs in various states of collapse. The sawmill, partially crumbled into a large ditch. Perhaps a river once flowed through to the southeast? Two rows of twelve rotted beds are seen surrounded by a skeleton of building. Rusty axe heads and saw blades lay, neglected, on a pile of what used to be planks of wood.
The flow of magic directs them to a common sighting in many settlements. A stable. It is the only structure that has any walls still standing, albeit, only just. Large sections have been gouged by animal activity, lack of maintenance, weather or any combination. How it is still recognizable is a wonder in of itself.
A soft, magenta glow is seen emanating from within.
As soon as they come upon this surprisingly intact building, Oswin will take the time to ritual cast detect magic again and begin searching the exterior of the building for any signs of inhabitation or traps.

While their walk was just started, Valentia would probably have responded to the group's conversation, by telling what she was about as well. "I've been sent on a mission by Kelemvor. I'm not sure this mission is tied to the path I'm following, but I know that if I can get a bit more resources, I can get prepared for what I'll meet ahead."
As their walk continues, and the sky goes dark, Valentia would probably have lit up another torch, this time with a bit less hesitance since there was another human with her. She uses Thaumaturgy to make the light dimmer, as to not give their position as easily, but still be there to help guide their path forward.
Moving up to the building Lia tries to get an idea of what the glow is from. She casts guidance on herself and considers the magical nature of what she is seeing.
The party approaches the derelict stable, readying themselves for what they might find.
Valentia light her torch in order to better see, but not just for her benefit.
Renewing detect magic, Oswin searches the exterior but finds no traps or any evidence of recent habitation. However, inside of the stables, he able to see a magical circle within, brimming with conjuration magic.
Lia extends her magical senses and is able to determine that the light is shining upwards. Perhaps what's emitting it is on the ground?
Andivo summons his trident and keeps an eye out at the ruins of the sawmill. However with all of the magic and trees about it is difficult to discern what are shadows, tricks of the eye or something else.
As Gark keeps an eye on the surrounding area. As he does, he is able to spot something among the trees a short distance into the woods. A tall figure, cloaked in shadows. Upon a better look it looks as if this figure is astride a large beast akin to a horse in a similarly dark shade. Both of their eyes a shade of smoldering crimson.
After being notified of the figure's presence, Valentia wonders about it and uses Eyes of the Grave to ascertain about the nature of this, or anything else she might spot around their location.
(I'm not expecting anything, I'm just using it because I don't see myself using it later either.)
Lia is in the process of moving closer to the glow inside the stables, trying to get a look at whatever is on the ground that is causing the glow, when she hears about the figure in the forest. Worried about a trap, she is a bit more careful as she takes a look at whatever is glowing.
Lia and Oswin enter the stable to try and find the source of the glowing. Inside they see a circle with geometric patterns and characters from a language neither are familiar with. The circle is lazily rotating around it center. In its center is a large piece of broken material.
The figure has spotted more than just Gark, it knows that he is not alone. Gark alerts the rest to its presence
Andivo turns his attention to the creature and keeps at a distance, unsure of what its purpose in this abandoned settlement.
As far as Valentia can tell, it is not an undead creature. But, by its looks, it is undoubtedly otherworldly.
It slowly lifts an arm, which those outside realize reaches all the way down to the ground they also notice that the figure has no legs either, its torso ends at its mount. It points a bony, clawed finger at the stables and opens its mouth, revealing it is more like a toothy beak, and starts speaking in a harsh tongue.
It is a language that Valentia recognizes, but hoped would not hear in person:
In Infernal:
"The ritual... You reached it before me? It's nearly complete. It will swallow the forest for the lost empire when the new moon rises this night. You will be swallowed as well."

"Give me a moment." Lia says as she considers the circle and writing. She casts guidance on herself again before trying to decide if she can find a way to disrupt the thing. As she does so she bites her lower lip in concentration and runs a hand through her white hair, messing it up a bit.

"Nope, can't say I have any ideas here." Lia says as she comes up with a blank. "You got any suggestions?"
Valentia notices her party members confused and explains what she heard to them. "It's speaking Infernal. I assume none of you know about it. He says there's a ritual that's almost complete, and that if completed it'll swallow the entire forest and us with it." She sees where the party's heading, to find what looks like very much the ritual she heard and follows along with them.
Sensing an approaching fight, Valentia casts Bless targetting Gark, Lia and Andivus. The first two were the ones she knew for longer, and after seeing Andivus summoning a trident out of thin air, she felt there was some merit to helping him become stronger as well.
