Manfred will drink his porter silently, sitting with Aura for a few minutes longer, having had his fill of Tom and John for the moment. He stands up and prepares to head up to his room, but he stops behind Aura for a moment and says quietly "Thank you for our conversation this afternoon. It helped clear my head immensely. I am in your debt." He bows his head to Aura and will retreat to his room, playing that same mournful Elvish tune he played the night before, when the group first arrived in Riverton, then he will sleep.
With that the majority of you head off to sleep. Johan is successful in getting his belongings back from the keep and heads off to his own room for the night, and with that the day is finally over. (Go ahead with a long rest everyone- except..)
Although mostly everyone gets a full nights rest, Ashtear spends a few hours experimenting and attempting to synthesize some more of the potion she had found. (As a result of thise rolls, you can make at least 2 more I would say.) And finds quite a bit of success, before you start packing your things back up and getting yourself some shut eye as well.
Waking up feeling pretty fair about her night's work. Ashtear comes down to eat. Though she isn't wearing the breastplate she wore before, instead wearing plain clothing-a red jacket, long pants and leggings, with a thin material seen just under it. Looking rather relaxed and satisfed with her nights work. Spending long hours on alchemy helping her relax and recenter herself after the tumitulous affairs of the last two days. Tired, but cheerful, though some of her work vague to her memory but her new tools, equipment and items shows her the results of her work.
"Ahh, Good morning *insert the current brother's name*. How's it going? Is there any breakfast around? It's going to be a long day."
Aura left to bed just soon after seeing Manfred leave, and she had to stay in the same room as Ashtear and her various experiments amidst the night. Regardless of the amount of sound her roommate made, it didn't seem to bother Aura from sleeping whatsoever, she may have used her training to stay focused enough to be able to sleep despite the noise, or alternatively, she may have been bothered, but she lacked the confidence to complain about it. Both seemed likely.
The next morning, she'd leave downstairs and wait for others to come around, before ordering anything for herself at the bar.
Albanus comes down to eat breakfast as well, taking time to fill up the waterskin. She takes out the magic item that allows invisible things to be seen and flips it over in her hands. She doesn't use its powers, she's just studying it a bit. "So, it's back to Summar's Past today? I feel like something is incomplete, what with the fiend still on the loose. But the job is complete, I suppose." She'll order a summer wine to go along with breakfast, her thoughts drifting to her new form. Surprisingly enough, the dragon's voice in her head is less insistent and arrogant today.
Survivor will wake early heading our of town to do some weapons practice and exercise before coming back to join the others for breakfast, “Morning. Any word of our escapee?”
Manfred will come down fashionably late, as usual, seemingly his airy self once more. "Hullo, all! Gorgeous day, is it not? It is filled with possibilities, and prizes to be had. Anyone have any business before we leave Riverton to return to Summar Past? I wouldn't mind popping by that fatuous idiot magistrate's office one more time to put the fear of the Gods back into him, but that's just me. Are there any eggs on?" He'll ask whoever's tending the bar.
Johan joins you all after a short while, and its almost hard to tell hes the same man you met yesterday. His face now cleanly shaven, his tunic looks like it was just pressed, and he himself seems to be in much higher spirits.
Agreed! Not to be insistant but I'd prefer leaving as soon as we can, but yes, lets enjoy some breakfast first. Im sorry, im still getting used to you all. Do most of you hail from Ethrahal?
He asks as John approachs the table, taking a few quick orders and slapping the ticket on the bar for Tom to start. Just a few moments later he returns with a few cups of coffee and hands them out. Dont you lot be worrying about paying. Figure a breakfast is quite the least we could do for you you after everything you all have done. For myself, im gonna look into volunteering for the watch again. Like, um, oh my was I drunk when we first met because I swear i thought.. He trails off staring at Albanus with a confused look on his face.
Albanus smirks at John, “How kind. Thank you. Yes, you must stay away from the alcohol. It can really mess you up. Maybe instead of the watch you could keep tabs on the magistrate.”
