Lia comes down from the rooms to the tavern, the smell of coffee and bacon the air. Just out the window, she sees the morning light hitting the Lesser Crest with lines of what she presumes as miners making their way to work.
"You and your friends have been busy these past few days. Anything on your docket today?" Evonnia asks as she serves Lia.

After a couple a frustrating hours working with the pup, Gark decides to give him a break. About mid morning, he and the pup start walking to the area near where they were ambushed.
Once there Gark tries to determine if he can trace their tracks back toward where they came from and see if he can spot anything unusual about their activities.
Valentia decides to sleep in the inn again. Initially, she thought her mission was somewhere else, but that demon that appeared made her rethink all of that.
On the following morning, she spends some time praying for Kelemvor, preparing new spells, and a few stronger than her usual ones before she leaves downstairs with her amulet still as exposed around her neck as it was the first day she came into this tavern. She sits close to Lia just in time to catch her during the conversation.
Oswin wouldn't be down for breakfast, but would show up around mid-morning with his new Iron Defender trailing him. It has a rectangular body with four spider like legs, one at each corner, and two arms out of the front. It is designed in such a way that the legs can all straighten out, raising the body to just above waist level on Oswin, the flat surface providing a convenient portable workbench with the arms capable of reaching up onto its back to assist with projects or access items stored in bags carried by it. Approaching the bartender, "Morning, any chance there's still some breakfast left?" If any of the others are still there he'll move over to take a seat near them, "So, any plans for the day?"
After breakfast, unless something happens, Lia will head out into town to find someone selling a set of thieve's tools. She will use her criminal background to track down someone she knows of in the area who would be able to guide her to such a vendor.
Returning to the site of the ambush, Gark attempts to try and find any trace of where the bandits may have come from.
While he is having trouble discerning any distinct tracts, he does notice that some trees have markings every once in a while. The markings lead in a general west-southwest direction towards some marshlands.
"Plenty of time left for breakfast, friend. Tell me what you want and we'll whip it up for you."
Oswin sits down with Valentia soon after Lia steps out.
As Lia wanders the town, she hears a voice down one of the alleys of the side streets, "Never thought I see ya 'round these parts, Flower."
A female halfling with a pale complexion and raven hair walks out from behind a barrel, "Ta be honest, I wasn't even halfway sure you'd give leavin' Waterdeep a go."
Valentia sees the other fellow human of her recent group approach and sit down, he makes a question, to which she responds. "I don't have any urgent things to do today, no. I know what thing I'd like to do, but if you need help with something, I can leave that for later."
Oswin will nod to the bartender, “I’ll eat whatever you put in front of me, I learned a long time ago to eat what was provided and be happy with it.”
To Valentia, “I had a few things I was looking to purchase, but nothing too urgent, just a shield for me and a set of saddle bags to drape over my new toy, but I can pick those up whenever. What’d you have in mind for today, mind if I tag along?”
"Well... It's very particular to my religion, so I don't know that you'd find any enjoyment in it." Valentia starts explaining, she takes the necklace off to put it closer to Oswin, or deliver in his hand for him to see it while she explains if he accepts it. "Kelemvor is the deity I follow. He defends justice on the realm of the dead, and it's his belief we should bring peace to those that are still alive while making sure life retains its normal cycle. I haven't detected any sign of undead, so my hopes are to work towards his first desire. If I can find anyone who has suffered from a loss, be it friend or family, I'd be happy to bring their hearts peace through kind acts or soft words." Once she's done, she raises her hand again to ask for the necklace back.
The necklace itself is simple, but it has an amulet, the shape of the amulet is that of a balance, held up by a skeletal arm and hand that grips it tightly, holding it in a completely straight, balanced position.
Oswin will look at the amulet admiring the simplicity of the symbol and return it, "I don't have much experience with that and would probably be of more use dealing with the undead, but if you don't mind the company, I'll accompany you. We could even kill two birds with one stone, if you happen to know where the shops are, I could see about picking up the few things that I need and we can ask around about anyone who'd like a visit from you. Or is there a temple of yours in town that you would go to learn such things?
"I do know the shops well, every equipment I have was taken from the stores of this town, so I think that'd be a good idea. As for whether there's a temple to Kelemvor here..? Not that I'm aware, no. This seems like quite the small place, so it's not surprising if they are lacking in a few things." Valentia replies and seems more excited now at the prospect of a new person to go along with her, that change in excitement is only noticed in her voice that seems a bit chipper, but her face remains serious as stone.
"Alright, sounds like we have a plan then. Let me finish my breakfast here real quick and we can be off." Oswin will quickly wolf down whatever the chef serves and then rise and prepare to follow Valentia out, his Defender following along behind.

Gark notes the direction of the markings so he remembers should it prove useful later.
After checking out the area, he and the pup make their way back toward town, foraging along the way. They make camp again just on the outskirts.
Before turning in for the night, Gark tries again to do some pup training using Beast Bond - teaching him to hide until he hears a whistle.
