Eyeing the staircase suspiciously, Xamodas considers the beggar's words again. Simple. Taxing. Deceptively dangerous. I suppose a stairwell that goes up farther than one can see would meet such criteria. I should not overthink it.
He checks his pouch for his arcane crystal and recites the incantation for featherfall in his head before beginning to climb the stairs. With his quarterstaff he taps the steps ahead as he goes, checking for illusions or structural weakness.
Dordis replies back to Zacharias in a formal-tone, "Ah, well I have not heard of such a deity before. I suppose the libraries I grew to stay in did not keep any articles confirming of your faith's existence. Not to say I do not believe in your cause for the crying god. although you must tell me more of your god and also this 'Rosebush' —" Dordis takes a breath as Al's pony comes to a stop, and waits for Al to complete his sentence before replying, "I— What would you mean by that?" Dordis is taken aback by Al's question. Why would someone ask of what I think my soul looks like? He paces a few steps while clearing his mind before saying, "I believe my soul looks the same as my pendant's appearance," He clutches the strange celestial blue star pendant with dulled silver finishing touches, "this pendant is important to me in a practical form, and in sentimental value" At the end of his sentence, Dordis cautiously scans their surroundings.

Orina and Jogs | Outer Cordivae / Forest near Warren
Orina grins as she hears the bandits scampering off; when the forest falls silent, she turns to Jogs and GrrGrrFrr and beams happily. "That was so cool!" she gushes to Jogs. "You looked like a real hero out of the legends when you swung your hammer around like that!" Part of her excitement bleeds away as she studies the forest more carefully. "But that was a close call... we nearly brought down exactly what we were trying to prevent on our friends. Why are so many adventurers so greedy?"
Turning around, she begins to pick her way more carefully through the forest, keeping an ear out for any other unwanted adventurer tow-alongs as she guides the group back to Beau's rabbit warren.
(OOC: it's okay, you're not holding up our game and I've been enjoying Orina and Jog's teamwork so far! :-) )
Leshanna considers the offer for a long while. The amount has her more concerned than excited as her logical mind goes over the facts she knows so far. Eventually she nods her head in agreement. "I will take 500 gold up front and the other five hundred thousand when the job is completed." She says. "The information on this artifact can either be given now or after the job is done, your choice." with the contract accepted she goes into specifics. "What can you tell me about this Duke? Where can he be found? What sort of protection does he have?"

At Connor's question, Zacharias looks surprised. He watches Dordis intently, curious as to what his answer will be. After the man's response, the corners of the paladin's mouth turn down, but not in a frown, but a look of thought. He looks back at Connor to hear the halfling's response.
Although Nae's communication with her butterfly was certainly strange, Noldeme's focus was still mostly on Hoover, the familiar face to her. "Oh, well, thanks.
