Tine just smiles at Ashlin as she lifts her lute and begins to strum some nice light somber chords, lightly for now to see if it is what she wants as she lightly looks at her. Her face was solemn as closed her eyes and began to sing a little, making it clear for Ashlin to stop if it wasn't what she wanted.
"I'd heard there was a secret chord. That David played and it please Pelor. But you don't really care for music, do you? Well, it goes like this. The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall, the major lift. The baffled king composing Hallelujah. Hallelujah."
She paused for a moment, her lips curling back into a smile "Was that good or were you thinking something else?"
For such a short time of prep work, you all personally think it turned out rather well. This festival was advertised to the town as being mostly council run, and it looks great! The wood working is nice, the decorations are vibrant, the local flowers were a nice touch, and the music and other forms of entertainment for the villagers; weather that be music, card tricks, or small games of archery made for a fun environment.
Of course before any of that, there was the religious ceremony. It wasn't Orlliean, it was Elvish, it wasn't even Kashtal tribal. It was a mixture that White Wolf had blended expertly from what he's heard on the voyage and around the town. No actual burials, burning, or nature dissolving happened that night, but the town's people seemed mostly mollified and you all heard from various snippets of conversation that the ceremony was very tasteful. The bodies were in the caskets that were prepared, someone in the town had hit every body with preservative spells and most of the families had agreed to hold individual services and ceremonies throughout the next few days instead of one burial tonight.
The festivities were fun! Even with the pressure of being 'hosts' the town's people were more then ready to unwind and get to know their saviors and new governmental representatives. You met old faces; with Shepard's combative daughter Sif challenging any one to try to out-drink her. Dainar in particular she challenges, if not to a drinking contest, at least to a arm wrestling competition. Again she proves her above average strength, but she's untested, hasn't faced the steel of any sort of combat or adventuring so you most likely would beat her, but she's a good sport about it. Her slightly younger sister Fulla being the one to easily see through Falros' card tricks. She didn't out him in front of the children, she let them have their fun and wonder, but in the time between performances she whispers in your ear exactly what you were doing with a small wink and a stolen copper in her own hands before she rejoined her sister on the other side of the celebration.
Kar's dragged Aeron to the archery range and demanded to have his new suspected half brother show off his archery skills to a audience of his school friends. He's made somewhat of a habit of trying to show you off, your not sure if that's a good or bad thing. The children, including Kars were all interested in Tarkkin, but only Kars himself and the three other children were brave enough to approach him. The first was the boy from the boat, Matthew you think his name was, but the other two were colonists who were here from before. A girl approaching teenager-ism; lanky, almost as tall and thin as some adults, with most of her face being hidden behind a curtain of hair, and a rather overweight boy of about 13 who seemed to view talking to the strange cloaked man as almost a challenge from the other kids.
Ms. Frizzle, who's first name you learned to be Val, stole one dance with Aeron but seemed to stick with a crowd of girl's for most of the night. Winni, the rather short girl you rescued from the fires, introduced herself as Maru and briefly asked you some questions about the construction of Guardian, and if you choose to indulge her, she actually seems to follow along for the most part of the nitty gritty engineering details, before she excuses herself and melts back into the crowd. You all see a few other familiar faces, the RockSeeker Brothers are entertaining the drinking group with stories of dwarvern ale and failed but hilarious business attempts. The Chef introduces himself simply as DJ, and offers Ashlin to cook for the Tavern she has planned. From the food that's set out, you all personally know the man's a miracle in the kitchen. You all can spot Wilfrenia talking to some other mother looking types, and she compliments White Wolf for his services and offers to show him some of her late-husbands surviving notes and religious texts. The acne ridden older teenager stands near the school children for the most part, if just because most of the adults shoot him suspicious glances whenever he approaches. It seems being apart of the old police force isn't making him too popular in public opinion.
