Annoyed to fight again flying creature, Grimnir run towards Valrish and, using an old technique from his monastery (bonus action: 1 Ki point, step of the wind), bounce on the dragonborn shoulders and from there toward the Spectator (1). "I told you, I'll poke your eye !!! Get that!". Grimnir, flying toward the creature, unleashes an attack with his quarterstaff and his second hand. Staff: 9 damage 3 Hand: 21 damage 4

While most of the party focuses on the Spectators, Belwar conjures up a flaming sphere, ramming it into the Derro by the obelisk. She yelps, dropping her notebook, as the sudden heat surprises her, then tries to avoid the fiery ball as it rushes forward. (Dex Save DC 14: 7 Fire Damage: 5)
She manages to avoid the brunt of the damage as it rushes by her and stop, but her eyes go wide as she sees the flames licking at the eges of her dropped book. She uses her action to try and rush by the sphere and recover the book. (Dex Save DC 14: 6 Fire Damage: 12)
Managing to grasp it and run to refuge on the other side of the obelisk, the derro turns her eyes to Belwar. "You really shouldn't have done that," she screams.
"Go, Zippy!"Oorr shouts the command in Aarakocra, Zippy promptly jumps over the floating eye (S2) to bite it. Attack: 26 Damage: 16
Like a magic missile, Zippy launches himself directly into the side of the spectator, and sinking his teeth into it for massive damage. Poison seeps into the aberration as it tries to recover from the assault to retaliate. Its eye-stalks circle around to blast the steeder as it falls back to the ground. (S2) Paralyzing Ray on Zippy: DC 13 CON Save or be paralyzed (S2) Wounding Ray on Zippy: DC 13 CON Save or take 22 necrotic damage (half damage on a successful save)

Though they continue to cackle telepathically, the movement and excitement of the spectators seems to have waned. They are now fighting to survive, rather than just for fun.

The joy of seeing his skilful friend seemingly flying and striking a terrible bite at the floating creature lasts just a moment. The weird magic of the creature strikes Zippy fully, knocking him down. The spider lands on the ground with the belly up, the eight legs coiled together.
Oorr feels the anger boiling up in each feather, the grip on the blades so tight to nearly cause pain. Pain, soon it will be the only constant in the floating creatures' short lives.
"They're spectators, minor beholderkin created by a rather nasty ritual to serve as guards. They're supposed to only guard locations or treasures, so either something very strange is going on--specifically relating to Drizzt and Bruenor over there, not just in general--or they're guarding this room or that obelisk. Likewise, they're supposed to only obey their summoner, so Little Miss Lunatic is probably a mage of some sort." I send my flaming sphere circling around the obelisk to strike at the derro again, then frostbite her if she still lives. "As Jimjar was kind enough to demonstrate, spectators have the ability to reflect almost any spells cast on them."

DC 14 Con Save: 12 Cold Damage: 4 (OOG Should only have a +1 to the die roll, so this is an 18, but still a save) She wipes off the few ice crystals that managed to appear on her face, and glares directly at Belwar.
While focussing on one spectator, Grimnir didn't see the other one aiming at him. A green ray blast him in the back. WIS save: 15

For a second, Grimnir doesn't know where he is. "A cave... Fighting sounds...Monsters around, a dragonborn.. A bird...a deep gnome... I need to defend myself..." He takes out his crossbow and shoot a bolt at the gnome wizard. "This one seems the most dangerous"... Crossbow: 8 damage: 7 The bolt reaches Belwar's shoulder who scream...more by surprise the by pain. Suddenly Griminir comes back to his senses and his hate of spectator just grows exponentially. "What did you make me do, you fat big eye ?!? I am sorry Belwar... I'll make them pay"

The orb shoots off quickly but seems to falter as it misses Belwar. Perhaps the faezress is having a strange effect on magic. The derro scowls, and curses under her breath, preparing another spell.
"Nothing"--I snap off half of the crossbow bolt--"to worry about;"--I push it through and gasp at the pain--"bloody spectators have"--I pull the bolt out point-first and nearly double over--"mind-affecting"--the worst-formed chromatic orb I've ever seen whizzes six feet over my head--"eye rays." This just isn't my day, is it?
