The gnome nods. Aye. Not too sure what it is, but theres some sort of illusion magic on it. I never seen a lady that can corrode holes through solid metal just by standing on it.
My best advice would be to get your friend away from that thing and the machine as quick as you can. I would also suggest not letting those things into your head, and best way to do that would be to disable the machine I built. Now, not that I havent appreciated everything youve done, but id really not be here when you open that door, so if you dont mind ill just be getting away from this madness now.
With that he moves as stealthily as he can back up the tunnel.
(The door isnt locked, and doesnt appear to be trapped either. You all are free to open it and go through whenever youd like.)
Albanus shrugs. "Well, Desmond, if you have family that weren't evacuated to the keep, I'd suggest going to them now and fleeing Riverton. The whole town is up there, waiting like eggs in the pan. Waiting for your machine to light the fire..." Albanus lets the implication for the gnome and his family linger in silence as he moves towards the door. He feels a little guilty for playing on the emotions, however his instinct is that they'll need all the help they can get.

Prior to the former captive leaving, Ashtear will hand him a pill, "Take it quick, and good speed. There might be someone at the door.. We're pretty sure he's fine, but don't dalley I'd suggest." [Given Guidance for his Stealthy attempt if he's doing so. Regardless if he hasn't taken it by the time we open the door, he doesn't get it due to self Application]
Upon us reading for inflitration, Ashtear will skulk off to the side, keeping a shield arm pressed against her bag.
14 + 1Stealth. Not really gonna be much needed. but, might as well kind of duck along the side when we open the door.
(Will edit shortly, just wanted to put map up so everyone could see.)
As you all enter the dark room, the first thing you notice is the sound of people in distress, too numerous to count, and the slight humming and clicking of clockwork mechanics turning. The sight of 12 cells all stuffed to the absolute brim with the innocent civilians of Riverton on the first floor and 12 more above those on a second story level. Two rope ladders lead to the second level of the room, located midway through the room. The slight flapping of wings lets you know one of the succubi is already in the air above, and the sight of a noble looking woman in the center of the room, with the one known as Janice standing next to her. Just in front of them and ahead of you is the machine. Large and square, with many whirring and rotating parts. What you do notice though is the five vials of pink liquid attached to the machine, with several sets of piping going to the cells from the machine.
One pipe in particular leads to one person in chains and held against the wall, the long metal piping leading right to a strange mask none of you have seen before, afixed to the man's face. Taking just a mere second to look though, and you see the guild emblem of the Giant Slayers on his tattered shirt and alas you believe this to be the one youve been searching for and speaking with. It appears Johan has been found finally.
The woman standing next to Janice looks not terribly surprised that you are here however, and as she speaks, something very peculiar happens. You don't actually hear any sound, but the ground vibrates with such an intensity that your teeth chatter and rattle inside your skull, and you actually "hear" the "baroness" speak.
They arrived sooner than expected. Activate the machine, they too will experience the joys of serving me for their entire lives.
But of course, and after they die, we get theirs souls. Would you like to see the process? Janice asks before taking a shallow breath and seemingly regurgates pure blackness. As the absence of light gathers on the floor, it suddenly stands upright, and the outline of the same creatures you fought in the barn on the millers farm stands in front of you again.
What do you think of your brother now, little one? Quite the improvment from that boring skin and bones and flesh wouldnt you agree? Perhaps I'll do the same with your father once I'm done with all these other delicious souls just waiting for me to devour them hmm?
(You guys can roll for initiative, but if anyone wants to rp this out a little go ahead, otherwise im gonna assume we're about to enter combat.)

Albanus changes his eyes to mimic the color of Janice’s and amplify her voice to be heard over the din of the frightened citizens. He will move in staying toward the back left near the cell, with a clear sight of Janice, baroness, and Johan. He gazes at Janice with malice, “How far you have come, beautiful, I didn’t know you for one to need a master.” The last word oozes out of his mouth in Infernal with palpable disgust. “Especially one such as this filthy blob. What can these people be to you?” Albanus laughs. “I thought this beneath your kind...or are you as smart as I think you are...This Baroness made a mistake letting the fox into the henhouse. Or are you not planning on killing your way free, my love?”
Janice snears at you as if she wished looks could kill. She looks to the "Baroness" and then back to you before replying.
I guess the spell is good as useless now. Seems youve figured that much out, at least, good for you. She says, her words dripping with sarcasm.
And I wont have to do anything, this handy little thing the gnome was so gracious to buikd for me will do all the hard work. After that, we just have to pick which ones to prey on first. And she is not my master, we are merely comrades. And comrades help each other. The troll did its jobs, gathered all of the stupid little souls together for us. The only loose end is you lot from this guild, and of course the little one, and now, you all can die together.
Winter seems to be in a mild state of shock, both in what she just saw, and wondering if the shadow slowly forming itself into a human shape was in fact, once her brother.
(I doubt it, but I’ll ask, any chance for Survivor to use this momentary distraction to draw and throw a javelin as a surprise action in addition to his turn?”

(Since I was trying to hide prior to opening the door. and they haven't addressed Ashtear directly yet, Is there enough darkness (that is NOT alive) and such to try to sneak in twoards the machine? Or is it too full of light, prisoners screaming and former family turned shadows and monsters?)
(Otherwise. I will drop one more Sanctuary on Winter before we start the fight/if survivor throws that/talks break down etc. Prior to combat)
(With your stealth roll, and the fact Albanus is taking some of the attention, id say yea you could manage to slip in unnoticed yet.)
((Also, reason I asked if anyone wanted a bit of a dialogue was to get that done before combat started. So in this one instance I gotta say no ismenow, but under other circumstances I would def let you. Apologies.))

Manfred turns towards the gnome, and arches his brow. "Wait... what thing is the baroness? Are there other creatures in there other than the succubi?"
“Good question...my guess is whoever brought these succubi here is masquerading as the baroness. We need to find Johan. How is the door coming along?”
Turning back to the gnome, Albanus thanks him and asks for any pointers or tips that he’s discovered, being the astute observer that he is.

"Hope none of you were wanting to be resting before this." Dain says to the others with a grin, then nods to the door. "Ready when you all are..."

[Yay crit. Although completely unrequired haha]
Manfred will play his flute intensely while watching Survivor playing a rousing ballad, and he'll give the big man some inspiration for the fight.
(He has a d8 for any ability check, saving throw or attack roll).
Seeing everyone appears to be ready, dain moves to the door and opens it, prepared to lead the way into the next room.
