Albanus nods to the bard, “Many thanks, let’s hope it helps.” Stealing himself against the terror that comes unbidden into his mind, fearful of what may or may not happen, Albanus closes his eyes and exhales. He begins to feel Manfred’s song soothe its way into his body. He walks up to the bust. Looking at each of his companions, winking at Aura and giving a smile to Winter, he steps closer. He looks at the bust through hate-filled, jet black eyes. The voice in his head offering a steady rumble, a calming vibration that, for once, he welcomes. “We’re coming for you, fiend.” Albanus sneers and leans in close, whispering - inaudible to the rest - in the same jagged guttural language the riddle was written in. He kisses the bust of the succubus.
Ashtear will pull out the Journal-and begin to look through it concsidering the riddle. [b]"Keep an eye out for me. I'm going to look through the journal.... They really wanted it right? Maybe there is a clue here for this too... also another question, someone wanna check around to see if it looks there has been a lot of foot traffic in here?"
Investigation on the book = 15
(You look at the journal for a quick minute, but dont see anything mentioned about a door or anything else that may partains to this riddle.)
Aura was busy just quietly going over the riddle in her head, a bit unaware of her surrounding, she still wasn't convinced that kissing the statue was the way to go. She eventually gives up just in time to hear Ashtear asking for someone to look for tracks, and she decides to focus on that.
(There appears to be some foot traffic, though it it looks like just the same few, as well as your companions foot prints. Doesn't appear that people have used it recently however.)
As Albanus kisses the statue, the door begins to make a mechanical noise, and then opens up. You all can continue forward. (Albanus, you dont feel any negative effects or feel any different than you did before.)
Ashtear thinks its all weird and crazy.. but not having foundanything helpful in the book.. Steps back and interspaces herself between the statue and Winter/Aura combination. Pulling out a small sphere and tossing it near the statue, creating a small haze, to help buffer whoever kisses the statue.
(that can be Guidance or Sanctuary. WHoever is kissing it-you decide which you'd like. They both have different applications-but I don't actually know if either can help anyway)
Ashtear will follow up near the rear. Placing herself in the back, due to her higher durability, and to hold a torch in the back-as Survivor holds one in the front.
Albanus stands still for a moment until it’s clear that no traps were set off and that he is still alive and himself. “Hmm,” he says to himself. Shrugging, he will try to stay just behind Survivor and Dain as they enter the room.
After casting his spell, Manfred's magical lanterns disappear, so he will light a torch now and fall to the back of the group after sheathing his rapier so he could still hold his flute.
Moving forward, the tunnel continues for a few hundred or so feet. Thanks to the torches youre all able to see quite well.
Dains familiar comes across a small humanoid, and upon further inspection sees that it is a gnome, and he appears to be chained to the wall, just outside of a small wooden door. He looks rather dirty and unkempt, and like he has been here for a day or two at least.
The door looks as though it has been built into a large rock, and now thinking about it, it has sort of felt like youve been going down a little more than straight while in this tunnel, and you realize youre already hitting hard rock underground. Based on Toms brothers description though, you feel like this is probably the door to the keep.
Albanus approaches the poor wretch and kneels down, offering his waterskin and a ration. "Hello brother. Take these. We have a few questions for you and if you satisfy them you will be free. But first - and time is of the essence - how came you to be here?" Albanus will help any who want to ask additional questions, if necessary.
The gnome looks to be frightened at first, before a look of relief washes across his face and he eagerly takes a sip of water before responding. I am a member of the Engineers guild, my name is Desmond. You see these creatures forced me to build them a device. A machine if you will, that can turn something from a liquid state to a gaseous state. Really all quite simple really. Now that it's completed they said they are going to decide what to do with me. I'd rather not stick around to see what that decision is if you dont mind.
Albanus prods the gnome further, "We are looking for the device you made? Where is it? We are also looking for our guild companion Johan...have you seen him? What of the baroness? We suspect she is involved in this. Make haste, gnome!" Albanus finishes, tension clear in his voice.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ashtear filters in, and tries to keep an eye on the door, but also investigates the room in general as a whole, as her cohorts question the poor fellow. "Keep an eye out, he could be trap bait."
(However, If that fails to unlock the manacles then Ashtear will abandon searching to help that).

The manacles fall in a heap at the gnomes feet as he rights himself. Not sure how you would destroy it short of dropping it in the ocean. But you could bust the pipes or the vials, that'd work alot better for you. The gnome then looks to the door to the keep and nods.
Its in there. Same as your friend. I dont know about this baroness, but i do know they keep mind controling people here in the keep to believe that thing is a baroness. Ive stayed pretty observent while I've been kept held up here.

Survivor will take the lead, heading forward with a torch in hand.
Dain will walk along with the giant-kin.
Ashtear will follow up near the rear. Placing herself in the back, due to her higher durability, and to hold a torch in the back-as Survivor holds one in the front.
Aura tries to stay as in the middle as possible, using the protection the group offers from both sides to hide Winter still in her arms.

While Albanus is tending to the gnome, Manfred will inspect the door to the keep to see if it is locked or trapped.

Survivor will let the others pass to examine the door, staying at the rear to ensure no one follows.
