((I believe the only time negative HP comes into effect is if you take more than double your total health, and that would be an instakill. In this scenario, the bats just removed your remaining saving throws.))

Bry is still asleep due to furious monk punches. Davmorn sees the color drain from Adanmar's form and shouts, "Adanmar is down! Get those bats off 'im!" Davmorn is going run toward Adanmar and will burn a second level spell slot to cast Spiritual Weapon, and summons a large spectral gauntlet. However, as the hand is summoned, the light fades to a pale white glow as the gauntlet changes to a sinister skeletal hand. Davmorn spits on the floor, "Blood dark magics..." and swings the hand toward the second bat swarm, 20, and slams the fist into the swarm, dealing 9force damage. The swarm looks horribly damaged as Davmorn clears half the swarm in one blow. The cleric will then cast Sacred Flame toward the second swarm. The bats move to avoid it, 18, and fly out of the way of the searing blast.
((Basically, all magic only works here because the Dark Powers allow it. They are essentially a filter, so no hope or joy allowed here. Fun light fist? No, you get a spooky ghost hand. If Bry was awake, he might know that other magics may be similarly effected.))
