Keeping a side eye on the conversation with Morgan Wilson orders her drinks sliding 6 silver over, "Meat, Raw please Fish if you have it otherwise whatever works"
Raising a tankard to Abigails order he sloshes it down.
He maintains a cheery outward appearance but subtlety pops the loop from his Long sword in case things go side wise.
Lafetha, the person shakes their head. "I don't know. You'd have to talk to the guard captain," the point off towards the fort.
Sim, the person takes a step closer to you. A single hand moving just about the sternum. "Again, can't let you get any closer. They came from the swamp, and went back into the swamp. You'll have to ask the captain of the guard a bit more. He's over at the fort." A few of the other guards around these three windowless buildings are taking notice of the one stopping Sim. Not moving to engage, but it's clear they're keeping an eye on him.
Shatter continues to avoid Morgan's question. "You know better than to ask that, even if you're not an active Raven." The supply master comes back with a few sacks. Looks like bedrolls, food, rope.. general travel supplies. Shatter takes it, slinging it over their shoulder before tossing down a few coin to the store manager. "Hope your skill set comes into use." The dark adamantium scale male catches the light of the room as Shatter turns and begins to exit. The helmet turning to exchange a glance with Wilson. Yet they don't break stride, heading out the back and into K7.
Petey comes back after a few minutes. Some hand carrying a plate of half a catfish. Freshly gutted and carved. In the other hand, a sizzling hunk of what is probably crocodile tail meat. It's not well seasoned, but it's a large portion and tender. "Fresh fish," he plops it down in front of Wilson. "And a good hunk of the best kind of meat we get." The plate hits the table in front of Abigail.
Sim nods to the guard who has given him the info. “Thank you for your time and the info. Fare thee well.” Then Sim turns his back to the guard and heads for the fort to talk to the Captain of the guards.
Abigail starts draining her ales, "You say a giant? Is that more of a metaphor for a larger than average man or loud sound that could have been from a giant, or did you actually see a giant? Also, about how long ago did this all happen? By the look of things, I would say you were attacked some time today?"
Abigail makes a mental note that they should head out as soon as possible while the tracks are still easy to make out...
Lafetha and Sim meet back up as their conversations around the warehouses, and the three guard buildings, wind down. Exchanging how their conversations went, the duo heads off to the fort. Outer wall, combination of wooden exposed walls and earth ramparts, has clearly taken a beating. Some sections blown a part; splinters of wood still scattered about but mostly cleared up. Soldiers moving to and fro. A wide, two story multi material building sits across and over the entry-way. A tunnel underneath leads to the armory and then out to the tavern-general store. Further down, other mix material tower buildings act a anchors and positions for firing off the multiple cannons and ballista that line the top of these flat-tops.
The 'chief' isn't hard to find, currently outside watching repairs and telling people where to go, while surveying the impacts of cannons and explosive ordinance. A nearly eight foot tall Bugbear. Long arms that nearly drag the ground when walking. His red-brown fur matted from a combination of sweat and just general humidity of the swamp. This does not seem like the climate a bugbear would enjoy. A long coiled mustache rests on his goblinoid face.
Petey shakes his head 'no' to Abigail when asked about if he saw it directly. "No, didn't see nothin. Others definitely said giant though. Could hear it movin so shootin so I assume its a real giant. Footsteps shook the casks off their stands." Petey dusts his hands off a bit, before wiping it down across his overalls. "Little over an hour ago though, not more than two now? Somewhere around then. Now anythin' for the lass that came in with you?" Petey's thumb points over to Morgan who just finished her conversation with Shattered.
“Morning Captain” Sim says approaching the Bugbear. “I was hoping you could shed some light on what exactly happened here. We just arrived on the Windhook to pick up some cargo as requested only to find it stolen. I think they knew we were coming because we were ambushed on the way here by those robotic cannons that seem to have paid you a visit. Now the interesting thing is, seems we got hit almost simultaneously at the same time as you. So as the cargo is missing and we are aiming to go get it back. Any idea who did this or which way they went? How many got away? Most of all did they take any of your people or just the cargo?
The bugbear shakes his big head a bit. "Got attacked by unknown, well supplied hostiles. Artillery units. A massive heavy armor unit. A few troops and lots of expendable... things." There's a bit of a shrug. "Some stuff was taken, by what I hear from inventory reports. Couldn't tell you what it is at the moment. And while I have a few missing in action, I do not believe any were kidnapped."
He rolls his shoulders a bit, while shouting for a few others to grab some renewed supplies and start digging a trench. Leaving the conversation to give some proper instructions on how to dig to a few of the others that are nearby. Returning a good five minutes later. "Sorry, duties come first. Now, hard to say how many got away or how many there were. Especially if they hit a boat further down the lake than here, all my estimates aren't worth the sweat on my brow."
Again, his attention is turned for several minutes by others requesting his attention. Moving away from Sim and Lafetha to discuss in quieter tones with the soldiers and other crew, before returning. "Again, where were we... Ah. Yes. They went back into the swamp as quickly as they arrived. It's a humid, wet nightmare for a few days in any direction. So I have no idea where they could have even launched an attack from."
Morgan watches Shatter leave and says under their breathe, "I've got a skill set that I hope comes up for you later..." They see that the supply master over heard them, "that wasn't a threat, that was supposed to be a double untondre... Double entonder? It was a sex pun. Anyway, I'd love to see your wares... That wasn't a sex pun, I just want to see your goods... No. That sounds worse. Listen I'm looking for a three dragon ante deck, a set of tools and... Just let me take a look at everything I'll know what I want when I see it."
“Captain thank you for your time could you describe this armored unit? Was it a living thing or some sort of machine? Oh and where can I find the list of what cargo they took? I know you said it’s not here.”
Abigail quickly finishes her meal, puts five silver and five copper on the table, and then jumps up. "Well, time to go. If we want to track the invaders, we need to leave as soon as we can - daylight is burning."
((Assuming Wilson and Morgan do not take too long after Abigail is finished with her meal, she will wait... Otherwise, she leaves to go back to the Windhook and prepare her gear.))
The Commanding Officer scratches his chin for a second while continuing his conversation with Sim and Lafetha. "You'd have to check with the Warehouse or the Dock Master. They'd have a list of the crate numbers gone. But the Giant? Oh about half the size of one of these trees. A good fifteen, maybe twenty feet tall. Equally as wide. Walked on two legs and wore the armor of a man from head to toe. It stayed back a few hundred feet, so I can't give much more detail than that." One of the others comes by, as he gives a small nod to Lafetha and Sim. "Hope you find it all." And with that, he begins to take his leave.
Morgan, the manager of the general store blinks a few times while keeping a gaze at you. He does take a small series of papers and slides them across the table towards you. "Let me know whatcha want and I will get it. Prices are in there or we canna talk about barter."