Aura seems a bit conflicted after hearing Manfred and Johan speak. "I don't know... I agree with Al, it feels as if the job isn't really done because of that other succubus on the loose... Couldn't she come back to create the exact same problems all over again? I don't really care about talking to the magistrate, but we can do that, sure..."
"According to the manuscript they were summoned here by someone else." Dain reminds the group. "I would guess they were forced to do so, and I very much doubt if the one who got away has any desire to come back here."
Manfred will drink his coffee and listen to the discussion. "The question then becomes, who exactly summoned them? They seemed particularly drawn to the girl's family. Perhaps the brother? But if I were a betting man, which parenthetically, I am, I would put my money on that fat magistrate."
He takes a bite of breakfast and considers it carefully. "To be quite honest with you, I wouldn't mind taking another poke at that creature for crawling inside my skull like that, but I agree with Dain -- she's long gone by now."
Survivor will listen to the discussion of the family with a frown on his face, "I though they were interested in the family because they wanted that book from the mausoleum? The girl's family was related to the man who wrote it, so they would want their help getting it. As for who summoned them, perhaps the baroness summoned them itself to help it take over the town? I doubt the magistrate is competent enough to summon those things, probably just a lazy slob who got ensnared by their scheme without realizing it. And that one who ran likely has no reason to stay here without the support of her sisters, the baroness, and no machine to control people with. Sooner or later she'd be discovered, especially since the locals are now aware of her presence, and then a call would be put out to adventurers or the guard to find and kill her. Its in her best interest to leave for now."
"Hmm. All valid points, We could give some alert or update to the Guild leader via our useful little tool... But speaking of the left over. I spent the night working on that dose we retrieved? I think I made something useful, I think it'll make you resistent from now on to that type. So, if we're going after more, I think some of us should take them . Maybe Survivor? Frankly I feel like youre axe could be scary, and useful.. So I think it would be good for you and one more to take the dose I thinnk."
Setting down two vials of substance similair to the liquid we've seen before. In addition, Ashtear pulls out her tools, and a lantern. "I also spent the night prepping some stuff. This lantern-I was inspired by that Jewel youu've got Albanus. I THINK.. *whispers'I hope'* it'll replicate the ability to an extent within its light. But.. I don't have much oil right now, so that would be something to buy if we're going hunting. Lastly. Survivor, can I see your axe for a bit? I think I can add some spice to it for now."
(OOC: I made an infusion for Lantern of Revealing. I had meant for Ashtear to borrow the gem overnight to work on that idea but I forgot to rp that. whups. Secondly. If Survivor wants it. I can Radiant Weapon (I'll post in chat) his weapon for now. If he does not, then I'll equip a Spell Ring. Because Ashtear is carrying too much for me to break down the Elsewherebag right now)
Manfred will raise a quizzical eyebrow at Survivor and smirk. "Well! Look at this one. Never let it be said that all Goliaths are thick as pig shite and are unable to think their way out of a burlap sack. We've found the exception."
Finishing his coffee, he looks to the others. "I think our big friend has made a convincing case. Besides, I am QUITE eager to get into the Giant Slayers' Guild treasure vaults. Shall we?"
Albanus nods at Survivor. “Well said. After something like this, the town will likely shun outsiders for a while. Besides the old drop the holy water on the face trick should work if they suspect anyone.” Albanus shoves the rest of some bacon into his mouth, takes a swig of summer wine, and belches. “Oops,” he says putting a fist to his mouth. He looks around at some slack jawed customers reacting to his behavior, then down at his body. “Ohh, right. Pardon me,” and he’ll give an awkward curtsy and walk outside.
"I'd never seen someone put an actual fist into their mouth before.... huh.... Anyway, whatever our plan is. I'd still say prevention is the best choice. Drink up if you want Survivor, or anyone else" Ashtear states, leaving the vial for them, taking the other with her, following Albanus outside after finishing her breakfast. "Soo.... Did you want to go touch random stuff in the lair and see if you change back? Or you good? I don't know anything about curses." if so, Ashtear is willing to go with Albanus--however on the way she will stop and buy some Oil for the time being, for her new Lantern-vial-shake-and-glow toy.
(Survivor is good to skip to morning when everyone is ready)
