You arrive in a flash on a teleportation circle. The air is dusty, filled with the metallic taste of iron and rust that permeates the city of Gracklstugh, confirming you arrived where you expected. According to Vizeran, the circle would be located in the Hold of the Deepking, and you would likely be arrested by the guards on sight. You would have to rely on your previous dealings with the Deepking to get you out of it. However, you arrive to an empty room, and upon exiting the portal area, you find the hold abandoned. You recall when you left, that Themberchaud, the ancient red dragon who kept the furnaces lit, had turned on his keepers when he discovered they were harboring a dragon egg. The egg was destroyed in the process, and you made quick get away. You had Stone Giant allies in Cairngorm Cavern, but there was also a faction of Derro who seemed to have gone a bit mad in the hall of sacred scrolls.
Exiting the hold, you hear the distant sounds of shouting. You see fire to the South where Themberchaud's cavern is. The sounds are coming from the Northwest, near the center of the city where the large furrow divides the North darklake district from the Southern areas.
Grimnir: Grimnir left his monastery of the Order of Saint Dionysus, a monastery famous for their martial art training and its spirits,in particular the "Breath of Moradin", a strong alcohol derived from potatoes. As part of the monastery traditions, Grimnir planed a journey to bring new plants and to learn new skills, that will give him the opportunity to become a master brewer back in the monastery. Confident on his capabilities, he choose to travel deep into the dangerous Underdark but the UNderdark proved too dangerous, and he was captured by the Drows. Grimnir is a very friendly dwarf that is always ready to lend help and to protect those who cannot protect themselves. He thinks sincerity is the most important quality and have a weakness for hard drinks.
He formed a strong bond with his four friends and travels with his adopted basilisk “Rocky”
He also has a loyal follower, Farryl Kilmander, a skilled spy.
Has also a Komodo - Giant Riding Lizard
He is the owner of "The Monk & The Basilisk", an upcoming brewery in Neverwinter, that he opened before going back into the Underdark.
In the Underdark, he felt a connection with the mycelium. The Myconid community taught him how to use this connection to cast magic. He is very curious about an entity called Araumycos. He tried to contact it but without success.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Grimnir looks around for any hint of what is going on, any sign of fighting in the Hall ? Perception:15
"The fact that the Hall is desert is not a good sign.Should we silently find our Stone Giant allies and get some information?", he whispers Trying to improve the stealth of the group, Grimnir casts pass without trace

There does appear to be signs of fighting. Scratch marks and burned areas of the walls and floors. Torn tapestries and rugs. Judging by how still it all is, it wasn't recently.
Brox struggles to understand Grimnir, lipreading gets really hard when someone whispers. But her by now trusted companion Dawnbringer fills in the blanks. Their soft warm voice filling Brox's head, relaying any important information.
"Grimnir, lets be quiet and careful. Something happened here. Thank you for your spell. I'll hang back a bit. With my armour I unfortunately make a lot of noise."
Brox, while the group rushes quietly towards the caverns, you remain behind with only your sword to accompany you. Thankfully it's a sentient talking sword that can communicate telepathically, so it's not bad company.
After a few moments pass, Dawnbringer speaks in your mind, "Brox, I don't think I've expressed just how blessed I feel to be wielded by you. Truly our companionship was ordained and destined by the gods. Together we will destroy these demon lords, and the chaos they wield. I pray only that you keep me shining brightly to push back this incessant darkness. In fact, I was won..."but before Dawnbringer can finish the words in your mind, you feel a low rumbling pulse in the ground, and spark of red light illuminates the caverns to the South. It seems to be emanating from Themberchaud's Cavern. Dawnbringer's words cut off, as it's attention is draw to the light. "What do you supposed that's all about?"
While moving toward the cavern, Oorr attunes himself to the world around him, this part of the world that he, an unlikely Aarakocra, has come to know (and appreciate?) so well.

Brox panics. What should I do? Investigate? There is nothing worse than going alone. Kindle the Light. Shelter the Light, Preserve Your Own Light. Be the Light. I am the light, it will guide me. She wonders how she should reach the others. One more she repeats the Tenets of the Ancient to calm her. Kindle the Light. Shelter the Light, Preserve Your Own Light. Be the Light.
Then she rushes after her companions, misty stepping the last 30ft to make sure not to make any noise and alert possible enemies. She stops them in their advances and tells them of her discovery. "Should we check out Themberchaud's Cavern before we head out west further?"
While Brox momentarily hangs back, the rest of you scout ahead quietly into the streets of Gracklstugh. The air is worse outside the keep, heavy with dust and grit. Breathing is difficult, as it feels like you're walking through a soft curtain of dust. The area is quiet, except for what is now the clear sounds of battle to the North near the fissure that separates the city. Visibility is difficult through the dirty air, but you think you see the lights of explosions, or possibly magic in that direct. There does not appear to be any obstruction in the direction of the Caverns if you wanted to head that way. At this point, Brox catches up with you to alert you of what she saw in the direction of the Themberchaud's lair.
Which way do you want to go? West to the Stone Giant Cavern, South to the Dragon's Lair, or North to the sounds of battle?
„Good idea Oorr“. Meanwhile, Grimnir releases his spores , allowing the group to converse telepathically. „let’s keep going towards our stone giant friends“
Oorr flies up to see if he can see out over the smog that permeates the city. After rising above it, he sees figures moving through the streets. It looks like barricades have been set up on either side of the furrow that cuts through the city. There are lights from spells and explosions. There is an encampment on the Southern side, with what looks like mostly duergar. You sense the presence of fiends, undead, and elementals in the area.
Oorr flies back to the group at all haste. "My friends, a group of duergars has set up barricades on the southern side of the furrow. I don't know yet what they are fighting against, but we should probably help them."
"Very well, Oorr. I trust your judgement. Let's go see what is going on over there. But let's try to stay hidden as much as we can, we have no clues of what's ahead." Grimnir keeps his concentration on his spell (i.e Pass without Trace)

"Agreed, my hairy friend. Let's make haste to the Cavern. Aera, stay with us, my dear."
Oorr pulls the hood of the Piwafi cloak on.
Let's get a stealth roll from everyone that is traveling to the Cavern, and Brox just roll a general stealth for staying at the keep.

Oorr then flies northward with Aera (Stealth check 24).
