Andivus recovers from his exploding spell, with only a slight ringing as its aftermath
As the creature's echoing roar subsides, Valentia and Andivus both are able to shake off the after effects. However, Gark's hears are stining with pain and he is bombarded with nightmarish visions (stunned until end his of turn).
In retaliation, Valentia bids Kelemvor to place his own special bane upon the monster (Vulnerable until next successful attack).
Creature torso's turn
Looking where it is in relation to the party, it throws its arms out toward Gark and Valentia. At first it doesn't seem as won't reach, but with some effort, its arms stretch with sickening sounds of bones and sinew cracking and popping.
Claw Attack: 12 Damage: 11 slashing damage on Gark
Claw Attack: 25 Damage: 7 slashing damage on Valentia
Gark takes a grievous blow from the creature's claw, making a large laceration on his chest.

Oswin will nod approvingly as Lia breaks the spell, then hurry back to the wall to see what's going on outside (N18), leaving his spear where he dropped it. Seeing his allies, new and old, in combat with a strange creature, he'll pull up his crossbow and take a shot at it.
Attack: 26 Damage: 12
(Edit, sorry, at the torso/legs part of the creature.)

(Holy crap, that timely crit!)
Wracked with pain, Gark shakes off the horrifying visages that haunted him (no longer stunned).
Lia is quick to chase after and secure the object that was powering the now-defunct magical circle, picking it up just outside the southern wall of the stables.
Andivus presses himself against the outer northeast wall of the stables and fires another arcane bolt at the monster and is met with great success. With the aid of two concurrent curses active on it (Hexblade's Curse and Path to the Grave), the force of the blast forces it to lurch to the side, but it maintains its footing (40 force damage).
Oswin picks himself up and moves into the northeast corer and fires his crossbow, following up Andivus' attack and hits it right in its side (6 piercing damage).
Creature mount's turn
The creature seems to start fading from sight. But with resolve, it it resumes its solid form, shouting in Infernal:
"NO! I can still do this! It NEEDS to be done!"
The mount turns and runs right into the center of the stables, threatening to trample Valentia, who is in its way

When it reaches its destination, both of its heads start looking around in confusion.

Valentia doesn't react in time to the mount's sprint and is met with quite a bit of pain coming from the fact of it walking over her. She notices the confusion and understands what he's saying, so she responds back in infernal.
"Your ritual is gone. And you should be too, so why don't you just leave?"
She raises her arm up, points it towards it, and uses her last spell slot to cast Guiding Bolt against the torso.
Attack:11Damage:12 Radiant (And the next attack against it has Advantage, if it doesn't die that is.)
She uses her movement to try and get away, or find a spot where she can get cover from its attacks.
"Huh? What?" As the creature fades into nothingness, Valentia stands confused by what it last said. She tries to explain and translate what she heard to the party."I guess there was a misunderstanding... If that creature is to be believed, it came here to stop this ritual, just the same as us... We were on the same side all along. I guess I didn't expect that to be the case." With that, she pauses and looks around. "I hope the path is clear to continue now, I honestly feel tired, so we should probably head back to town now."

Gark breathes a sigh of relief, "Whew, that thing was tough. The only thing I caught was him asking someone to 'wake him up', whatever that means. I think we will need to head back to the caravan because we need to see it through to get paid... but I need to attend to some things first."
He settles down next to the stable and starts to tend to his wounds.

"I am fine." Lia assures the group as she dusts off the dirt and stuff from her clothes. She pulls out the item she found, that was the center of the ritual before, and looks it over. "This is what was charging that ritual." She explains to the others as she examines it.
Arcana: 6
"I'll have to spend some time looking at this." She says as little is gleamed from the first look. "Probably a good idea to go back and get the caravan moving again." She confirms as the others speak of it.
Andivo will walk into the barn and gather up and pieces or remnants of the device used in the ritual. “We May have had the same objective, but I doubt we share motives with a creature like that. Not on the same side, devils....”
We should hold onto this just in case. I will be ready to escort back to the caravan when everyone is ready.
With a mix of confusion, relief, and suspicion, the group takes some time to recuperate and inspect the former ritual site.
The former focus that Lia picked up is an ivory dome around 2 feet in diameter, an eighth of an inch thick and with uneven edges. The outside surface is rough with overlapping ovoid structures. The inside is mostly smooth but some significant gouges mar its surface. Despite its bulk it is a lot lighter than she expected. Analyzing the magic, she finds that other than the residual magic from the ritual, it has a very weak natural charge.
Looking around the ritual site, Andivus doesn't see anything similar to what Lia picked up. But hes does see some things that seem out of place: namely some sand and a quill,
After resting up, they make their way back to the caravan. Gark leading the way, recalling the path they took to get to the old lumberyard.
By the time they make it back, night has truly set on the forest. As they near Through the trees they see some torchlight.
"Please tell me it's you lot... We heard a terrible sound echoing though the trees not too long ago!"
Oswin will whisper to the others as they get closer, "Perhaps we should keep that thing under cover for now. Don't know what it is or who might be looking for it." Oswin would have used his magical tinkering to make a small rock light up as they traveled in the dark and waved it when they're hailed, "Yeah, its us again, safe and well. Not sure exactly what that thing was, but it's dead now and hopefully we can get this caravan moving again."
"Probably a good idea." Lia agrees and keeps the thing out of sight in her pack. As soon as she has time though, and privacy to do so, she will study it to see if it has any magical properties or such.
(From the DMG...
Identifying a Magic Item
Some magic items are indistinguishable from their nonmagical counterparts, whereas other magic items display their magical nature conspicuously. Whatever a magic item’s appearance, handling the item is enough to give a character a sense that something is extraordinary about it. Discovering a magic item’s properties isn’t automatic, however.
The identify spell is the fastest way to reveal an item’s properties. Alternatively, a character can focus on one magic item during a short rest, while being in physical contact with the item. At the end of the rest, the character learns the item’s properties, as well as how to use them. Potions are an exception; a little taste is enough to tell the taster what the potion does.
Sometimes a magic item carries a clue to its properties. The command word to activate a ring might be etched in tiny letters inside it, or a feathered design might suggest that it’s a ring of feather falling.
Wearing or experimenting with an item can also offer hints about its properties. For example, if a character puts on a ring of jumping, you could say, “Your steps feel strangely springy.” Perhaps the character then jumps up and down to see what happens. You then say the character jumps unexpectedly high.)
