'Why are Rex and Arliden making funny faces at each other...are they trying to give me a signal?...was that my stomach growling? When was the last time I ate, man...I'm hungry'
"The raid in Greenest went better than we could have hoped. Not only have we just come back from the most successful raid ever, we managed to catch up with an errant dragonborn who forgot from whence he came. Now, Rex, kindly tell your friends to drop their weapons. We don't want this execution to happen...prematurely."
“Well... that’s fair.” Rex drops the illusion and his whack-stick. “Though, I’m gonna give you a fair warning Frulam. I’m going to be taking that cloak. One from each Wearer. Just to stick it to your Queen. That’s a promise.”
Rex mentally tells each of his allies to drop their weapons and follow along. There’s no chance of winning against this. Plus they’ll take them right to the prisoners.
"Ya sure, I mean I already dropped my dagger but I can't exactly drop my whit and that's my best weapon. Maybe if you all have some parchment I could write down a bunch of jokes and then drop that on the ground?"
Then he turns to look at Rex, "Still man, that a good performance. I'm impressed even if these things aren't."
Fjordix growled, low and guttural, he eyed the cultists his hands pulsating with anger as they held solid to his weapon. He knew they couldn't win, but he didn't want to go down without a fight either. The back and forth inside his head subsided though as he let go his weapon and it fell to the ground with a loud clatter.
What the?! Novot jerks slightly when she unexpectedly hears Rex's voice in her head, but manages to keep it together and maintain more-or-less a mask of normalcy. That chatterbox has even more tricks up his sleeve, it seems.
"Oh, Rex. You do love being dramatic. I'm almost sad that you'll be executed in the morning. Guards, secure them with the other prisoners."
The guards bind your hands and lead you to the prison tent. Once there, you see that nine other prisoners are being held. One of them, a half-elf that has been severely beaten and looks half starved is tied to a stake set apart from the others. Once you are shackled to a post near the half-elf, the guards leave the tent.
“Hey, what can I say, it’s hard not to be confident when you got a god on your side. Maybe one day you’ll get to know what that feels like, Frulam. That is, if you finally got on the right side.” Rex says coyly as he is lead out. As he’s tied to the post, he nods to the man, “Hey, you hanging in there?”
So we are in a tent right? What's the guard situation both inside the tent, and outside the tent (at least from what I can tell)? Also, where in the camp is this tent located? I'm trying to determine its proximity to the outside of the camp for the best escape route. Finally, for the moment at least, what time of day is it at this point?
Assuming the coast is clear, Novot also tries to break out of her bonds (after a little visit from the Guidance fairy): 23
If that gets her out, she'll still maintain her 'bound' posture, but look to the others. "Assuming we weren't tied up right now, what would be our plan?"
[CRich: what's your policy on having it as a given that people ask me for and receive Guidance when they're about to try something tricky (within the bounds of common sense, of course)? I'm fine with however you want to do it - just thinking of trimming down some back-and-forth, given the forum style we're using.]
[Mpruet: On this map, your tent is the larger one located directly above "200FT" (found on the scale at the bottom). From what you can tell, there are no guards inside the tent. Everyone in there is shackled to a post or stake. You can hear slightly muffled sounds from outside the tent, but not enough to determine how many people are where. However, there were 3 guards you were able to see near the tent before you were captured.]
[FookSake: In order to facilitate faster posting, everyone can gain the benefit from Guidance (add 1d4 to ability checks) until otherwise noted. For housekeeping purposes, Novot was unable to cast Guidance while her hands were bound (the spell has a somatic component). Her strength check was sufficient to break the chains without it, though, so she is able to cast it now.]
Fjordix struggles against the chains, but he only serves to have the shackles break the skin on his wrists [take 1 point of damage from the shackles]. The half-elf moans, "Y...yes. I am Leosin. How have you come by my name?"
As Leosin is responding, Novot breaks through the chains and moves around to assist the others. The other prisoners, sensing a chance to regain freedom, start reaching out and pleading for aid.
Fjordix flinches a little as the thin line of blood begins to form and pool around the edge of the manacles and then begins to run down it's chain links. "A boy, don't remember his name, asked us to find you." Fjordix waits for Novot to come around and help release him from the chains.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Arliden is going to at least attempt to slip out of his bonds (there is no way he would even try to "out-strength" a chain so if he can make a Dexterity check he gets 27 [the nat 1 is from guidance], if he can't use Dex he'll just wait for Novot.
Either way he then say to Leosin, "The town needs you back to figure out what the heck is going on. We were sent to rescue you and we figured the fastest was to find you was to just get captured, so don't worry; everything is going according to plan."

Fjordix looked to Arliden with a confused look, "We didn't plan to get captured, the plan went horribly wrong"
Arliden doesn't even blink, "No, getting captured was always the plan, maybe the backup plan, but we needed it to be convincing so we still needed you to look angry that we were 'captured' (if his Dex check got him out of chains he air quotes captured, otherwise he just thinks them LOL). It worked perfectly too! None of us are dead, and I was assuming that they might kill one of us just to make an example, and we even still have all out appendages. Actually really good job everyone, well played."

Novot isn't holding any weapons, but she does put her hands up in front of her in the universal 'I'm unarmed' gesture. "Agreed. Nice try anyway, Rex."
