 Amidst the chaos, Penny swipes the map off of his desk. As she nudges the Dr. out the door, he turns to see her holding the map, “Ah, thank you, Miss. I need to ensure I don’t leave that out.” He’ll kindly take the map from Penny, he doesn’t seem untoward though.

Meanwhile, the museum goers are quite entertained by Roland’s story. Despite his... shall we say brashness, he is still quite the showman. Deshi is unfortunately stonewalled by his sheer will.

“Oh! Yes, um, I was just folding it up for you. Or rolling it uh...” Penny gives a helpless shrug to Ormond behind Walton’s back.

Deshi sighs heavily. "Ah. Disappointing." The tortle turns to Osskil, who is currently perched on their staff. "We may require more practice."

Osskil clacks its beak and softly chatters (wisely and importantly). 

Ormond nods towards Penny as way of acknowledgement. 

He runs up along Dr. Walton and states, "Doctor, time, for us, is of the essence. Our helpful friend here will keep an eye on the showman... What you and Deshthi need to do is start making copies of the map... as many copies as you can make... and please make sure that Deshthi understands how to read the map. Deshthi will in turn, teach us three."

Ormond gets close to Dr. Walton and says in a lower voice, with as much gravelly seriousness as he can muster, "Perhaps both you and your father have had a neutral, if not beneficial, relationship with the initial, but mark my words - they are after this map and they will find it and they will snuff out any attempts to distribute the information. So either you enact your plan to ensure that the world learns of these new pathways to the World Below, or we may have to get you out of this town - both for your safety and the safety of the information you want to share."

Walton sighs and pushes up his glasses, “Very well, I will take young Deshthi with me. I’m sure that it would be an exciting experience for him.” He turns, “And regarding your concerns, I share them. However, I have come too far to jeopardize this. I will take your advice into account.”

He’ll take Deshthi and leave.

A moment after the two of them have left (leaving space for Deshi to post), Penny will look at Ormond and say, “I’m going to follow them.”

She will then try to do that.

Perception: 16
Stealth: 17

"....and that is how I.. I mean my friend got my.. their hands on a magical coin, cooler than any other coin! Now scram! Show's over." He jumps up into the air, does a full turn and lands in a wide stance, flexing his biceps. "If anyone wants an autograph I only take my payment in gems or alcohol!" Roland finishes up his great story of weal, woe, awesomeness and booze.

 One child raises their hand, “But wait, why was it necessary to suplex the miners if they already said they didn’t want the coin?”

Another sticks their hand up, “Yeah! Overall, the story was really random. What did that White Bird guy have to do with anything?”

The other kids all start mumbling and nodding while the parents look at each other with concern.

 Meanwhile, Penny can indeed follow Deshi and the doctor. I’ll allow Deshi a moment to respond to the doctor.

"Isn't it obvious little rugrat? They looked at him funny!" He tussles the childs hair and grins. "And regarding the White Eagle.... they're the most despicable goodie two shoes person ever and everyone deserves to know how much he should be loathed and despised." He turns on one heel and looks at Ormond. 

"Where is the girl and the turtle?

Deshi's fatigue disappears immediately. "A chance to work with Printing Pigeons?? Deshi would indeed be thrilled!" The tortle bundles up their various scrolls and belongings and shuffles after the professor. "Deshi has always wondered how they survived the Cataclysm when so many other magiservice animals were lost to the sands. They do not appear to possess a prodigious skill of flight, so it stands to reason that either..."

The wizard's voice fades away down the hallway.

Penny Perception: 10 (w/ disadvantage because they're on a roll)

Penny will follow the pair nonchalantly, keeping an eye on them while blending with the crowd.

"...And then Deshi unstoppered the Decanter of Endless Water that Master so graciously offered ahead of my journey into the wider world. Deshi spoke the water's name and caused it to come bursting forth! Deshi also summoned a large fire on two occasions by uttering a piece of its wild and all-consuming name, though admittedly that was more difficult than I anticipated. So to answer your question, YES, Deshi knows a fair few names already and is eager to learn many more."

Dr. Walton, a man devoid of magic, nods along carefully as they walk down the street, “Uh, yes, most impressive, Deshi. I admire the passion you have for your field. It reminds me a great deal of your instructor.”

Penny, meanwhile, follows the pair.

Eventually, the two (three) of you arrive at a local rookery of sorts. Inside, there are several small telephone booth-sized boxes with small pigeons inside. These pigeons have a little black bolo tie and a small blindfold.

Penny stops a reasonable distance away and hides amid the crowd/bustle/stalls/whatever there is. Stealth: 18

 Penny shuffles into the crowd a bit. However, as she does, she collides shoulders with someone. As she glances, she sees a man in Militia garb. He wears the same usual blue uniform, except with the addition wide-brimmed hat and a different stripe pattern. He has a thick handlebar mustache that reaches his jawline. He is definitely taller than Penny. As he knocks shoulders with her, he looks down briefly, “Pardon, Miss.” He continues walking.

She nods, murmurs something apologetic, and tries to blend into the crowd. Did he have his name stitched on his uniform? (PP 16?)

Then she glances over towards the pigeon booths to see if a) she was noticed and/or b) they are still there.

No name unfortunately. You were not noticed, and they are still there.

Meanwhile, Walton and Deshi converse a bit more, “As you can see here, Deshthi, the Printing Pigeon are a unique breed of the Graphing Pigeon. They have both a photographic memory and a pattern obsession, which is why they wear these little masks. Observe,” He removes the mask from the pigeon who looks to Deshi. Its eyes are quite large and as it ‘blinks’ it makes a noise, “Coo-Lick!” It then begins quickly drawing a very realistic picture of Deshi’s portrait. 

Walton laughs, “Incredible, aren’t they?”

Roland shrugs as Ormond uses over 5 seconds to answer. "If you need me I'll be making.. or losing a couple of thal and have a drink or fourteen." He lifts his hand as he exits the door. To be as inconspicuous as possible he unfastens his cape and throws it over his head and around his neck like a makeshift hood with the navy blue inside of it facing outward. Though none of his accomplices are around to hear it he mutters a couple of obscenities at having to go "undercover". 

Roland starts making his way to the place with the fights and the fun.