Some of you even meet some new faces! Harvey is one of the middle aged men, stocky but in shape, like a short athlete past his prime, that was in-charge of construction and teasing Falros. He apologized briefly to the Mayor, claiming he just wanted to make sure he wouldn't be an ******* before joining the drinking table. Penny is a... eccentric human female young adult that was the one who brought bagpipes to the band. After getting frustrated that she couldn't play the town a song that would have probably blown out several peoples ear drums, she flited between groups, never really belonging to one. She was one of the only other citizens from last weeks shipment that brought along the previous adventurers, and never found her niche in town. She has short platinum blonde hair nearly pale enough to be white, and eyes slightly too big to be conventional, giving her a perpetually surprised look on her face. After a while, she too settles down with the kids and watches Tarkkin and Aeron showing off with their archery skills quietly.
(You are all free to roleplay anything that I gave you above. If not, give your second free time events, and then we can move onto results and the second council meeting!)
Tarkkin gives the curtained haired girl a friendly wave and makes happy (albeit shy) chirps/buzzes from behind his mask. He knew she didn't really come here on her own choice, but he was happy she did regardless. Reaching down, he pulled out a flower and offered it to the little girl before offering to let her shoot his bow. He calls out to her friends and any other children, including Matthew, "If anyone else wants, I can show you a few tricks." His glowing four eyes seemed to smile as he looked out at the small children, happy to be approached.
Toward the later half of the festivities, Falros will seek out Fulla and start out making friendly conversation about the town and herself, but mostly shamelessly flirting with her and insisting she come dance with him during one of the more upbeat songs, whispering in her ear, “Seems you earned that copper piece, but if you want to get into my pockets, you don’t have to steal, all you have to do is ask” giving her a wink as he says it.
Persuasion for flirting: 22
Second free time activity: Falros will have learned his lesson and step back from a direct role in reconstruction. If there are any foreigners, people from the other settlements etc, he will try to talk with them about ways to increase trade to our settlement, and/or with traders in town he will discuss ways to improve trade to help get the city on its feet and raise tax revenues without increasing taxes.

Michael would talk with Maru a while, explaining some of the concepts in making Guardian. he would even do some disassembly work right there, showing her how things go together.
Okay, let's get responses done for the free time events currently submitted!
Falros: You track down Fulla, daughter of Shepard and younger sister of the very very loud Sif. Compared to her Amazonian of a sister, she's downright petite. Perhaps at first she looked a little bland, a little boring, and when talking to people that don't interest her, like some of her sisters louder drinking friends, you see that plain look on her face, but when you seek her down you see a mischievous glint and a sly smile that makes you suddenly take stock of everything currently on your person. Talking with her is an exercise in caution, she has a voice like a cherub and a face matching, and you find your senses dulled. She's very expressive when she talks, lots of hand movements and between every sentence she's fiddling with a new thing in her hand, coins, apples, cards... hey wait, that one's from your personal deck!
She agrees to a dance and seems pretty well trained. She dances not provocatively, but in a wild, energetic manner that seems pretty fun to try but might make you look goofy to any watching. She doesn't care, weather that be that she doesn't notice know how she looks, or doesn't care is honestly up in the air. She laughs at your somewhat cheesy pickup line, and at that moment you feel a iron vice clamp on your shoulder and spin you around. It's her sister, Sif, and she gives you a sickeningly sweet smile, sort of how you would imagine a devil to look. Fulla laughs and bids you goodbye with a comment about making sure you still have pockets. Sif's dancing is jarring and somewhat violent, you're not sure if intentionally, and seems to be leading you steadily away from her laughing sister. You think you see Shepard staring at you with the same devilish smile but you're not sure with how much your world is spinning right now.
Your efforts for the rest of the week are... mixed. It seems like this town was very unpopular from your predecessor's rule. No foreigners in town, most of the people who were in the know about the previous economics of the town are dead, as the mayor kept a very close grip on the town's pocketbooks. You know you currently have a caravan of wagons and a few oxen and could probably support trade with one of the two locals town's but it seems like they both don't particularly care for this town, and you have no way to communicate other then sending people directly to the town's to ask. You know for a fact that the only see trade route you currently have is with the Orellian West Yliese Trading Company. Perhaps you could set up the resources and infrastructure for more trade in the future, but you suspect that too much currently would swamp the council with too much legal legislature and papers to sign every week. Perhaps building a proper marketplace for town would lead to research that could increase the amount of trade routes the town could support.