"Seems we got ourselves a little bit of a bonus for collecting. Assuming we actually get it. Only getting paid if we bring the cargo to where we're going after here. Now. It seems we need to get crates 113, 114, and 116. No, I don't know what's in them and they're to arrive unopened. Part of the deal I signed. So, do take care of that. Sounds like a few other crates were also stolen, so they're fair game. However, the mentioned reward for getting it back. Good sized boxes, too, so might be a bit of a haul to get them back here. Prepare and plan for that headache now."
Sim: You check off some items while trying to negotiate with the manager of the general store. While you don't get any discount on the price, he does give you a free flask of oil for your lantern. (Your lantern has 6 hours of light per flask). The tent is a similar style of bulky, heavy two person tent that Diadochi used to carry. It costs you a total of 13 gold, 7 silver.
When you head out of the general store and tavern, and town a small hallway to the armory, the room itself is behind a locked gated door. Clearly, it isn't so much a store, but a way into the armory of the fort. A quartermaster, doing some inventory looks over her shoulder at you, before going back to doing some inventory. The similar grey-purple color scheme is along their robes and tunic. "Stranger," there's a small wave of a quill. "What services are you looking for? I don't got much. Few cheap mules. Could round up a few of the local dom'stic buff'lo. Less you need something forged or repaired. But we're about a week behind."
After packing up her travel bag (thieves' tools, rope, potion of healing, dagger, crowbar, caltrops), Abigail goes back to the general store to buy the remaining supplies.

What's that? go to the armory and see what they have available? What an excellent idea! See? I knew you'd be great at this."

Abigail: The shopkeeper gives you a small deal on the rations; 2 gold instead of the 3 gold, 2 silver. The total cost of everything is 70 gold. The clothing set that's a itchy overalls, pull over shirt, tall boots, thin gloves, and wide set hat. Seems made to be knee deep in water, although it'll probably smell after.
Lizard-Oil-Tin:
This tin of oil can be applied to various things. One tin will roughly cover a 5x5 area, like a bedroll, or set of clothing. Applying it to a item you're sleeping on (or in), prevents water and water-critters from getting at you while you sleep. Lasts 5 days before it needs to be applied again. Also, it can be applied to a melee weapon. The melee weapon will not have disadvantage in the water for 5 days. Last, it can be applied to a firearm & 20 bullets; enabling the weapon to be useable and fired under water. The oil smells like farts and earwax.

Sim also decides to buy a set of swamp clothes, a canteen of water, and three more flasks of lamp oil. He then takes his tent to the ship and stores it with his stuff as he’s going to use the hammock. Then he repacks all of his stuff and tells the others he is ready to go. He goes outside the fort and starts to look for tracks