Micheal: Maru seems pretty interested in the Guardian, and after a few demonstrations politely excuses herself. She honestly seemed as robotic as your partner, but a good person... you think? You salvage more wood throughout the next few days, and even completely clear out some vacant lots that would have restricted future construction efforts.
Winni: It seems like there's something of a mystery afoot. Unless you would like to rule otherwise, let's assume Tarkkin would alert his fellow council members of feeling watched out in the open fields south of town. A few people in town that you've talked to have felt similar feelings of being watched, sometimes in the daytime, but particularly at night. Nothing dramatic happens over the days between the festival and the next council meeting, but it's very off-putting that so much people are commenting on the same shared feeling. Your snooping, and any patrols Dainar can sneak in between his working on houses doesn't revel anything yet.
I really got to go for a few hours, I'll make another post later finishing up for the people I diddn't get too!
Just for kicks, Falros will try using his Hypnotic Gaze on Sif while they're dancing (DC 13 wis save or she becomes visibly dazed and speed 0 til the end of my next turn) if it succeeds, he'll step away from her quickly, trying to break line of sight to Shepard and cast disguise self to look like someone else, move away towards Sif and try and pick her pocket to get his card back and leave a note saying, "I can play too" in its place.
23
(If the Hypnotic Gaze doesn't work, he'll still try to get away and do the other part at some point during the night.)
Not only does the gaze not work, her grip on you tightens to the point of being borderline painful. Her grip is iron and she spins you around to an area of low human concentration. She actually has a few inches on you, and leans down to whisper in your ear- "Try to do any magic on me or my sister ever again, and the town will need to elect another mayor." The song stops almost immediately after and she waves you goodbye with a small "Toodles~" she returns to her sister. However, she can't keep watch on her all night, and at some point in the night, you have the opportunity to slip away and sneak the note in successfully. You pat yourself on the back, and return to your abode when the festival is over, eager to start your next few days trying to square away the town's economic information. However, when you next check you pockets, you have a small note in your front pant pocket that reads "Flirt with my daughters all you want, but try something like that again and they'll be singing songs about what will happen to you" in your pants.
Dainar: Although you feel somewhat uneasy leaving the town to it's own lawless whim, you feel somewhat comforted that every adult is currently occupied and counted for, for the next few days at least. You work wonders transporting large loads of wood and other construction materials that endears you to those in the construction teams, and if sometimes you traveled a scenic route to patrol... I mean get a good idea of the various parts of the town, nobody commented. Although you didn't personally feel the effects of being watched while working, you are aware that some townspeople do feel that way.
Aeron: Although Aeron does have his moments of happiness, like at the festival and during your speech; don't mistake that for getting over his mother's death quickly. When the boy thinks no one is around to watch, you may have observed or heard him sobbing throughout the week. It seems as if though he just doesn't want others to notice his grief, and after witnessing these episodes for the first time, you realize that sometimes; although not all the time, his smiles in public may be a little wooden. For being so young, the boy has considerable acting skills and a rather adult way of not trying to let others know his pain.
Your fishing attempts were slow to say the least. The town's river was freshwater and thankfully unpolluted at this point. The estuary, or small bay-like area where the river meets the open ocean, seems to be home to a lot of different sea life, ranging from fish to shell fish, and some skittish birds that flee whenever you approach them. The ocean itself is massive, going from horizon line to horizon line in jagged lines. It's not all beach, in fact a lot of the area around the town doesn't have much beach, and what there is is incredibly rocky. Guess you won't have a resort town anytime soon.
You spend some time fishing all three, and get a pretty good variety of food. The only really important event happened the day before the next council meeting. You were fishing at the docks by yourself, it seemed everyone in town was busy hunting, building, or gathering wood. Fishing was more of an afternoon luxury for the town's people after they finished their mandated work. It was rather slow in terms of actual fish before you felt a big tug on the line. Way to big to be a normal fish, as it almost jerked you into the water. Before you could attempt to stand up or really do anything, you felt something grab hold of both you legs and you got pulled into the water.
When you opened your eyes, everything was murky, but you defiantly saw three... humanoid things. They had what you thought was skin-tones that were green, blue, and purple, and there legs had something weird about them that was hard to see in the blurriness of the water. They opened their mouths and said... something you couldn't understand, it wasn't in any language you knew before you felt one of them grab you by the mid-line. Just as fast as you were pulled in, you were thrown back onto the shore, soaking wet but otherwise untouched.
Please submit free time events if you have not, we will move onto the next Council Meeting once everyone has got something in!
People I still need the second free time events from: Tarkkin, Ashlin, Tine, Whitewolf. Ill give about another couple of hours until we move to the council meeting.
Oops Tarkkin, I think I missed a blurb about your response to the festival, Ill cover that now:
Tarkkin: The girl stares at the flower you presented to her as a gift. There was a few seconds of awkward staring between the two of you, and just when you were about to retract your outstretched hand, she took the flower, and tucked in behind her ear. The children react favorably to you suggesting a few tricks, and they form a semi circle around you and the small target you and the other council members had set up earlier, eagerly awaiting.
Areon: The shoreline is surprisingly deep all around the shoreline of the town, thankfully allowing ships to port without too long of docks, but again making pleasant beaches a faraway dream, and perhaps being a concern for unattended young children. This ties into your predicament by having the figures quickly retreat down into the murky depths without you being able to track where exactly they went, or have that good of a grasp of what they were. They were defiantly human sized and shaped, and you think that they had some sort of tail but you weren't too sure of that. Although you couldn't catch any of the meaning of the words, you caught that the three beings had a somewhat curious disposition regarding you, and when they threw back onto shore is when one of the three, the biggest you think, commanded the other two in what you think was a stern voice.
(( Sorry for the missed day, work has been a pain this week ))
Emboldened by his success at the ceremony, the White Wolf will take to talking to people once more, trying to figure out the religious traditions observed by the locals and the gods they worship, perhaps even adding banter of Ilmater when appropriate.

Tine will just pending her week thinking about what challenges could lay ahead with reaching out to other villages for help. She will spend her time during the day conversing with the locals and trying to learn what she can to further her understanding of the mines, earth elementals and the Lavender's Gate. During the nights she will try to sit down to a meal with paper trying to think of stories, or any knowledge, that might help to build a defense that would benefit the town to present at the next meeting.
*After rolls*
Tine spends her day trying to gain some knowledge, but feels she is just learning the same things she already knew. As the night goes on though she spends it penning the next great design. Tine smiles feeling that her drawing will definitely win over the audience of the council as she folds it up and puts it into her pocket.

DC Check on Gaze: 21
Religion: 14
( ouch )

Ashlin had a great time performing with Tine and went to sleep with a satisfied smile. Earlier she spoke at length with DJ about cooking, and a little about brewing, glad to hear his thoughts and opinions. In the following days Ashlin split her time between meeting and getting to know the townsfolk and helping with the construction of homes and buildings.

Ashlin did well enough with talking, but her enthusiasm couldn't save her from taking a spectacular pratfall, falling off the roof of one of the building and landing in the mud. Perhaps next time I should help with the food instead. She thought
Seeing that the children enjoyed his offer, he showed them a few trick shots and multi shot tricks. At one point, he also showed them how they could even make their own bow if they wanted to. Explaining that his own bow was made from a branch he slept on once.

The morning after, Tarkkin decides he should do his duty as the Military Leader and picks out a spot just to the West of town, where he starts clearing up the landscape, making it into a very minimal training ground. (no construction is happening, he's simply ripping up weeds/grass, moving stones and patting down dirt.) If anyone comes by to see what he's up to, he'd wave at them, happy as could be. He liked being helpful.
